1.

What if we spend a fortune on players and don''t reach the prem?
Then you sell those players. If you spend a bit on proven quality theres always a resale value. Look at Earnshaw, Ashton and even Etuhu. In general, when they''ve opened the purse strings - even a little - this board havent sustained a loss. Its no different to buying cheap clothing - it''s invariably of an inferior standard and requires replacement much sooner than goods of decent quality. It''s a false economy trying to find the cheapest of anything. You might have noticed that now, we dont really have any players of significant value to sell. Ha! And there was you, thinking asset stripping always meant the "end of the season fire sale"! Well - here''s the board being cleverer - they''ve innovated a much more progressive form of asset stripping which the fans (fingers crossed!) wont complain about. I like to call it "fearful negligence".
I know what your saying but where does this magical big pot of money come from to buy these players?  A loan? With how much interest? What happens if we actually pay well over the odds for a player and can''t get our money back? Or a couple of player get injured? What about the big wages of all these big players?  Do we get any money back on that?Lets say that this risk of buying these big players for big money works and we get into the prem.  How are we going to strengthen the team to have a chance of staying there?  When all the money will go on paying off the debt from the previous season getting us up

Surely better to speculate and try and reach the prem, invest a large chunk of the tv money when you get there and survive for 1 season and you could then clear a large portion of the debt in subsequent years. I don''t like the fact that football is all about money any more than you do but sadly that''s the way it is. The only way to succeed nowadays is to invest heavily in the team, West Brom have done this consistently since they got promoted with us and the results are there for all to see. They haven''t got a wealthy benefactor, they have however invested a far greater proportion of the money they recieved for being in the prem on players and when they have sold players they have spent a greater proportion of the money they sold them for on replacements. We have gone from a 7 million pound striker to a 600k striker in 3 years, says everyuthing as to why we are in the position we are to me.
I know mate, i really do see your point of view and it is valid.  It is a crying shame that football is so dependent on money and the very fact that a thread like this exists talking about money and football is sad but unfortunetlty it is the way football is these days.  All could say with regards to the WBA situation is that they went up in a far better state then us because they had been in the prem the previous year so they had already had a windfall and parachute payments and then they managed to stay up the year we went down giving them yet another year of prem money over us.  This mean''t that they had been able to spend money on players because they had already invested in other areas of the club which is were our money has gone.  I do disagree about the amounts needed to succeed though, look at hull, stoke and bristol city this year.  In my opinion its all about bargains and of course luck.  So lets just pray that GR finds us some bargains in the summer and with a bit of luck gets us up to where we belong back in the prem.

Which clubs have gone out of business?Gretna are pretty close, a perfect exmaple of pumping money into a club not working.
You list one club that has not gone out of business....
Ok Foghorn, no club has yet to go out of business to my knowledge, but this season could see the first with the way things are going for Gretna and Bournmouth.  Also i never stated that any club had gone out of business.Do you want ours to be the first?  Because by the sound of some poeple on here we will be if they get their way of almost unlimited spending to show ambition regardless of the consequences
 5.

WE DON''T HAVE ANY MONEY!!!...we are financially secure
Contradiction?
Ok i might have gone over the top with the whole not having any money but the jist of the post is clearIf you want to cut and paste the whole thread you can make it look like a contradiction go ahead.  Doesn''t change the fact that the club is financially well run sooner people stop living in a dreamland of huge money to spend the better
 6.

I''m sure a lot you people on hear aren''t going to agree with what I’m going to say but I think most of you all being delusional fools!!  You’re all your own worst enemies sitting in your arm chair dreaming of a secret stash of money hidden away at carrow road waiting to splash out each transfer window.  How many times do you have to be disappointed to realise......WE DON''T HAVE ANY MONEY!!!  Get over it and except it.  The club is well run and we are financially secure which is very important to me because I would rather have a club in the championship or even league 1 than no club at all.  I think we will spend around £2-3 million pounds this summer which will be more than the likes of Bristol, Plymouth, Burnley, Barnsley, Blackpool, Sheff Wed/Southampton (if they stay up) and all 3 promoted clubs.  Then I think you can expect the likes of Palace, Wolves, Cardiff, Preston, Coventry (if they stay up) to spend a similar amount.  Plus I wouldn''t expect the likes of Sheff Utd, Charlton, Watford, and Leicester to spend a huge amount more than that.Teams have proven in the past that you don''t have to spend big to get out of this division you need to spend right.  I recent times teams to have done this would include Us, Palace, Reading, Derby, Watford, Stoke (possibly this season) Hull (possibly this season) I give you an example of spending money wisely and I point you in the direction of Mark Hughes at Blackburn, Bennie McCarthy £1.5million and Roque Santa Cruz £1.5million are absolute bargains and that is what we need.  So please guys lets concentrate on positives, lets look at getting the right player for the club at the right price and not at getting any player as long as he costs a lot of money.  Southampton spent the best part of £5-6million pound last year and look where they are.  Spending big doesn''t mean success.
Most intelligent post of the day... ...if not the season.
"WE DON`T HAVE ANY MONEY"     "I think we will spend around £2-3m pounds this summer" Lol.  Probably about your level oh little furry one......
Ha Ha!!  A fair point and bit of a silly thing to say on my part!!  I should have said we don''t have MUCH money.Just trying to point out how unrelistic some people expectations are

