1.

I ended my financial boycott at the Colchester game at the start of last season because i was impressed by the boardroom changes and the level of ambition shown in strengthening the team.  I posted that on here in reply to Blahx3 and joked how i`d paid £27 for the privilege of watching our biggest ever home defeat.  The new board were in place before the season started and we have been net spenders ever since.  And the results are.....?
Well you were had Mr Carrow. Because the policy for the close season, the money that was made available and the signings were sorted before Bowkett and Mcnally joined the board. So this level of ambition in strenthening the team was shown by Smith, Jones and Foulger and their ambition continued by persuading Bowkett to join the board and recruiting McNally as chief exec. And they achieved all that whilst giving refunds on what were already affordable family football prices. So unless Bowkett & Mcnally joined the board and managed to somehow magically backdate their influence to a couple of months before they came you have definitely been had!
Ambition?  Sheer panic more like.  They undermined the whole project by appointing Bryan Gunn before the new board was in place, one of the most catastrophic decisions this club has ever made.
2.
Matthew Rose? Neale Fenn?
I meant Matthew Rush - he must be the winner, can''t even get his name right. To be fair to the lad, he picked up a knee injury after a only couple of games with us which eventually ended his career.
3.
you have to have a certain amount of both in a team for it to be able to function properly. Say if you had all young players bar 1 or 2 it wouldn''t really work because the team would be inexperienced. So to a degree the team has to be balanced with youth and experience.
Quite so, you need a balance.  A key reason why we got relegated from the Prem in 1995 was that Chase had sold so many players who were in their prime (24-29ish) that we were left with a squad full of under 23s and over 30s.
4. Not sure what Paul McVeigh is doing but I saw him in the city last weekend.  Is he a free agent?
5. I''m not sure there''s much more we can add to this until we see the accounts for 09/10.  Last year they were delayed until after Christmas, although in previous years they''ve usually been available by the end of October.  The accounts go up to 31st May but sales/purchases/loans made over the summer are usually included under "post balance sheet events".
6.
it just proves how much guff Doomcaster spoke... if he had stayed at the club we''d be a league 2 side now with a nice 10 point deduction.
Precisely.
7. My selection this week is Olympiakos  v  Asteras Tripoli  (home win)  Best of luck one and all - let''s help GMF Get More Funds for Foncy! [Y]
8. I seem to remember Flecky getting plenty of stick when he came to Carrow Road with Chelsea and kissed the badge on his shirt . . . not that he was trying to wind us up or anything [:D]
9. Shyster knows perfectly well that nutty is on the bus back from Preston so isn''t here to sort him out. Pathetic.
10. A. Johnson at the Crystal Palace game near the end of the Prem season, when his outrageous dive earned them a point they didn''t deserve.
11. This would be funny if it wasn''t so pathetic . . . Drink-driving Lottery winner is sentenced "The court heard that [Michael] Carroll, of Downham Market, was seen by a stunned motorist swerving across the road, bumping into kerbs and driving straight over a roundabout on August 1.  He was eventually pulled over by police and was so drunk he urinated against his Citroen Picasso before falling to the ground." (Evening News 15 September)
12. What a pity we can''t have the J League as they play at about 5am our time on Saturday morning.  There''s a team in J2 called - wait for it -  Mito Hollyhock  [:D] It''s true folks [:O]

17. Slightly OT but does anyone know what happened to the giant green and yellow check flag that we used to pass over our heads in the 90s?  It was featured on the MotD intro for a season, then a couple of years later it disappeared.  I''d like to bring it back.
18. Local election campaigning all day, visiting mum in Dereham Hospital in the evening.
