  1. We''re newly promoted to the Premier League - of course the shirts are selling well! Errea could have designed the worst kits imaginable and STILL they''d sell well due to the feel good facto... oh, hang on. Oh I see what they''ve done now!
  2. I agree with Bethnal, this seasons kits have offered coverage that Errea, Aviva and Norwich would not otherwise have expected. The third kit is already well on its way to being considered so bad it''s good and will probably become something of a ''cult'' item in future years.
  3. Well, in so much as they featured in the ''Head''s gone'' section of Drivetime on Talksport yesterday afternoon with Adrian Durham and Darren Gough. Yes, yes, I know, I know, they''re both morons, Talksh!te is awful etc etc, but given our new kits have had a fair amount of reaction across this board and Drivetime must pull in over a million listeners I though I''d mention it. Durhams''s points were that... - Our home kit and third kits are hideous (although he thought the away was kit was ''alright'') - Not only is the third kit particularly awful but it''s the SAME colour as the home strip rendering it completely pointless Gough did come back... - The third kit is usually something a club can experiment and have a laugh with, and they''ll always be a few ''wacky'' dressers that will purchase it for that very reason. It''s not exactly of massive importance but gave me a chuckle when it came up as I think a good few of us share the same sentiments.
  4. I think much of what the OP mentions about how the club is run in this respect is just down to the nature of modern football being ruled by commercial interests. The club has to keep generating off-field income as part of a broader plan... - This seasons kits are indeed embarrassingly hideous but I''ve no doubt that the deal with Errea is far more attractive than using a ''bigger'' supplier. - Yes, they''re cringe-worthy but the Wembley Wall and 80th anniversary thing are just desperate ploys to generate more revenue. - With ticketing the rules of supply and demand will apply. If they keep selling at those pricing levels then don''t expect it to change. - The website is a generic / template and no doubt the most cost-effective way of producing it. It''s all horribly cynical but this is the reality of modern football. Money rules, and we''ll always be playing catch up with others.
  5. I think the general reaction of Leicester fans to Ranieri''s appointment has been that they''re quite underwhelmed and see him as one of those guys who''s just clinging on to the managerial merry go round. He may have been at some big clubs but he''s been sacked something like 6 times in the last 10 years and his latest position with Greece was an utter disaster. He''s also the complete opposite to Pearson who despite his quirks had got Leicester performing well, which won''t be great continuity for a side who had seemed to get to grips with Premier League football at the end of last season. The only reason he has a good win ratio is because he''s been at bigger clubs where they have had the resources and expectations to do well, but he has in almost every instance fallen short.... a perpetual failure.
  6. Articles like this are a waste time. I do remember one season when we were seen to have invested wisely and were touted to remain well clear of relegation... ...that was of course the year we were relegated after our supposedly impressive signings failed to deliver. I think this season will be more akin to our season under Lambert in the Premier League. We will be far more reliant on attitude, team spirit and Alex Neil''s meticulous game preparation than any big name signings.
  7. I''m sure this is a great deal for club commercially. I''m sure we''d never sign up for so long if it wasn''t! Errea have provided kits reaching across the categories of good (2011/12, 2014/15) bad (2013/14) and fugly (new kit) but I''d rather that than some generic template from a bigger supplier.
  8. I don''t consider myself an angry person but the more I see it the more annoyed I become! Firstly, there''s this celebration of a random ''80 years'' at Carrow Rd, which is just a cringeworthy, desperate commercial ploy. Then the shirt design itself is pretty uninspiring, but made totally dreadful by this ridiculous sponsor box. ... and all for just £48!!! Errea have produced some decent shirts (2011/12, and 2014/15) but how anyone could like this is totally beyond me.
  9. Crikey that''s awful. I can imagine Errea supplying a half and half kit and Aviva kicking of because their sponsor wasn''t clear enough... ... and Errea''s solution appears to be that of a half-ar$ed 12 year old!
  10. I had an epiphany that it''s going to be a yellow shirt (obviously), white V-neck collar, incorporating very fine diagonal white and green stripes of varying thicknesses (the green stripes generally being wider than the white) across the top half / third of the shirt. It''s a decent shirt!
  11. If this OP is to be taken seriously... You are definitely the annoying @rsehole that sits behind me in the lower Barclay and spouts out the most ridiculous negative bile throughout each and every game regardless of who and how we''re playing. ...and I claim my five pounds!
