1.

I''m concerned about whether Gunn can step up to a full season as a Number 1...it''s a much bigger risk than having Ruddy between the sticks and it''s a key position.
Is it though?Ruddy hasn''t looked anywhere near his best for the past 2 seasons, so whilst he might have experience on his side, his actual playing ability appears to have dropped somewhat compared to when he got his England call-up IMHO.I''d rather gamble on the raw talent and ability of Gunn, than settle in for a potential 3rd season of underperforming from Ruddy...
I take your point, but let''s say Gunn drops a clanger against Fulham: how will he react? We don''t know, whereas we know Ruddy has extensive experience in the Prem and Championship regardless of whether he''s past his best or not. A related worry is if we do need to take Gunn out of the firing line at some stage it would be better to have an experienced number 2: Matthews carries the same risks as Gunn (I''m assuming Jones isn''t good ebnough for this level).
 2. I can see no reason why we can''t score as many goals again next season so a top-half finish should be nailed on. I''m concerned about whether Gunn can step up to a full season as a Number 1; it''s a big jump and how will he react when he makes his first mistake? Of course he might sail through the experience but it''s a much bigger risk than having Ruddy between the sticks and it''s a key position. We also need this centre-back signing to work, whether it be Franke or someone else. If the GK and CB positions work out then we''ll be in the top six.
 3. ZLF - RM has always fronted up to the media after relegation from the PL and after some abysmal performances last season and I think he''s become the face of failure to some fans. Of course this is utterly unfair.
 4. They are 20-1 to be relegated. I think it''s worth a tenner.
 5. I like City 1st and find his/her posts amusing. Then again my favourite poster is True Grit, he''s hilarious. Many on this board would benefit from developing a sense of humour.
 6. Newcastle are in crisis (again) with the manager falling out with the board. Brighton have lost their last two. If we get on a hell of a run then the top two can still be chased down.

 8. Had an interview at Oldham Athletic for the vacant manager''s job yesterday, according to the local paper. Apparently he''s not favourite for the job. I hope he gets it.
 9. Out on loan: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30817577 At the risk of offending the board re-post police, Cam also went out on loan yesterday: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30799471
 10. It is simply too early to judge how this season is going to pan out. We lost a tight away game 1-0 after going down to 10 men, we didn''t play great but it''s a 46 game season. There''s a lot more to come from this squad. Calm down!
 11. Hi all, I''m planning to buy my Dad a ''71 home shirt for the new season. His favourite player of all time is Ken Foggo so I''d like to get Foggo''s name and number on the back of the shirt. Only problem is I have no idea what number Foggo wore and the internet isn''t throwing up any answers. Can anyone help? Thank you! DD=L
 12. I paid my £20 and got the priority membership. I can only get to occasional home games so didn''t want to miss out on Watford and Blackburn. But yeah, there seemed to be plenty of tickets on Monday morning so maybe I didn''t need to bother! What I find annoying is that Priority Members are ranked above Season Ticket holders in the queue for additional tickets so they also have to buy priority membership if they want to buy additional tickets.

 14. Relevant: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28124738 Like Eddie Howe at Bournemouth, NA is simply trying to downplay expectations regarding public income from a player sale to avoid prices being inflated for players we want.
 15. "I wouldn''t crow" says the man who only started posting on here after our relegation. Where have you been for the last three seasons?
 16. He has Norwich connections: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27477576 [Y]
 17.
2 promotions and 1 relegation, close to adminstration.........all called by me.
That''s stretching the truth... you said that the club WILL enter administration. To be fair though you did call it right on Lambert straight away.
 18.
Especially if we go down, the players respond well to him and it was always a huge ask to save our skins after the Hughton/Board mistakes. He deserve''s at least a fair crack at it imo.
Agreed! We have a long history of successfully promoting from within. Adams has already demonstrated that he has the intelligence and charisma to be successful.
 19. Agreed Lakey, I was very angry about the substitutions against West Ham and I''m still convinced Hughton''s substitutions in that game lost us points. However I agree that Hughton got it spot on on Sunday and deserves credit for that.
 20.
Does anyone know the reason why Redmond was substituted on Tuesday ? Was he carrying a knock or was he tiring? I didn''t notice if he was. It seemed strange that our best attacking player, the one who carried the most threat, was taken off. Pilkington came on which I have no complaints about but he should have replaced Snodgrass who wasn''t as effective. Also what was the use of bringing Elmander on, as I really can''t see what he adds to the team. He doesn''t have pace and rarely scores. Out of all the players Hughton has brought in, he is the one I am disappointed about the most. I hope he proves me wrong in the remaining games. If we are going to change things around in the final half an hour of a game, I''d say that''s the ideal time to bring on Wes, as he is different from the other players we have and he can create something out of nothing. That''s my opinion, what are yours?
Redmond and Hooper were taken off to ''freshen things up''. Source: Chris Hughton.
 21.

Hind sight is always 20/20 vision.
Hi Ricardo. Thanks for the reports, I always enjoy reading them on a Saturday night. Did you watch the game last night? I can only speak for myself but I think most City fans were nonplussed by Elmander''s introduction and could predict that we were going to be less of an attacking threat as a result. I don''t think hindsight has anything to do with it.
Yes I watched it on a stream last night.I never think it wise to second guess team changes or substitutions because none of us are privy to what goes on behind the scenes with regard to fitness or who is carrying an injury. The manager makes what changes he thinks necessary having full knowledge of this and he will be the only one to pay with his head if he gets it wrong. City had plenty of opportunities to score and didn''t and keeping the same personnel on the pitch for the whole match would have been a triumph of hope over experience. Why the armchair critics think they know best is beyond me. They aren''t the ones who will be getting the sack when it all goes tits up. A manager lives or dies by his results and the way things are going CH is already on life support.A few weeks ago the critics were full of how they didn''t care about results as long as we played attacking football. At the time I was berated because I said that this was nonsense and only results counted. Now that we have had some decent displays but no credit in the way of points a lot of people are coming round to my way of thinking. Results are the ONLY thing that matter in the long run.West Ham were rubbish last night but got the points. Does anybody think that their fans care about their performance????12 games to go and as I said at the end of October, we will be in it right to the bitter end. It is usually possible to call it after Xmas but not this year but looking at the goal differences you would have to say that we are fast becoming 3rd favourites. Lots of teams won''t get 40 points and 36 points could well be safe. 3 wins and 3 draws needed, home games are fast becoming "must wins".
I agree with much of that - only the management team know exactly what''s going on regarding players'' fitness, anyone carrying/picking up a knock etc. I concur that making substitutions was a logical step. It also goes without saying (to me anyway) that CH is trying to do his best for the team and win matches. However I disagree that it is never wise to question a manger''s substitutions. Even allowing for what we know we don''t know, a number of questions persist: Why bring on a striker who is clearly best suited to play in a two as a lone striker? Why not bring on the Wolf, given he was first choice striking sub on Saturday and was clearly fit enough to get on in the last five? He''s much more suited to playing as a lone striker. Why take off Redmond? I don''t think we should be over-reliant on young Nathan but he was having a good game, no sign of injury plus you have to factor in we have no game this weekend. Last night has moved me from the fence to the out camp. I think it''s made even worse by the fact that our last manager was so pro-active during a game.
