1.
update; Sunderland 0.84 points per game Norwich 0.94 points per game So lets say Norwich get 5 points in last 5 games (entirely possible) So that leaves Sunderland needing 9 points to tie with us or 10 for safety, now, bare in mind they have only won 6 games all season, and cannot seem to score at home. Lets say 3 wins and 2 draws? Seems like a tough task to me. There''s no new manager or north eastern derby win to build on now.. But not impossible, and boy, with a quick look at goals scored and conceded, they are frighteningly similar. Every goal scored or conceded could be pivotal come the end of the season.
1 draw :/

3. Thing is though, we play better and get points off the ''top'' teams whereas the ''lower'' teams we struggle....
4. Good post. Its all going to well up there at united. Pretty much everyone is expecting a easy 3-4 nil win, myself, just cant see it playing out like that. Otbc
5. Ruddy is having a very poor season IMO. Should of saved the 3rd. 4/10
6.

Must win or must not lose? Anyone considered a draw...our home form is pretty decent and if I was arsenal I would not fancy a tough away trip to carrow road.
A draw isn''t good enough??......Fulham''s last 4 games are Hull,Stoke,C.Palace and Spurs.....I''d fancy them to win 2 of them , whilst we''re losing our last 4......it has to be a win, this the the corner that Hughton has painted us into after months and months of complacency.
id take a draw and im also betting 75% of fans would take that. Why all of a sudden are we going to lose 4 in a row? Im pretty sure man city and spurs fans were betting on 3 points at our place and didnt. Very confident of getting 4-5 points out of our last 5. We have consistantly got points to games played this season.