  12. I have heard a rumour that NA suffered a nervous breakdown and was relieved of his duties for that reason, which would make sense given his disappearance and supportive comments by the club in hoping he can return in some capacity come summer. If true you couldn''t say he was treated harshly. There is no ''source'' for this it''s just a rumour. It could even be old (completely untrue) news for all I know!
  13. According to the link they are only ''clap stick'' thingys that you get free with the evening news - so it''s not like they''re being placed under each and every seat in the ground. therefore I''d be surprised if the place is awash with them. I understand the use of clappers every once in a while but it''d be cringeworthy and utterly embarrassing if they were to appear on derby day! I think we can generate enough atmosphere for that one thank you!
  14. I always got the impression that the structure put in place over summer was specifically for Adams because he had zero managerial experience. The board could then focus on pedalling the fact he had previously performed well as a ''coach'' and this footballing board thingy would be there to support him as a manager. The whole thing then lost most of its credibility when Royle left almost as soon as he was appointed!
  15. Indeed. I guess that sometimes health scares of that nature might cause you to lose that ''edge'' if you''re working in a high pressure environment too. My Oscar Garcia thoughts amount to being a moot point anyway!

  17. I believe so, I definitely recall reading a month or two ago that he''s ready to return to management.
  18. Why not? Because all achievements need to be considered in context, and on that basis Neil has achieved far, far more than McCoist!
  19. I''m quite torn by the prospect of Alex Neil becoming manager... There is a large part of me that totally agrees with Portman King (I''m very sorry everyone)... I''m merely saying that with your strongest squad ''on paper'' you''ve put it in the hands of two rookie managers. Wouldn''t it be better managed with someone who knows how to handle individuals, egos and the like? Someone who''s won this division before or the league below perhaps? I just don''t know what boxes this Alex Neil ticks personally. It is indeed a HUGE gamble given the parachute payments and need to return to the Premier League in the very near future. Yet another part of me bemoaned the appointments of Hughton and Adams for lacking any vision or for being very ''run of the mill'' and typical of ''little old Norwich'' whereas I do feel this looks like a very imaginative appointment driven by a belief in Alex Neil that he can progress and build upon some very impressive early managerial experience, albeit in a very different situation with Hamilton Accies. Personally I feel Oscar Garcia formerly of Brighton has the Championship familiarity and record (and playing style) to warrant consideration as well as the gravitas from his playing days to manage the bigger ego''s and more senior players here. Of course every appointment is a gamble but Alex Neil strikes me as being more so than most. Let''s hope we''re praising McNally''s vision in the near future.
  20. The wife dragged me to a Beverley Knight gig at the UEA a few years back and who should I be standing next to but Dion Dublin! He''d scored for us v Blackpool away the night before so I congratulated him and shook his hand and had a very brief chat. He started to get more and more attention but was an absolute gent to the last. During his time with us I thought he was fantastic and this confirmed to me what an awesome chap he was. This was years ago and my wife still rips it out of me about how I appeared like a giddy schoolgirl in his presence. He was there with Jamie Cureton, although no seemed so bothered by him...
  21. Personally I thought the support (well, the Barclay/Snakepit) stuck well with the team after half time and got behind the team to a far greater extent than they deserved. Admittedly half way through the 2nd half it fizzled out, but that was long after the fayre on the pitch had done the same! I''m afraid the reaction after the game was totally justified in my opinion and I''d commend the fans for waiting until then to let their frustrations be known!
  22. This whole case against Evans seems so questionable. Yes, he''s been convicted and you have to give the verdict some credence but having read various articles describing the case, and considered Evans stance it''s still hard to be 100% convinced by the outcome. Perhaps I''m biased after a close friend of mine spent a night in the cells after being accused of rape. Only to be released the following morning when the girl in question seemed to realise she couldn''t ruin his life because she felt a bit dirty and regretted (consensually) sleeping with him. the Evans case just makes you wonder what would have happened if the process was to have run its course.
  23. Many thanks for the invite but I''m away on holiday so won''t be around (also means I''ll miss the Charlton and Rotherham games!)
  24. Wilbraham is in the goal scoring form of his life! (6 in 8 I think). More interestingly, I''m also writing this deep in the enemy territory that is Halesworth!
