1.
I cant argue about his player recruitment. Top notch Gunny [Y] But for me he showed his weaknesses during matches last year. He was very naive making substitutions and quite poor tactically. I for one hope he suceeds!
Building new squad is so far as we can go at moment. With players they have brought in lets hope management on pitch works well.
 2. Think the management team are doing an excellent job and lots of clubs would like to be progressing signingswise in the way we have done. Feel as though team is Norwich City again in the sense that our youth are being blended with what appear to be some very astute signings. Looking forward to new season.
 3. Alan Lee ran his socks off when he played here. It''s probably a case of he doesn''t want to be where he is.
 4. Pre-season has been excellent so far. Getting the winning mentality is so important and makeup of squad looks good with more to come. We couldn''t have expected more.
 5.

Dont get me wrong here I am delıghted that we''ve sıgned the bıg man. It just seems a bıt odd that they make such a bold statement about rebate money buyıng what could be a major pıece of the jıgsaw. As someone who had theır tıcket rebate claımed am I meant to feel guılty that my rebate was claımed? Maybe Im just beıng overly cynıcal (thıs ıs cıty we''re talkıng about [:P]) or maybe I am correct to be slıghtly wary of the ıntentıons of theır statement. Am I rıght to thınk they are tryıng to make those of us who claımed guılty or should I just gıve them the benefıt of the doubt? What do you guys thınk?
If you feel guilty then maybe your conscience is telling you something. When I feel guilty about something I realise that I have not covered myself in glory. There is no doubt that Foulger''s offer to match unclaimed rebate pound for pound was a phenomenally generous offer and I must admit that I got fed up with reading posters on here saying two things repeatedly :-   1. that Foulger shoudl just put in loads of money unconditionally and 2. I''m claiming my rebate............ so there. As if this was some magnificent gesture but it was more a childish and spiteful "I''ll show you" hissy fit   Those of us who dared to question the posters who announced (so proudly and triumphantly) that they were going to claim back their rebates were roundly criticized for being so bold as to ask why. One of the most popular reasons proffered was "I need the money" but if that was the case why commit the money in the first place ? It seemed to me that if we had managed to preserve Championship status then all was Ok but with relegation came pleas of poverty and "making a stand". IMO the whole charade was a bit pathetic but then, dare I say it, most of the discussion on this MB is empty, meaningless and pointlessly speculative anyway and for the most part generated by a little club of posters with thousands of posts to their names, a typical mutual appreciation society.
Be careful. 52 posts in approx 1 month. A couple of years and you will be well past the thousand mark. They soon add up.
 6.
Did anyone listen to the 4 oclock news on radio Norfolk They said that Maric wants to come to NCFC but that Gunny was keeping his answer under wraps for a couple of days. I am sure I did not mis hear this but they did not even mention him at 4.30
It was on again in the Sports News at 5.35pm. Exactly as you say.
 7. Was impressed with Askou on Saturday, even though I wasn''t sure who he was at the time, hope he signs.
 8. Was also impressed with those who played on Saturday and think that squad put together may be capable of doing well this season. Atmosphere was good too. Yes, looking forward to new season.
 9.
Of course I''m looking forward to the season. Not just City matches (but that''s the major part of course) but Soccer Saturday when City are away, Match of the Day. Super Sunday etc etc! Football is a drug.
There is a lot to enjoy with regards to football and not a question of +ive. v. -ive. all the time.
 10. As I always do, will be looking forward to the new season. Best to take each game as it comes, there will no doubt be many ups and downs. Div 1 new to NCFC so new teams to watch, some who get relatively small crowds and lower expectations but with supporters who still watch them. Hopefully BG will put together a decent squad and then we will just have to wait and see.
 11.

Two teeth FULL STOP! [+o(][sn]
I''m sure you''re no spring chicken yourself [+o(]
Those who comment on other peoples appearances in a derogatory way often think they are something special.
 12.

I''m sorry - but I think Glenn Roeder was spot on to release Huckerby. He had exactly the same injury problems in his last season with us. totally agree, if he was a horse they''d of shot him years ago.
Shame really that there are " supporters" who write in such a manner about a player who was a star for us and entertained us in the way he did. He also has a great affection for NCFC.
 13.
Does anybody have a view on my above post?  I just wondered if others thought the same way i did about teh ''fun'' in football not being like it used to be?
You would feel a lot better if you were a Burnley supporter." Football is not what it used to be" is a statement that has been iterated by fans for so long as I can remember and that goes back to the 1950''s, but you have a point in that wages etc have now gone past what is sensible.
 14.
I''m sorry - but I think Glenn Roeder was spot on to release Huckerby. He had exactly the same injury problems in his last season with us.
Sorry, but don''t think GR was spot on about anything especially re; Darren Huckerby, who had excellent season with San Jose last year.

