1.

Slaven Bilic, unfortunately no chance.
I would have said that about Laudrup to Swansea
He took over at Besiktas in the summer so I think he''d be unlikely to want to change clubs a mere 5 months later. Regardless, the compensation required would probably be large. He would be a very good candidate though.
 2. Elmander made a meal of it, but if you walk towards someone and place your head near to theirs, particularly in the "cauldron" of a heated and competitive football match, you''re asking for trouble.
 3. "However I admit that I am a fan of the goal music. I dont even know why to be honest... I think because I''ve grown up with it so to speak." Now for me, that''s part of the problem. People who have grown up with goal music and known no different (which isn''t their fault) and reject the alternative of getting rid of it (in which case, it is your fault). " Presuming of course that you are speaking from personal experience, of a time when you went to Norwich games before goal music, who''s to say that rejecting the alternative of getting rid of it is the fault of those who have grown up with it? You didn''t grow up with it, and you don''t want it. Others have grown up with it and do want it, or at least don''t mind it. Who''s right? Everyone, but ultimately only to themselves. For the record, I was a fan of the goal music growing up, though I can now see that it was slightly unnecessary at points. But as Morty says, ultimately it''s the fact that a Norwich goal was scored that is being celebrated, so goal music really doesn''t make a difference either way in my opinion, though I can see how it annoys some people. But hey, you can''t please all the people all of the time. [;)]
 4. Talks taking place between West Ham and Norwich regarding Ricardo Vaz Te.
 5. Add Corinthians and possibly Atlético Mineiro to that list too. Although it can be difficult to directly compare European and South American football, similar in a way to trying to compare mens and womens football, I would say that there are still quite a few teams outside of Europe that are either on a par with, or who are better than Norwich. I would agree with Norwich being about 9th best in England though, and the fact that they''re even in the top-100 of the world & Europe is great testament to the progress that the club has made over the last 4 years or so.
 6. In all fairness, there could be something in this one. I drove past Colney at about half 11 last night and noticed a rather nice black car parked near to the entrance, headlights on with the gates up. Of course it could just be an executive, member of staff or maybe even just a cleaner, but just thought I''d put it out there in case anything does come of this.
 7.
West Ham spent 56m on wages compared to 37 for us in the previous season. 50% more,
And yet it only got them 1 place above and 2 points more than Norwich.
 8.
That''s not a fact though, you''d be lucky to get 5m for a standard keeper these days. The only fact here is Villa aren''t interested. But if you want a back up Given is available
The amount of money given to each club in the Premier League increases, transfer fees for players has been increasing substantially over the last decade or so, and yet this results in it being "lucky to get £5m for a standard keeper"? [:S]For the record, I think most of the reason as to why there haven''t been many GK''s who have been transferred for a fee of over £10m across the world is because the majority of goalkeepers are either purchased young, come through the youth ranks or quite simply don''t play at all. For instance Arsenal bought Szczesny for a nominal fee when he joined from Legia Warsaw at a young age, the likes of Casillas and Valdés came through the youth ranks at their respective clubs and then you have to remember that there can only be one registered goalkeeper per team on the pitch at any time, meaning that the chances may well be reduced, particularly when compared to outfield positions (for instance, a CM may be able to deputise at DM or AMC). This means that the first-11 goalkeeping personnel for many clubs is relatively consistent - how many PL teams appear to have changed their first choice goalie for the upcoming season? I can only think of Fulham (Stekelenburg) at the moment.
 9. Not sure if it''s already been posted here, but I was doing a bit of browsing earlier and came across a BBC article from 2010 linking Liverpool with Toivonen.http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/8952889.stmThere was another article where Hodgson was quoted talking about the player; I can''t seem to find the article in question but basically to summarise he said he was a good player but wasn''t the type of player that Liverpool were after at the time.
 10.
We would have paid £8.5m for him in January if SCL let him go so it looks like the money was from this season just gone.
I think the majority of Sporting Lisbon''s share of the transfer fee (remember that RVW was partly owned by a third-party) was paid around about when the deal was announced. I seem to remember it being reported that this was done so that Sporting Lisbon could try and avoid not being able to pay their staff, since they seem to be in a bit of a financial pickle at the moment.
 11.
Congrats for Yeovil they''re sure a model to follow. Going up from the Conference to the Championship in 10 years as a small tin pot pub team is no small feat. That Daddy Madden striker looked the real deal but doubt he''s on wages we can afford :( Anyhow enjoy the match tonight gonna be screaming my lungs out here at Bjarni Fel sportbar watching the game. If ane yellas is here in Iceland please join me.
