Do you seriously beleive we would be any better off if this lily livered board hadnt sacked him after Burnley last season. Just take a look at Northern Ireland - hes doing superbly there isnt he?  Things have been worse? When? Yesterdays match was absolutely disgraceful, an insult. Mindless, instant gratification? 3 years of this muck and no sign of an end to it? Whats bloody instant about it? Last season was crap, the season before was crap - and this season is crap - some ''kneejerk'' ! If you want to beleive in the board players and management thats your right - but dont take out your own disatisfaction  about our pathetic results and the sad state of the club on supporters who arent happy with it - but who follow the shirt and not the personality.
Well said! 3 seasons of utter rubbish and who''s to blame for not sacking Worthy sooner and putting a no-mark like Grant in charge? The spineless board; sack ''em all!
2 Seasons of rubbish.  We made a decent stab of the premiership on a shoestring budget, played some good football and gave me some of my best moments as a norwich fan.  Harsh to say it was a season of utter rubbish. Agreed that the change was made too late though.  If we were going to do it we should have done it at the end of the first season down.  That would have given the new man a chance to do something with a decent transfer budget.
By 3 seasons Jimmy, i was taking THIS season into account. The premier season was not total rubbish in my opinion.

 3. Speak for yourself. Brellier has been garbage since day one. Le Juge? dont make me laugh. The sending off was an act of complete stupidity.(or worse)  Send him and his crappy flag back to scotland. Hes not fit to play for Norwich City.
 4. Listening to it on the radio this clown is dead right. If it wasnt for some guy called Ward, the scoreline could have reached double figures.
 5. Russell has done ok. The frenchman is crap. And he is also very stupid. He clearly didnt want to be out there, and engineered his sending off. Strangely enough we sounded more solid with 9 men. Perhaps beacuse Martin and Spillane give a toss. Many of these wastes of skin clearly dont.
 6.
i do think wolves will win, just due to fact cant see us losing two home games in space of 4days, very unlikely for us but you heard it here 1st someone getting a drumming soon as lottery would say "it could be YOUUUUUUUU" lol lets just hope it not 0-0 hey
A boring 0-0 wull suit me fine thank you. Anything is better than yet another defeat.
 7. West Ham played to 35,000 when they were bumming around the bottom of the Championship, like we are now? Pull the other one pal, its got jellied eels on it. For 3 seasons the size of our crowds has been restricted by the size of our gound. In the prem, 30,000 plus would be no problem for Norwich City. Have a nice weekend yourself.
 8.

Good point. According to Radio Norfolk sports bulletin this morning, we cannot afford to compete with MOST of the clubs in the championship. all this in spite of the fact we are the best supported club, for the last 3 seasons in this sorry league. A fan base the size of West Ham, and a playing budget the size of Burnley.  Thats about the size of it. Too much money is diverted into pet projects, that do not enhance the football club. Its time  to put football first.
You can no longer judge how rich a club is by its attendances. Back in the day you could (probably as recently as five years ago), but not now.
The fact our support is double that of many of our competitors is a massive advantage to the club. We cant even compete with stoke, preston, plymouth, hull, colchester, barnsley etc. etc. ad nauseam. To dismiss the fact that our support is so large, and its spending power also, is to swallow the boards line hook line and sinker.
 9. I wholeheartedly agree. The rising tide of dis-satisfaction around the city about the club, is entirely due to the circumstances you describe here. while Gary Doherty and Peter Grant take the brunt of the blame, the problem lies a lot deeper. Doheerty is not the greatest, but he is not the sole reason for the steep decline in the fortunes of Norwich City. Likewise Grant, a hard worker, if nothing else, who puts Worthington to shame in that respect. His lack of real managerial ability and experience should have precluded him from the position he now finds himself in. He is, at best, a number 2. Norwich City needed a Manager after Worthington. The board wanted a cheap option. Nearly a year down the line, after a humiliating live tv defeat against a pub team from a one horse town, Burnley, we find a situation, almost a mirror image developing, next Saturday teatime. Prudence with ambition? Its a sickening slogan.

