  1. Will do a great job for them.. I for one was sorry to see him go..and looked very comfortable in that league.. Good luck Ginger Pele !
  2. I remember reading an article in the past, during the pre-season fitness tests, and it said that Doherty was second only to Huckerby over 100 metres, and if you watch the Doc, he is very seldom beaten for pace ! Really has been an awesome season so far for The Doc !!
  3. Just come home after travelling on A47, and roads are pretty good, drive carefully and you will be fine, average speeds they were travelling about 40-45mph. Hope this helps !
  4. I read this morning that we have offered Michael Spillane a new contract... http://www.advertiser24.co.uk/content/advertiser24/sport/story.aspx?brand=NOROnline&category=Sport&tBrand=AAOnline&tCategory=sport&itemid=NOED20%20Feb%202009%2009%3A21%3A22%3A683
  5. Just read that we are now being linked to Heidar Helguson, must admit somebody i had not considered - http://www.fansfc.com/frontpage/frontpagenews.asp?newsid=189426
  6. slightly O/T, was anybody  else impressed with their right winger ( the guy with hte headband,Nathan Thompson ? ) seemed a very tidy and skillful player,  and made quite a few of our players look ordinary.
  7. Yes, I also thought Daley looked good, and was especially pleasing as he was scouted playing for my village..
  8. Although he was only on the pitch for less than one half, if this is a taste of whats to come, I for one am truely excited. I know it was against Gorleston, and I know it was only for about half an hour, but boy, did he look good. I am never one to get overly excited, but his movement, touch, eye for a pass, and the way he so easily goes pasts a player was just awesome. His goal too, just oozed class so please Wes, more of the same please..   Other toughts on tonights match, I thought Spillane looked poor, won hardly anything in the air against a smaller forward, was responsible for their goal, and was out muscled a few times too. Chris Martin looked leaner and his first goal was a great finish, however he still seems lazy when not in posession, and reluctant to chase or close people down. Sammy Clingan, looked ok, composed on the ball, and a fairly tidy passer. I have not seen Dawkin before, but was also very impressed with him, beats his man easily, confident  pacy, however a bit lightweight at present. Doc was Doc, won most things in the air, but arms around players and still gives away too many free kicks. Apart from players mentioned, no one really stood out either good or bad, and all in all well worth the trip !!
  9. Safri for me, I thought he was a cultured player, great passer, and did not mind getting stuck in either !
  10. Ripped off again???? Surely everybody has a choice of buying the shirt or not, if you are happy to pay for the shirt buy one, if not dont. Also if you purchase a home shirt you get £10 off away shirt price. Not too bad if you ask me !
  11. Travel for me, nothing beats sampling new cultures, lifestyles and new friends.
  12. fairly sure this was tounge in cheek
  13. was just going to post same thing   http://www.wbazone.com/news/article.php?newsitem=237280
  14. Hucks  son plays football for my local team,  and today he was training with the young boys, helping setting up the equipment and putting it away, he also was doing the bleep tests with the boys, and helping with their training. Just thought i would share this with you, what a top bloke, Where ever your life takes you good luck, thanks and we will miss you !!
  15. I was quite spoilt. Used to have Safri, Andy Hughes and Darren Ward all live in my village of Mulbarton, and all were very friendly and happy to talk, especially Youssef who was a real gent, and a certain Mr Huckerby lives just a couple of miles away.
  16. http://www.football.virginmedia.com/page/championshipvideo/0,,12555~1299664,00.html   Just in case you have not seen highlights yet
  17. I was at the match yesterday, and in my opinion only two players came out of the match with any credit, and that was Evans and Doherty, possibly Marshall, Otsemobor was very poor, distribution bad, very hesitant and seems to rely on his pace to defend, i have never known a defender to seem so reluctant to go in for a 50/50 tackle, Bertrand who i think is an amazing player, also had a poor game, getting caught in possesionnon numerous occasions, Pearce has such a lack of pace its frightning, when he is on the ball he is normally good, but he was  exposed badly yesterday, Russell and Pattison were ok, but were outplayed in the middle of the park, Huckerby had avery poor game, which is a real shame as he has looked like the Hucks of old in last couple of games. And Cureton right mid/wing could not get my head round this decision at all, never a player who is going to create  much or beat his man, shirks tackles, so not going to offer much defensively, why not play Croft there who is more likely to create something and track back more than Cureton did/would. Evans worked very hard, scored a great goal and seemed to care alot more than most of our others players. Dublin had a very quiet game, didnt win alot in air at all, and didnt offer much on the ground. But back to the subject of post, i would rather have Doherty  in defence than either than Shacks or Pearce, now i''m not saying he is a great defender, but for me the best one we have on the books at present, yes sometimes he hoofs or slices the ball, but i still think he is best we have. Also must mention Croft who also had a great cameo appearence, as when he was on he made a huge difference, was positive, which we were not all afternoon, and seemed happy to shoulder the responsabilty of taking charge of attacking, so he too had a great game whilst he was on. In the end, as much as i loathe to say it, Ipswich were the better team yesterday, played better football, and deserved to win, and what hurts me most, was they seemed to want it more than we did.
  18. I really cannot wait, my sons  first away match against Ipswich, and i''ve treated my mum to her first ever away match for her birthday. Roll on Sunday
  19. I expect Dion will win with maybe Doherty and Russell to be in the mix, but i would love to see Bertrand sneak into third place, for his first season at this level he has been truely outstanding and has a great future.
  20. I agree, he really is a great player, simply sublime first touch, never wastes possesion,  a very intelligent player who plays himself out of trouble . Dont think we stand a chance of signing him permanantly as he really is destined for great things, but would dearly love to have him for another season.
  21. What a super little player Ryan is, dont think i have seen a player with a better first touch for a very long time. Very rarely gives ball away and is deceptively strong. Would dearly love to have him back next season.
  22. Obviously i would never condone what Matty Pattison [is charged with],  but it was great to see the players reaction when Matty was taken off, nearly every player to a man, went up and gave him hug or a hand shake. and just shows what great team spirit there is. Well done to the players, everyone makes a mistake, just important he learns from it and makes sure it does not happen again.  Also thought he had a decent game, and was gutted when he was brought down for the penalty as i would have loved to see him score today!!!