I''m a Yeovil Town supporter, despite being born and raised in Norwich... don''t ask! [:P] I was at the game yesterday, the atmosphere was fantastic. Gary Johnson is an absolute hero among Yeovil fans and rightfully so. In the build-up to the game I had a good feeling that we were going to be properly prepared, and I think that came across in how we played in the first half. Pretty much all of the second-half was squeaky bum time - my heart rate has only just returned to normal! - but in the end I think as a club we deserve the promotion. Historic and exciting times for another so-called "little old club". Oh and as much as I want to see Norwich do well (I consider Norwich my second team), I''d prefer to see Yeovil keep hold of Paddy Madden next season. [;)]
 12.
England are 3rd seed, Countries who are still some way off, or are in decline.. once great nations but no more... the likes of Ukraine, Poland, Belgium, Honduras are now Englands level... The british nations wont get any lower.. but they wont improve...
Can''t say I agree with this. Firstly Belgium are a very effective and talented team, what with the likes of Hazard, Fellaini, Vossen, Kompany and others being in there. Secondly I wouldn''t say any of those countries are examples of "once great nations" in footballing terms - if you had stated the likes of Hungary and Sweden then I might be more inclined to agree with you, however still I don''t think this is an accurate comparison. If there were to be a comparison I''d say the England senior team are at a level more equivalent to a country such as Portugal - a handful of undoubtedly very talented players playing in a team of overall decent/good quality. Thirdly, there is of course every chance that the British nations could get lower, though as it stands at the moment for Scotland they''d do pretty well to do any worse than they currently are, just the same as they could all improve. I certainly think the future for Welsh football looks promising.
 13.
If the FA is a monopoly and a law unto themselves, and there is no alternative "body" that can challenge them, and their decisions are final, irrespective of whether they are right or wrong, then THEY should be aware of the shortcomings of their processes - in particular their disciplinary process - and address them appropriately!     Totally and utterly agree. It seems amazing that the player got away with the challenge but John Carver gets charged. Stupidity in the extreme.
Reminds me of the whole debacle around Nicklas Bendtner getting fined €100,000 for showing underwear which had the logo of a non-UEFA approved betting company. So unfortunately it all seems to stem from the very top of the game - unsurprisingly I might add.
 14. As far as I''ve understood the situation, the FA either can''t/say they can''t do anything because one of the assistant referees saw the incident and decided not to act on it.
 15.
I''m not nutty nigel, I''m nigel nutty. Big difference!
With the greatest respect, having had the misfortune to read a lot of your posts, I think City1st is correct in his presumption that some fresh air and some time away from this forum might do you a world of good.Back on topic... I think clubs such as Norwich and Swansea, who place emphasis on financial sensibility and long-term planning, will be the role models for many aspiring and even current Premier League clubs, of course excluding those at the very top of the league. But certainly those clubs who are deemed "established", or those who want to reach that stage, are more likely to look towards the likes of Norwich and Swansea for inspiration, and I think the figures in this graph, which I think are near enough accurate (or certainly enough so to maintain the point the graph is making), back up this point.
 16.
Bit nasty about us. It''s not as if we would stereotype them there scousers. Have to agree with City 1st. Cracking photos. Especially the brawl with Arsenal.
I think I know where I''d rather live. [;)]
 17. I wrote an application letter before the appointment of Grant at the tender age of about 15, emphasising my successes with Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on the version of Football Manager released at the time. I received a rejection letter thanking me for my interest, so I should imagine they do send a rejection letter to all applicants.
 18. I think he would be decent yeah, but it was only ever said in jest anyway. Someone I do think could be decent next year is Borini, provided Swansea don''t get up, or Graham from Watford could be good. At any rate, the defence will need to be shored up for next season in my opinion, particularly centre back - doesn''t neccessarily mean loads of new signings provided the coaches can improve the current CB''s.
 19.
At the end of the day we are a business and the prices for casuals and away supporters will go up in line with what is currently being paid on the premiership. So for all the moaners on here be prepared for casual tickets to be between £35 and £50 for games next season.
Maybe, but I still find it ridiculous I could go to an England game and get a good seat at Wembley for cheaper than that.
 20. Anyone still think it''s likely he could make the move to Carrow Road? Seeing him score today on MOTD made me remember all of the rumours that circulated about him moving to Norwich and of course, the confirmed reports that he was indeed in ASDA! [H]
 21. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A79323609 - one of the funniest things I''ve read in ages! Apparently, Norwich are in a very poor position, compared to Ipswich? Enjoy!
 22. I don''t come on here in months, come back to have a look to find out that there are adults acting extremely childish and pathetic. How sad, I used to like reading these forums especially as a fan of another team, now what''s the point when people are putting their personal hate and vendetta''s versus somebody trying to create a good discussion. Personally I thought this was an interesting topic to pick up and besides the immaturity of what I sincerely hope are teenagers not adults, have enjoyed reading.
