  1. YES! I was planning to boycott England games until he was replaced - far, far too much worry....
  2. Losing Malky is shame. Great player, great bloke. Losing McVeigh is stupidity itself.
  3. Its a real ****** - with Souness at Blackburn Id taken a bet to have them go down, but now they might get a decent manager
  4. *yawn* So Huckerby, Bentley, McKenzie, McVeigh, Svennson, Henderson, Jarvis, Abbey and Jonson just not enough players to fill two slots?
  5. I reckon that we''ll play out our skins and still get our arse handed to us on a plate... ... but anything can happen in football! :)
  6. "are you telling me that every home game against the poorer sides in the first division last season carrow rd was rocking? " Yes. Welcome to teams with real support. I was there at the Man U game - ten minutes after the Mancs score their second, the American Toursts finally put a chant together - but only because on hearing a murmer from the right of us, the Norwich fans shut up to listen... it wasn''t loud enough to actually pick out any words, as my brother was opening a packet of crisps next to me, and that seemed to drown out most of the noise from the boys in red.
  7. I for one couldn''t care about the cups - we can worry about that in our second season in the Premier ;) " It could be a good oppotunity for players such as Mackay, Mulryne, Brennan, Jarvis, Hendo etc to get a game though" Agree totally - thats what we''ve got to view them as a chance for our 1 and a half string to play competitive matches.
  8. To the tune of "Robin Hood" Gary Holt, Gary Holt, Riding through the fens, Gary Holt, Gary Holt, Midfield and defence! He''s got ginger hair! We don''t f**king care! Gary Holt, Gary Holt, Gary Holt!
  9. Personally - I think the 4-3-3 (or 4-3-Hucks-2, however you define it) is our best an most natural formation. I''d love to see us employ a 4-2-3-1, I reckon it would work well.....!
  10. 1. What is the meaning/origin of your nickname? "ob1" is three letters and therefore a quick login. I''ve used it for years on other forums....! 2. How long have you been using this forum? Six months - I''m mostly a lurker. 3. Where do you manly log on to this forum from? (Home, Work, School/College, Internet café etc..) Work I guess. I do login from home too.... 4. What do you enjoy most about the forum? Norwich City football chat? 5. In what way do you feel the anonymity of using a nickname effects what you post? (see below) 6. What way do you feel the anonymity of using a nickname effects how others perceive you and your view’s. Your nickname is just a label for how others perceive you. Their perception is all important, the label is irrelevant. 7. How do you feel your use of the forum affects the amount of time you spend discussing Norwich City Football Club? Obviously it increases it! 8. How do you feel your involvement with the forum affects your support of Norwich City Football Club? Keeps me there all the time! :) 9. What do you get from using this forum that you don’t from more traditional forms of exchanging views such as talking in the pub or at work? Long distance communication with real Norwich supporter "geeks" who actually know what they are talking about. Lets face it - you ain''t gonna come here unless you are a bit of a Norwich geek, so I get the benefit of 100 or so, really knowledgable fans! 10.What are the disadvantages to using this forum as apposed to more traditional forms of exchanging views? The inability to make inflection in typing in the same way you can vocal communications - it means sarcasm is taken literally and is the basis of much misunderstanding. 11. What unwritten rules do you feel should be followed when using the forum. Don''t insult people - half the time you''ve miss understood them anyway. Unless it''s 1st Wizard. :) 12. In what ways could this web forum be improved? I run a very busy forum myself. The pinkun could borrow a few ideas such as the nice Yellow and Green colour scheme. Ironic considering we host the "Ipswich Gigs Forum". Don''t worry, they arn''t allowed to forget they are hosted by a City fan! http://www.punknews.co.uk I think the best improvement would be marking threads which have had posts which you haven''t seen....
  11. I''ve got a Man U mate whom I watch footie with, and he''s more than aware of how good Hucks is from when Hucks tore United apart while playing for Coventry.... I think the players have the repect for him, for sure.
  12. I don''t think Nigel coins THAT many cliches. For example - did he blame the referee everytime we lost a game? See! Not that much of a cliche. In fact I don''t think he ever blamed the ref, even when the ref needed some blaming (I''m thinking Everton away.) I always thought that he was pretty straight talking too, were he''ll admit it if we didn''t do so well etc. Know what I mean?
  13. (sorry if this has been suggested before) What this forum needs is a marker for when you''ve not read ALL the posts in a thread. When a new post is added it is marked with "NEW" so that you know when you are not up-to-date on a thread. I realise (as a programmer) that this probably isn''t easy, but the board I use for my site does this and it''s an essential! :)
  14. The only way to BUY a good team, is with money. But money doesn''t necessarily build a good team! :) Personally I think Chelsea are screwed. I don''t believe any manager is going to win the Premiership in their first year. Every year, a new manager will come in, buy practically a whole new team for themselves and then fail. Only to have another manager come in..... Eventually Abramovich will get bored with failure and perhaps move on to American football where the aspect of "team" isn''t as important as in football and its easier to buy success. He''ll leave Chelsea, take his money, and they''ll have their debts and overpay glory hunters, who''ll be leaving that sinking ship like rats. Money can''t buy you Delia, thats for sure.
  15. I''m a computer programmer* from Brighton...! * or "Senior Software Engineer/Consultant" as my mum likes to hear.
  16. Can I just say - I run a very large and busy internet forum (on UK punk) and it''s an absolute pain in the backside being an admin for a forum! It''s also a god-almighty pain in the backside when you have to move forums or sites to new forums, so please have some patience. I know - on Monday I had to move my comparitively small site (compared to here) and it took absolutely ages, was utterly soul destroying boredom! As for coding improvements; I''m sure most of you think that coding is easy - well to a certain extent it is, but web coding, and more to the point, web coding for busy site with tons of users to make a system that works is damned difficult, time-consuming and fustrating. Again, perhaps a little patience is needed.
  17. Funnily enough, I met a Arsenal fan, on the way back to Brighton on the train (took blooming ages as it was delayed, naturally) who''d also been to the Norwich celebrations! He seemed to enjoy it!
  18. Well... if you read my comments, you''ll notice they were about criticism of Delia in general, than any specific comment made by 1st Wizard or any other individual. I was just keep the debate going! :P
  19. I think 99% of criticism of Delia come from the fact that; a) she is a woman. b) she is a woman who is also a cook and therefore very "womanly". c) she is a woman who has more money than the men who criticise her. d) she is a woman who has no business in a male profession such as football. The one and only factor that makes her the best person to own Norwich City, is that she is a fan and it her dream. I''d rather have Delia and her small amount of well earnt money, than a Roman Abromovich that thought about buying their rivals (Tottenham) before buying Chelsea.
  20. I''ve found better odds; 7500-1 from SportingOdds.com I''d like to know the odds of us staying up - definately sticking a tenner on that, and a couple of quid on the above... but 90% haven''t even started the premiership winner for next season (considering that the final place hasn''t been decided yet)
  21. I''m a bit of a "lurker" on these boards, but this thread reminded me of a City Dream I had a week ago, so I thought I should post. This was especially rare as I never, ever, remember dreams usually.... Basically - the game started at Carrow Road (with the old South Stand) and I was playing on left wing (that being a "real" dream!) I did get the ball once, only to twat it towards the left corner flag, mirroring the ball Easton hit in the playoff final when I realised City had stopped playing, and knew we were gonna lose.... ... then I got distracted by someone in the crowd and had a chat.... Not very exciting, I know....! *gets coat and leaves*