The problem with CT is he waffles on endless unsubstantiated or assumptive drivel, jumps on every and any bandwagon is unable to stick to anything he say he will do and justifies it all by saying that he is only expressing his opinion and that he is persecuted for it, usually just before or after he does the same to someone connected to the club or this message board. Apart from that I miss his insightful comments. Oh yeah and now he''s branched in to martyrdom.
He was one of those who said he would purchase San Jose shirt from Subside and was patient enough to wait c8 weeks for arrival. Not all did that. He PM''d me many times and was always polite and considerate re; the delay. An OK bloke.
Oh well in that case I take it all back, thats a horse of a different colour. Gets you right there does that. If only more people would waste money of American football shirts the world would be a better place! God help us!
That wasn''t the point Mr Clever. The point was that he had the patience to wait and stick to something he said he would do, when someone suggested he wasn''t able to stick to anything he says he will do. Whether buying the shirt meets with your approval or not is irrelevant.
I know I know. I don''t want a row about it and I don''t have it in for CT. It''s just he epitomises the a small group on here that a) take it all to seriously b) isn''t able to have a consistent stance on anything, and c) attacks at the drop of a hat anything the club does without giving any benefit to doubt. CT is not a bad lad I''m sure and I wouldn''t want to isolate anybody or drive them away. But CT himself has admitted a attention seeking trait and throwing hissy fits and threatening not to post again is just part of all that. Post don''t post who cares. As for my opinions on buying football shirts you''re my opinion count for nothing but at least I''ll stick to it! Love Mr Clever
Wouldn''t disagree with any of that. Also good to see sense of humour re: Mr Clever.

 18. Will not be easy to find someone as good with finances how they are.
 19. There is also likely to be a wages bill of at least £3M, (last year it was £8.5M ). When Foulger speaks about "player budget" he is not just speaking about " Transfer Fees " but will include players wages. The Rebates are not just going towards purchasing players but also towards paying players'' wages.
 20.

We now have an extra 720k to spend on players because of those who didn''t claim their rebate. Will the Clingan sale be added to this amount? I''m just wondering who we will sign now? Grant Holt? Andy Bishop? Dickinson seems like he is going elsewhere now. Who else is there?
We dont have 720k extra to spend on players. We actually have 720k in total to spend on players, including the three that we have already signed.
The players budget also includes wages.
 21.

to the rest who didn''t have to but chose to - I expect you''ll really enjoy your cheap football next year. Hope that £1.2million the player budget has missed out on doesn''t scupper our chances too much eh? (I would put a sarcastic smilie in here but I''m not in the mood!)
I am paying quite enough to see League One football next season and see no reason to give the current incompetent bunch of boardroom and managerial incumbents another £80 of my money to squander. Did I mention that your self-righteousness makes me want to vomit?
Could afford to give back rebate but like yourself would not do so. Consider price of ST is enough for Div 1 football and considering there are 18,000 of us that should be enough to finance a club in Div 1 without asking for ST holders to give the club extra money. As for the self-righteousness, it does make you sick.
 22. Wonder how many fans were involved in the original poll. 20?. 100?. Does the poll have any significance at all?.
 23.

Don''t worry ricky, once we''ve been humiliated by the likes of Exeter and Brentford, I doubt many people will remain excited for the rest of the season...
Its a new season at this stage anything can happen... People need to stop being so fucking negative, stop all this bitching Lets see what happens before we all starting moaning about how we are going to fare against the likes of exeter and brentford
It is a new season and can''t see the pleasure in being so miserable about the prospects. Not bought a season ticket to be miserable all season, life is too short to be in abject misery about  a sport we are supposed to enjoy. Each to his/her own though.
 24.
We''ve done the anger thing to death. This thred is about looking forward to the new season. We are in Div 3, no whining or moaning is going to change this. You either look forward to the new season or sit at home moaning about things you can do nothing about.
Am looking forward to a new season as I always do but Div 1 sounds a lot better. We are in top division of two.
 25.
How on earth did Keegan fail at Newcastle? He took them from the bottom of what is now the Championship to runners up in the Premiership. He took Fulham from League 1 to the Championship comfortably. His Man City side (led incedentally by Hucks) absoloutly tore the Championship a new one and then kept them in the top flight. Then his 2nd tenure at Newcastle he had no control over who was going in and out of the club and left because he wanted to control, Newcastle were 6th in the the table when he left i beleive. Hardly a failure.
As I said earlier, hope he doesn''t get the job as he certainly is far from a failure.