And subsequently sold most of their better players.
Which clubs have gone out of business?Gretna are pretty close, a perfect exmaple of pumping money into a club not working. Thanks for your correction on Blackburn players, just off the top of my head about prices but it didn''t really matter as i was just trying to show that you don''t have to spend big to get a decent playerAs for Southampton, well most of the players they have sold have not really been players they have spent money on but more youth.  But while on the subject of them, look at the problems in there boardroom.  2/3 years ago the fans got there way by outing Rupet Lowe for exactly the same reason as what evryone on her is banging on about.  Now look at the state of them.....didn''t realise how good they had it and now they want him back
 8.
''We don''t have any money'' ''I think we will spend £2-3 million pounds this summer'' Hmmm....and you call other''s a word that rhymes with pool.......
Ok fair enough i can admit i might have overexagerated a bit about the not having any money, i probably should have said we don''t have much money but what i was trying to point out is that we don''t have a magically pot of cash sitting in Doncasters office which he refuses to let go of.I''m just a bit board of hearing everyone moan about what a bab state we''re when if you compare us to must other campionship clubs we ain''t doing that bad finacially as i''m sure we will spend in the summer but for most people on this board it simply will never be enough.Guess i''m just wishing people were a bit more relistic

 10.
Resiak and Earnie would be a good forward pair.........if only our board would give GR the money.
I think earnie is a proven goal scorer at this level and i would have little complaint if he came back to us.  As for Rasiak, living in Southampton i''ve seen him alot and i think he is overated, he is the kind of player we need in that he is big and strong but for me he is just to lazy!
 11. My Hopes and Expectations for next season are that we start the season in the Championship and not League1.  I think the main squad is good enough for the Championship but we need to add strength and deepth. I would like to see us keep Bertrand and Evans on season long loan or perm ideally, we need a new centre back like Taylor, a left sided midfielder, an attacking centre mid who will score goals, a big strong cart horse of a striker who will bag goals and another striker to be in and around the box in the right place at the right time to poach the goals.  Plus others to fill out the squad including 1 or 2 good old experienced pros from the premership to take over from Dion and Hucks.  I will be looking for us to finish in the top half of the table as a minimum and hopefully pushing for the playoffs.  I will be very disappointed to see Marshall go as other are suggesting on here, i think he is probably the best keeper in the Championship and we must keep him (good teams don''t sell ther best players), i would also be disappointed to see fozzy go because while he doesn''t score enough goals he is a solid championship player for the short term.  I''m hoping that the board has seen enough in Roeder to give him some money to spend even though i don''t believe we need huge money to succeed in this division as Bristol City have proven.
 12. The teams i wouls like to see go up automatic would be, WBA as they have the best squad in the league and probably play the best football as well.  I would also like to see Hull go up as i think they have put a great run together at the right time and it would interesting to see how they would cope in the Prem as they have the potential to be  massive club (biggest city in europe to never have a football team playing in the top flight).  The other team would like to see in the Prem is Palace, i''ve always liked Palace and Neil Warnock love him or hate him he is a character which will liven to Prem up now there is no Jose. Please don''t let Watford or Stoke go up!!!  2 of the worst footballing teams i have ever watched, it is just hoof hoof hoof!!  They make the old Wimbledon Crazy Gang look creative.
 13. You''re wrong, I think we will beat Burley, QPR and at least get a draw against the Scum which keep us easily safe.To be honest the way Southampton are playing we could already be safe because if there is one team down there who i can''t seee winning any games it is them as they have got:Bristol City - HCharlton - ABurnley - HWBA - ASheff Utd - HSaints are in BIG trouble!!!