 11.
Long-term infections, which can ebb and flow, are difficult to spot in the periods when they are relatively dormant. You seem to be suiggesting that among all the other battery of tests we give prospective playrs we should include extra tests for low grade infections which often defeat medical science? I concede that we are looking for thoroughbreds in good health, but if the player has recently been "off colour" but now feels better, are we to indulge in expensive tests? If this is the case then we ought to do it for all players, and have even less money for transfer fees. Whenever a player is signed there is a risk which cannot be entirely removed by conventional tests on skeleton and cardiac system. Was it our old player Asa Hartford who was found eventually to have a heart murmur? We have had a few other cases where there was complete disappointment. These cannot be spotted at the outset, even after all the recent developments of modern science. The fact remains that we signed an adaptable player on a free transfer who was a Scottish under 21 international, whatever that means, and who played several times for Rangers. I think that we had a bargain potentially, and if the illness can be indentifed we shall still have a bargain.
Interesting about Asa, he actually had a hole in the heart, which Leeds uncovered at his medical, scuppering a £200,000 move from West Brom. He later joined Manchester City, and had a short, but productive spell with us.
 12.
Grant will then be called tactically inept at going away playing attacking football and we lose. The bloke cant win. 1 up top against a team who are one of the faves to go up makes sense.....Actually Hucks normally gets slated for not tracking back, which im sure he still didnt do tuesday, so was it 2 up really? I remember worthy used to go 451/433 whatever you want to call it and if we won we were lucky, a draw he should have done more and a defeat was all his fault.....i see a little circle now reappearing..... But then alot of people have got city in the champions league on FM/Champ so that clearly makes them more aware than Grant and the rest of us.....
''Grant cant win''  Thats the problem. .
 13. If you get the chance, take a look in todays EDP. Danny Mills comes out fighting after Peter Grant labels him a cheat. The guy certainly doesnt pull any punches, but in the midst of a long and surprisingly well-measured tirade, he comes out with ''its comments from a man under pressure, looking for excuses for his own teams failings'' to describe Grants attack. Personally ive never liked Mills, I dont know anyone who knows him with a good word to say, but I read his comments with interest this morning. I cant recall an opponent making such derogatory remarks about the club or its manager. Is Mills in the know? is his opinion valid?
 14.
I hate to say it but I''m pretty sure we will lose the next two games (Wolves and Man City) by 2 or 3 nil. If this happens, then a lot of fans will start to lose faith with Grunt''s judgement and ability. If we lose against winless, pointless Sheffield Wednesday next Saturday, then I should say that it will be hard to find anybody who is prepared to back Grant. I hope Mr G can allay my fears about his competence and we see City turn on the style, but I won''t hold my breath.
Dont worry, even if this scenario is correct, there will be plenty of people who will back Grant to the hilt, and round on anybody who dares to criticise the sacred board.
 15. This is the fourth season of it. Im sick of it. Id much rather win. And i dont care how we do it. The phrase ''win ugly'' springs to mind.
 16.
What have the Martins done wrong?  Raised ason who is a striker who hasn''t scored while on a pro contract?  Is that enoungh for protest? Or are there some other Martins that I have missed.
Think he means the ''Turners''. Remember? those people that lent a couple of mill in exchange for a seat on the board. Along with the promise from Roger Munby that we wouldnt now have to sell Earnshaw, Safri, Etuhu et. al. .
 17. Well, you clearly pay attention to the comments, because its ''doing your head in''. Youre entitled to your opinion, others are entitled to theirs.
 18.

Proud of a team who set out to get a 0-0 draw, proud of a team that is not good enough, whose signings are not up to it, proud of a manager who aint got a clue, proud of a board without an ounce of ambition
No.. just the team for their brave performance last night Ricky. I was proud of my team at Highbury in 1973 when they won 3-0 but I was also proud of them last night.
A hat trick by Graham Paddon in the quarter final of the league cup. Now, that was a team.
 19. Hes hardly going to say his mate is crap is he? I recall the Burnley manager saying the same thing about Worthington before we sacked him. Pardew can keep his snout out.
 20. We would have lost this game whoever Grant had picked up front - its what we do. That said, the guy on radio Norfolk who blamed Cureton squarely for the defeat last night in spite of the fact he only played 2 minutes and would have won a penalty but for the referees view being obscured by his turban, was a complete nutter. How can you criticise Cureton and not Brown? Brown makes Dean Coney seem prolific by comparison.
 21.

Hmmm. we have started something here havent we Nutty Nigel? Im quite happy to accept that to accept you do not accuse me of being an Ipswich fan. The prattish intervention further up the board does nobody any favours. I was chuffed to see ipswich take a 4 goal thumping on saturday, as im sure was everyone. However, tuning in to the Championship programme on sunday, it didnt seem like they took a hiding, strangely enough they played well. Perhaps the best way of explaining my viewpoint, is that I am frustrated to the nth degree that Norwich City cannot put ipswich town in its place, and that lookls set to continue this season. These blind comments from some posters amount to a ''my dads bigger than your dad'' playground argument. I want to look deeper, why did they beat us, why did they finish above us, despite our many advantages, and how the hell can we make sure it NEVER happens again?
It seems the difference between us is that I am trying to enjoy this season for what it is where as you still have issues festering from seasons gone by. I''m sure we won''t fall out over it though. [B] HH44 specifically stated that ipswich are better than us THIS season which was the point where I entered the thread. I don''t believe they are better than us. They lost 4-0 on Saturday, I would imagine if we had lost 4-0 you would have been too blinded by our defensive failings to look any further than the result. I am hoping that under Grant the days of losing 4-0 are over but we have a couple of big tests coming up so if we lose 4-0 tonight I hope to see you here in the morning finding the positives! [;)] I posted elsewhere that I will believe a corner has been turned if we manage to get through the next 5 games with only a couple of odd goal defeats or better. I don''t think any team would seriously challenge for promotion while suffering 4 goal defeats. Getting back to the "they are better than us" debate that''s not happening here - it could be those extra thick yellow and green welding goggles[8-|] I wear but to me we are better all over the pitch than them.
Falling out is not an option Nigel, I will be listening to tonights game and doubtless wanting the same thing as you - an unlikely win.!
 22. The Palace game was massive, because it bought us time. 3 points, however gained, have given us breathing space, because our away record is so pathetic, we simply cannot expect anything from the next 2 games. Defeat against Palace, would set up the very real possibility of FIVE defeats on the spin, a crisis in anyones language. Lets see what happens tonight, im hoping for a point, but im not expecting one.
