1. How dare you be half cut! On a Wednesday night![;)]
2. Wasn''t 1992 also the year that Sky''s Monday night coverage started? We were up first against Forest. It didn''t take long to banish the memory of the crap ''live'' music (was it D-Ream or someone equally as poor, on a stage in the centre circle pretending to play instruments and sing without one electrical lead going to the stage) as Crooky bent in a free kick from outside the box in the first 5 minutes. Nigel Clough equalised, but we ended up winning 3-1.
3.
One of my favourite memories from the 92/93 season was John Polston scoring in a 1-0 victory over Villa at Carrow Road, It was between us, Villa and United at the time. Sadly, this pretty much put Manchester United on course to win the title. I believe Polston''s son was born the same day too. Also a trademark Gossy volley against Leeds, I think we won 4-0 or 4-1.
That Villa game was quite possibly the most tense an atmosphere I have felt at Carrow Road. The noise was immense. The out-poring of tension and relief when Polston scored (83rd minute or something like that) was incredible. Didn''t Manure turn up a week (or so) later and trounce us 3-1? This was the game when Cantona back heeled JP in full view of everyone bar the ref!
4. While we''re on the subject of cars, a friend told me the other night that a Newcastle United supporting colleague of his had found it hilarious that his pulling out of Dunston Hall in his car had created such a stir.
5. With £20million being bandied about, I expect that Roeder already has his 2006/7 Rothmans year book opened up on the Newcastle United page.
6. My posts seem to be disappearing into thin air. Everyone I have typed tonight has not appeared on the board, yet my name was listed as ''last post made by'' on the thread. I''m not sure why I''m even typing this.
7.
Well, lets see if Cullum has the £56m or whether he was trying to get a cheap deal!!
I can see the logic in the £20m being his opening ''bid'' based on the club''s position in October.   This story has a long way to run. It will be interesting to see it unfold.
8. Am I the only person that see''s PC''s October ''bid'' of £20m as being his valuation, at that time, for control. At that time, the club were destined for the drop.
9. Backing up what others have said, a Forest supporting mate said this about him leaving.   "He''s quality, you''ve got yourself a fantastic midfielder there. In my opinion a bigger loss to us than Commons ever was, we''ll miss him terribly. The only thing I will say negatively is that he''s unproven at Championship level, but I''ve seen worse players than Clingan hold their own in that league. We seem to be giving our midfield away to our new Championship rivals. Why Forest seem to let so many contracts expire annoys me!"
10. Apparently Henrik Mortensen is gutted at not making anyone''s team. Jason Minnett is chuffed though.
11. Quite a few best moments. Crammed in to the Norwich end of the San Siro (with a ticket for the Milan end). It seemed like we had two people to each seat. Goss'' equaliser at home against Bayern, I still think we all thought they''d beat us in the end- until then. John Polston''s winner against Aston Villa (in the 83rd minute I seem to remember) to send us back to the top of the Premier league. I can remember a Vinny Jones own goal somewhere in the past, that was priceless. Worst. The Sheffield semi final. Sunderland were nothing, we froze. I can also remember the most mind numbingly dull game ever. A Zenith Data Systems Cup game against Millwall. Endless minutes of drivel that included Robert Rosario scoring with his right arse cheek without actually knowing where the ball was.
12.
If you are a true supporter of the club and want a good future for the club I will see you there. Cheers
And completely disrespect the past? If you want to protest, at least wait until the new season. At least then you will be in the right generation.
13. If this were to be a transfer we make, it could have additional benefits. Not only would we get a player that could do a good job for us but it would also act as an indicator of intent for any further players we went after. It''s a blinking big ''if'' though.
14. It''s not about how much we have bought and sold for. It''s about who we have bought and sold. West Brom, Stoke, Bristol City or Hull/Watford. Off the top of my head, three of these clubs have spending which must be similar to ours (if not less).
15. It is possible to have the messageboard open in two windows, at the same time.
16. I should imagine that they are about to make quite a bit of cash from a game they have coming up.
17. It''s not just Roeder that refused to extend Huckerby''s contract. Grant could have easily have done it last summer rather than let it go into the final year.
18.
It''s a shame that Hucks is gone and he will be hugely missed. Perhaps it wasn''t announced earlier to ensure the maximum amount of season tickets were sold.......
I think it was probably to avoid vocal anti-manager/board chants for the final two games.
19.
Bally Smart will be going to play in Germany.
I''ve heard that he could be going abroad. I wonder if our source is the same.
20. I''ve heard that even a few of the youth team players aren''t quite sure how Daley got offered a contract. I find it sad that some of these will go without ever really being given a chance, Smart in particular.
21. He was too good for us, according to him, and probably every one of the lesser clubs he has played for since.
22. Yes. I''m sure that Hucks would prefer to finish his career after a promotion push, rather than this seasons turmoil.
23.
lets all laugh at preston!
Or at us if he finds the cows backside with his banjo.