8. Struggles to do what every Cb should do, and that''s to deal with a simple situation. Consistently poor.
9. Never liked stoke. Never will do. Pure luck alone might keep them up.
10.
Your numbers are all wrong. I think you have ignored the game in hand that Palace and Sunderland have. If I multiply 1.25 by 12 I get 15, that would put Palace on 41 points not 40. You have also made this task look more unachievable than it really is by putting the benchmark at 40 points, instead of the 37 or 38 that are more commonly required. Considering our last four fixtures we probably need to get 8 or 9 points in our next 7 games. I really can''t see Fulham or Cardiff getting out of a mess. But Sunderland? The form table is usually projected over past six games, they have 10 points from 6 in the form table, that is actually 1.67 points per game. Well above your figure of 1.375 (an inflated figure because 40 won''t be necessary to avoid 17th). Crystal Palace are in similar good form with 9 points from 6, 1.5 per game, well above your figure, and even further above the projection to 37 or 38. Saying that we are safe on 28 points is just silly really, we need to increase our current points tally by more than a third to reach 40 points, with some very difficult fixtures. Defeat at Villa would put us right back in the mire, a win at Villa and we could get some real distance, but last season we got sucked into a false sense of security and let our form drop and I don''t want that happening again.
If you look on the 2nd page buddy you will I have updated the stats. For me its between Sunderland, west brom and palace to go down....bar a complete collapse from ourselves...
11.
Our last 4 games prove writing off the final 4 games as automatic losses is pure folly.
Would be quite something if we were safe by then and had a big say in the title race and champion leagues spots. Would make a interesting and eventful end to the season...
12.
To reach 40 points we, and the teams level with us and below us, need to average the following points per game; 1.0625 – NCFC, Hull & Stoke 1.1177 – Swansea & WBA 1.25 – Palace 1.3125 – Fulham 1.375 – West Ham, Cardiff & Sunderland. Now let’s convert this to percentages, in other words how much better the teams around and below us need to perform over and above our level of performance to reach 40 points 0.00% - NCFC, Hull & Stoke 5.2% - Swansea & WBA 17.64% - Palace 23.53% Fulham 29.41% - West Ham, Cardiff & Swansea Can’t see seven teams outperforming us to the required level to send us down, so stats say we are already safe? Lies, damn lies and stats, eh! Just throwing it out their boys and girls.
ok, i like stats and numbers and now we have finally got some points on the board.....lets see the situation now... Norwich, Villa, Swansea - 1.09 Points per game and 0%Stoke - 1.18 and 9%Palace - 1.16 and 7%West brom - 1.36 and 27%Sunderland - 1.33 and 24%Cardiff - 1.63 and 54%Fulham - 1.72 and 63%Really shows how far west ham have grown, 4 wins in a row, some form. Not even considering them as above us. We have only very slighty got worse. Sunderland as it stands nowhere near safe, could the curse of the cup strike again? Looking at the previous figures Fulham, Cardiff, west brom, Sunderland all failing to increase points per game.I know these do not relate to fixtures but who would have had us down to get 3 points today? The one thing which does strike me is how poor west brom are/heading. Not really any new manager ''effect'' and are relying on gifts (Liverpool, fulham yesterday) to pick up cheap points. Out of sunderland, westbrom, stoke, palace and ourselves, i would take our current predicament over any of theirs.
13. Oh boy....if the fa crumble on this, then this could be the end of the premier league. Every single club in the league would be holding the fa at ransom inc us. Very embarrasing for everyone involved at west ham fc. Thank god we are not in their situation.
14. Good day, Bad day or status quo?Big wins for villa, brom and a huge win for fulham.Still the chance to establish the ''mid-table'' teams this season. As for norwich, so-so. we are very much in the gap between this... cant help but think the chance is there for us to keep well away from the scrap..
15. Great post Ric.Cant argue with the stats on this one. The only difference from this season to last is that there were 4-5 poor teams, whereas this season in my opinion there are as many as 10. Points difference teams pos. Arsenal (1-10) Hull = 19 Swansea (11-20) Sunderland = 7 pointslast season. Man utd (1-10) Liverpool = 21 Norwich (11-20) = 15 pointsSo there is no outright candidate you can say will quite possibly go down but more of a chance to establish a team as a ''Mid-table'' team.Sunderland - have quality, just cant get results...West ham - Big trouble, is carlton cole really going to get the goals to keep them up, im not so sure...home form crucialFulham - new manager form has passed, look very suspect at back.....need to keep hanging on to pack...Palace - Dark horses to stay up, now with belief....need to keep scoring, cant help but think they will crumble.Cardiff - Troubled. Does the owner know the current league position their in? Could fall away, could climb with home form...West brom - Similar situation to ourselves in a unusual kind of way, all be it shaky, still have quality..Norwich - Have to improve results against teams around us. Home form always been stable, away form key?Villa - Last years team w/o the firing Benteke. Need to invest in Jan.Stoke - League position a bit misleading. Always look poor and seem very lucky this season alone.Swansea - Not the team they were last year, maybe distracted with Europe. Good enough manager to keep them up and away from the scrap.  If i had to pick.CardiffFulhamPalace
16. Was at the game.Frustrated is an understatement.Ive been pro Hughton but he really isn''t helping himself.Snodgrass should have been dropped weeks ago. Redmond should be playing. Subs are simply just far too late. 86th Minute bring on our 9 mil pound striker.....Come on Chris. Thought he was going to have the balls to go two up front with hoops but no.. Wheres the passion? wheres the urgency to get the win? Players/ Fan need to see this. Why not throw the kitchen sink at a very poor Cardiff team?:(
17. When Tettey plays we are better.Fer and Howson have confidence to move further up the pitch. Simples
18.
From Walker to Lambert, whenever I''ve had a chance to watch City I''ve either made the 2+ hour trip to Norwich or travelled the country to away games.  Living in London a trip to White Hart Lane would take me only 45 minutes by foot, but I just can''t be bothered.  I had the game streaming yesterday but spent the whole second half in the kitchen, I''m just not interested.  We were cr@p under Peter Grant, Roeder was useless and Gunn took up to our lowest position in years, but I still enjoyed the buzz of a Saturday and going to football, but now its just gone.  Home games are bearable, but away from home I need to stay away otherwise it could be terminal. One man is destroying our club, one by one people are starting to see what he''s doing, and I really hope it changes before it''s too late.  Forget expanding Carrow Road, you might as well look at building a new hotel if things don''t change.  I''ve been brainwashed and will keep renewing my season ticket regardless of how we play and what league we''re in, but not everyone is as stupid.
LOL Grow up.
19. Am i the only one in thinking he has had a major chunk of luck up there at Villa?Imagine if Mr Benteke''s transfer had not gone through on the last day of last season transfer window or if Spurs or Arsenal ha the balls to bid for him in this window.....Take Benteke out of that team and it doesn''t make good viewing.26 Games now in the premier league without a clean sheet. Even that tells a story. You add cup competitions to that and its pathetic...
20. HATE TO ADMIT IT BUT...... To me that looks like a cracking away strip......
