Many thanks for your message 'Berkshire Canary' and my sincere condolences in the loss of your Mum. We can always find something to complain about in life and find fault with in our club but on this occasion there can be nothing but praise. The match was indeed a 'fitting tribute in itself!'

Today the club held a memorial service for families and friends of supporters that had died in the past year. It was a poignant occasion for me and my son to be a part of in memory of my father and the club chaplain Jon Norman conducted it very sensitively. Then we all observed that round of applause ahead of kick off. And to cap it off two added on time goals and a win that my father would have been talking about for weeks. A massive thank you to the club for arranging this. I had the opportunity to talk to Zoe Webber who attended the memorial service and this made me thankful that we do have an accessible club who cares for their fans. The club is not perfect, but on this occasion they should rightly be applauded.

Post and poster of the year

For me the poster of the year is Ricardo!!! Quite frankly whenever I can’t make a game I read his splendid report and know what really happened in the game. 👏👏👏👏 -

Humbled to be mentioned in this. The club are holding a memorial service on 4 January for all supporters who have lost loved ones in the past year at midday in one of the lounges that I’ll attend with my son. There will also be a commemoration just ahead of kick off with a minutes applause and photos displayed on the big screen. That’s going to be an emotional day. -
A new stand would be very nice. But, as you say, you’re probably reading a bit more into the article than what is stated and that could be simply the truth concerning a lack of UK bands touring in this area. Could be the pitch needing to be relaid but that would have been said? Or we need to prepare for a Premier League season? 😊

Agreed👍

Well that was an emotional afternoon. My Dad would have loved that game with such a wonderful atmosphere, great entertainment, a stirring Norwich fight back and sensational goals. Informing the supporters around me about my Dads’s death was really hard and they were so supportive and the whole experience was made so much more poignant as a young father behind me had brought his son to his first game. It felt like Norwich had lost one supporter but gained another.

Many thanks for all of your kind words following the death of my Dad. OTBC!

Loving this photograph although a few years before my time. However, I can remember the railings at the front being just like that when I first watched a game. And Bonds being advertised at the back of the River End.

Yes, Johansson looks quality. I noticed that he made another brilliant save last night in their game.

On Sunday my father died aged 90. Throughout his life he supported Norwich and introduced me to the highs and lows of being a supporter. I have subsequently introduced my son. He was born into a farming family and was one of nine in the Waveney valley where you either go north or south. He would bike eight miles to Diss train station to attend games as a boy because his father would not take him in the car as he was an 1p5wich fan. His fondest memories of following the team were undoubtedly the 59' cup run. I am unsure how many years Dad was a season ticket holder for, being a season ticket holder was more rare in his early life and not necessarily needed to attend, but he regularly followed Norwich for over 80 years. After the South Stand was built my father, son and me were able to sit together for almost twenty years which was very special. That to me was so nostalgic as I first stood on the terraces in the South Stand with Dad in the 60s and early 70s. Most seasons we would go to a few away games as well and we have witnessed some incredible games through the years. The day at Wembley in 2015 was incredible and I have a fabulous photo of us all on the platform at Wembley Park. The night at Portaloo Road was also very special when we beat them 5-1! The club has lost a loyal supporter but he has passed the baton onto me and my son.

Thank you! My memory is better than I thought! In my early days of watching football, (the late 60s early 70s) it was not unusual for a centre half to move to play at centre forward and vice versa in a game when injuries occurred. Those were the days when you only had ONE substitute. I'm too young to remember the time when there were no subs at all.

I seem to remember that Sutton played in his early games for us at centre half. I could have got that wrong? Unsure whether or not this was because of necessity due to some injuries or simply how he first made the first team?

The Last 2 Home Attendances
Mutley replied to essex canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Yes, we’ve put our prime location season tickets into the buyback scheme on several occasions since it’s inauguration and occasionally they have sold. However, very often they’ve not sold due to a handful remaining in the corners that were probably restricted as well. I’m sure they would have sold if they had been made available when for example 95% of the normal causal seats had gone. Some people are happy to pay for more expensive seats than sit in a corner or high up or beside the away supporters. -
It feels a little like the purchase of Christos Tzolis but it is not a €11m "package" according to Paddy Davitt, but still 'bulk of the Idah fee'. #NCFC working on a deal for #Croatian striker Ante Crnac Not quite the €11m reported. But bulk of the Idah #CelticFC fee If he is hungry and wants to learn then the Championship should be a level that he can excel in.

Barkley was certainly a success at Luton and was able to resurrect his career resulting in a move to a champions league team in Villa. Phillips could do the same, but it will all be about his hunger. However, even if he plays back towards his best it will probably/hopefully result in relegation just like Barkley at the Hatters.

My thoughts entirely.

It did. City Stand Ultra has the answer.

Many thanks for posting the clubs explanation. My initial concern was potential issues at the first game. Hopefully all will be well. I will take both versions of mine.

I received a new season ticket card last week. This was not entirely a surprise as the club has sent a new one occasionally to update/replace old ones. However, my son who sits next to me hasn’t been issued a new card. Has anyone else on here, who’s been a season ticket holder for some years, been issued a new card this close season?

It’s a commitment of £65 million but at the moment according to the EADT it’s Hutchinson £18m with add ons £20m Greaves £15m with add ons off ? Delap £15m with add ons £20m Muric £8m with add ons £10m As others have said, they are establishing a stronger championship team in the hope that these players develop and show themselves as good enough this season. Certainly all saleable assets. I was rather hoping that they would splash out £15m for Moore as he is not a Premiership player. if Delap is worth £15/20m then Sargent must be £25/30m.

Why do we also release our new kits so late?

I can remember a time when we would be wearing next seasons shirt playing the last game. I seem to remember that a top PL team did that too recently? Was it Liverpool? -
So, who will it be first game next season?
Mutley replied to TheBaldOne66's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
There seems to be a slight breaking of tradition in that our first home game coincides with the binners being at home. That’s why many on here were expecting a first game at home on 10 August. And we have QPR at home on the same day as the binners have Chelsea at home on 29 December. There could be more but those stood out straightaway to me. Of course TV might change that. -

Lets pray that there is no repeat of the violence involving Russian hooligans in Marseille at Euro 2016. Been finding this series on Channel 4 'Football Cops' an interesting watch: https://www.channel4.com/programmes/football-cops#:~:text=Watch Football Cops,Stream free on Channel 4