 14. Got into football about the age of 8 - 10 years old, can''t honestly remember exact age but I know its something I''ve loved all my life.  I do believe that you should support your local team but as a kid growing up this isn''t always as easy as you guys are making out.  I grew up in West Sussex and my local team is Brighton and Hove Albion but I didn''t support them as a kid because i still lived a long way from the ground and they were never on TV so how could i support them.  As a kid I chopped and changed the team I support from Spurs to Liverpool to Palace until i found Norwich.  This was bought about because my uncles moved up to Norwich for work reasons and I started supporting them because the Premership had just started and they were a top team.  I used to come up and see my uncles every month and quite often got to see a match.  So my point is that I''m not a local lad and I started supporting Norwich for the glory so does that make me any less of a fan now that i''m still not a local lad and the glory has disappeared?  I don''t think so as i have supported the green and yellow through thick and thin and always do my best to see us a few times a season. I now live in Southampton and also follow (don''t support, i follow)  them as they are now my local team but Norwich City will always be my number 1. Also don''t hate the big 4 fans, I pitty them, because they don''t know what its like to watch a team lose so they can''t enjoy the winning as it is just something they exspect. Also another peice of information to validate my NCFC credential is although I live and work in Southampton I sit oppostie a binner at work and there is another one of the scum a few desks along.  Unbelieveable isn''t it?
 15.
Yep, well I think we do. Its about time (in football time, it is) we had a new one, I don''t like our current one,
I think the FlyBe sponsor is far better than when we were sponsored by Proton, i hated that kit purely because of the sponsor
 16. Hello, First timer here Huddersfield Vs Swansea, Away win Swansea flying high at the top of the league and Huddersfield struggling in the bottom half of the league Good Luck YankeeCanary!!
 17. I read that this morning as well and to be honest I don''t even trust the date on that paper and I certainly don''t believe this story.  It is just because of the Fergusion link.  Why would Man U want Lewis when Ben Foster is on his way back and Why would Liverpool want him when they still have Carson??
 18. IF we get into the playoffs i don''t really mind who we play as i think we can beat anyone in this league.  Having said that the 1 team i would want to aviod would be WBA as they clearly have the best squad on paper and can play some great football at times
 19. I watched the game last night and got to say that I was quite pleased to see how bad Big Dave Striker was.  He did nothing all match apart from 1 unlucky strike which hit the post.  I think further evidence that Roeder knows what he is doing and shipping Dave out was the best thing as he was never going to make the grade at Norwich
 20. I think we would all love to see Hucks stay with us if he could reproduce the kind of form which has made him such legend for us.  The big question is can he show the form of previous seasons? I think if he can get his hip fit then he can still do somehthing for us this season but in my opinion Hucks is now past his best, he has been a great player for us and will always be remembered as a true city legend.  I think we should except that he is going to leave and get his final big payday in the USA and good luck to him because he will rip teams to shreads over there.
 21. Ok i wasn''t at the match so my opinion probably doesn''t count for much but the way i see it is that in Hull we played a very good team last night who unlike ourselves have been consistent all season.  A draw is a good result against a team like Hull with lots of ex-prem players so lets not be negative and remember where we were and where we are now under GR. I don''t think there is anything wrong in changeing a winning team when you''ve got 3 games in 8 days as we have this week.  Rotation of a squad is essential to keep a freshness to the team game in game out.  It also keeps the players on there toes and reminds them that there is always someone waiting to take there place. I''m happy with last nights result and fully expect us to take all 3 points away to Leicester at the weekend and make it 14 unbeaten
 22. I think David James is clearly the best English keeper around at the moment but Grenn isn''t far behind.  Keepers do seem to get better once they are in their 30''s.  I can''t believe that Green was not in the squad ahead of Kirkland and Carson
 23.
No. What I am saying is that Roeder may well achieve success at Norwich and may even lead us to the promised land, but he is not in it IMO for the long term and is using Norwich to re launch his Managerial Career and will leave Norwich safe but ready for the same free fall next year-Its just an opinion which this board allows me to express. Thank God for it there is little else you can say these days without being told it is politically incorrect.I do not like the bloke never have and never will-don''t trust him. Wait and see his reaction when we start to lose! Another home Park 6 is just around the corner
Oh dear sandboy it sounds like Glenn Roeder is just one of the those characters you don''t like no matter what.  I feel very simlar about Steve Bruce even though he played for us, I just don''t like him!!  I think you do have a valid point that it will be interesting to see how GR reacts when results aren''t going our way which is going to happen sometime soon because you can''t keep a run like ours going forever.  Luckily for me I do like GR and I do like what he is doing at the club and I trust that he has found the right club for him and what he is building at the club will see a successful future which has not been seen for years
