The club statement said they would appoint the Director of Football and he or she would then be the main driver in recruiting a head coach. -
The more relevant comparison is between the means, not the ends. And in how we react to the aftermath of the means. -
Yes. Extremism is dreadful. Left, Right, Islamic, Christian, Nationalistic, you name it.I don''t hate all Brexit supporters because of the guy who shot Jo Cox MP. As just one example. -
Enoch Powell is now a decomposing sack of bones, and nobody misses him. His children, maybe. -

VW is ad hominem as usual. Go on, give us an actual opinion. -
The extreme-right are absolutely desperate to use anything they can to spread their agenda of fear and division. The grand irony of course is that by behaving like this they''re doing the work of the Islamist fanatics. The Islamist terrorists want to make us live in abject fear of their attacks. The Islamist terrorists want to create divisions and even more anti-Muslim prejudice in the West. The extreme-right love to see themselves as defenders of our culture, but by deliberately spreading fear, hatred, and division they''re actually reacting in precisely the way the Islamist fanatics want them to.In fact the extreme-right and the Islamist fanatics both share the same vision. They both crave a violent and destructive clash of civilisations. They''re the opposite sides of the same disgusting coin. The Islamist fanatic in ISIS occupied Syria who joyously celebrates the attack on London is no different to the extreme-right fanatic in Britain who is full of glee because they see the attack as another wonderful opportunity to spread their divisive and dishonest hate-fuelled rhetoric. -
Additionally it would be foolish to believe that defending someone in court means you have some level of sympathy for their actions, otherwise you would find it tricky to get a defence lawyer for rapes, assaults etc. So the fact Khan defended various undesirables in court has no relevance for me. -
Off in the summer to Leeds, watch this space. -
I don''t recall us treating all Irish Catholics as IRA supporters when they were bombing us through the seventies and eighties and nineties, and I don''t think we should treat all Muslims as sympathisers now. Isn''t the goal of these attacks to drive a wedge between different communities? Some of the Sadiq Khan references on here are disappointing to say the least. -
He won''t need legal aid, any firm would offer him a no win no fee deal on the basis he can hardly not win. -
Southgate out! Shambles! -
If you haven''t got a spoon around here, you''re on the wrong forum. -
You can thank the Lord for it if you like. I thank humanity. -
Yes, I just thought that was the most enjoyable first half of an England game I have seen for about five years. Keep the dark blue maybe. -
Yep. People aren''t eating al fresco. -
I''m sure he is a scumbag, but scumbags retain human rights which includes the right not to be defamed by national media by wrongly naming you as the perpetrator of a terrorist atrocity. -
Lallana hit the post, Alli should have scored. We appear to be playing quite well.Mind you, it is a meaningless friendly. -
Let''s try again for the pedantically impaired. If he is in prison, he could not have carried out the crimes he was named as having carried out today. Therefore he is innocent of those crimes.Trust that is clear. -
Yeah, let''s not sign a former England player because of his haircut choices. -
What did he apologise for? -
Based on the first 15 minutes, we are clearly going to win Euro 2018 and Southgate is a tactical genius. -
The rush to be first with the news should not lead to an innocent person being named. He would have good cause to sue for defamation. Channel 4 not usually so cavalier. -
I could enjoy them finishing 20th in the Championship for the next ten years while their players leave, fans walk away and the running costs stay depressingly high.Maybe a Carling Cup quarter final every so often to keep them believing it might get better.
