1. If he''s on a free and God (a.k.a. Paul Lambert) rates him then it''ll be a good signing. As to why he may prefer to come to us rather than an established Premier team he may be more likely to get first team football with us. Personally I can''t wait to see who the first signing is boing to be! Oh yeah, and I''m posting on an internet message board so I''m clearly egotistical. LOOK AT ME! I HAVE OPINONS! :P
2. "MaySixth added 09:22 - May 26 It genuinely amazes me if anyone is surprised with this. Or, indeed, they would moan. A Premiership class player is linked with a Premiership club." At least one binner has accepted the situation, we''re just a better team than them! As for Bullard, he seems like a decent bloke who works hard for his team, certainly wouldn''t mind to see him here, but as the OP said I hope we have more inspirational signings. Personally I''d like to see more players from below the PL desperate to prove themselves and young players that will be an investment. Bullard doesn''t fit either criteria for me.
3. We have a small enough squad as it is in terms of players who we actually play. I think a few of the fringe players who Lambert didn''t give games to in the Championship will go, but no one who''s been getting games. We just don''t have the money to replace them and provide cover for positions at the same time.
4. Have to admit, similar to the OP I never really understood why we hate Wolves, but reading the stories here ... well it''s despicable that they do this sort of thing. Shame they didn''t go down.
5.
Chrome isn''t good on here. [;)]
That''s the knowledge you get from having 1000 more posts than me I guess!
6. On a uni computer so have no choice on browser. But you should use Chrome, it''s faster than Firefox!
7. Eurgh, I hate it when my attempts a quoting things just sees a large amount of HTML on the page, apologies for that.
8.
Quote from Fry''s autobiography (funny, witty and revealing, according to The Mail on Sunday) Mr Valentine was kind and cardiganned and very interested in my views on cricket. He concluded that while Botham could swing the ball, his line and length were too erratic. Of Latin and Greek there was no discussion. Nor thankfully, of soccer.
If we''re going to get technical here, this quote is completely taken out of context. There is nothing to suggest that he doesn''t like football, just that he didn''t want to talk soccer with this Mr. Valentine. As someone mentioned before the use of the word "soccer" could imply that he was talking to an American, so perhaps he just can''t bear to hear our beautiful game called by its Americanised name. Or there could be a number of other reasons he didn''t want to talk about it, maybe he''d already spent the evening talking about it and didn''t want another convo. Perhaps he feared he''d have to explain its intricacies and wasn''t sure he had enough knowledge. Perhap this Mr. Valentine is one of those know-it-all types who remembers every stat from the year dot and so is an utter bore to talk to. Let''s not get on Fry''s back over this, the one thing we do know is that he loves this club and that''s good enough for me!
9. I''m not a massive frequenter of the message boards so maybe someone can answer me this. Why do we call them binners?
10. I agree with John that the whole premise is flawed, but I also agree with the article he linked, which in essence says "we need to be solid everywhere". Problem is there is no surefire way of staying in the Premier League else everyone would do it but you can always find teams which did it one way or another. Reading and Hull (last time they were promoted) both kept similar teams to the ones that took them up and had very successful first seasons. Then Hull bought in the big wages and failed, and Reading didn''t and failed. What can we learn there? Not much I do think that we need to strengthen our team, just as every team needs to in every summer break, but I also believe that the 5 year plan we had announced earlier this season which said (if I remember correctly) it includes one season in the PL followed by relegation and then a push to get back. Whatever we do we can''t make survival the be all and end all and when/if we come back down we''re in a strong enough position to mount another challenge. Eurgh, sorry about the rambling, I''m stuck in the library doing revision.
11. I''m moving to London this summer, have a feeling I''ll be frequenting this pub over the next year!
12. Yeah, I checked the website but they''re still saying TBA.  Just wondering whether anyone had noticed when said announcement would be made.  I can''t make it to the Coventry game so am really hopin I get to watch it!
13. Anyone know when Sky announce which game(s) they''ll be showing on Saturday?  Also do BBC have a match too?
14. I''m supposed to be adding another 2,000 words to my dissertation today.  Frankly I think it''s a little short-sighted of my University to put my deadline the day before the final game of the season.  They must know that I can''t work atm!
15. I do, they''ve flaunted the rules for a year and if the FA doesn''t do anything they might as well scrap the 3rd part ownership rules. I''m very glad that we''re going up on merit and not because they''ve been deducted points but the FA have to start standing up to rich clubs who break the rules
16. We''re slipping, 1st last year and only managed 2nd this year. I guess I''d settle for 3rd next year :P
17. Lol, unfortunately no, but I have managed to wangle a lift back.  Thanks a lot for your help tooze
18. Hey, I''m looking into getting the matchday bus from Aylsham (Sanders Coaches I think) for the first time on Tuesday.  Anyone know how much a one way ticket is?  Or whether it''s cheaper/easier to get a regular scheduled bus.  Cheers
19. NO DRUMS!!! A vuvuzela or two is clearly what we need!
20. Not having to listen to Forest fans talk about how they''re "massive" club. Only had to put up with the Leeds fans :(
21.
think the momentum will see us move foward and may get a play off place [maybe even promotion]otbc
Isn''t it a little early to be getting excited about play offs? A long way to go in the season. Given that we''ve only just come up from League 1 anything above 17th has to be considered a good season.
22. I actually had a soft spot for Leeds, never really thought they deserved to be down in this league. But then we played them, and they f*cked it up again, and now I think that there would be nothing funnier than to see Millwall go up instead.
23. Absolutely despise the Dongs, Franchise FC, Frenzies, whatever we''re calling them nowadays.  I agree, hate them more than Ipswich.  With Ipswich it''s a simple football rivalry, I love hating the scum, but with MK ... well imo they epitomise everything that''s wrong with football nowadays, money over fans.  The fact that they got away with purchasing a football club high up in the football tier rather than having to work their way up like every other club in existence sickens me, and the FA were falling overthemselves to let them do it and destroy Wimbledon.Sure Wimbledon weren''t the biggest club, and didn''t have the nicest set of fans, but at least they had history and had fought and earned a place in the professional tier, to be then relegated to the bottom of the league system because they "weren''t in the wider interests of the sport" is horrible.  Thankfully AFC have shown the FA what a committed, fan lead team can do with the will-power, and the sooner they book their place in the professional leagues where they belong the better.  And the Frnzies can f*ck off back to Norway."We''ll never be mastered, by Norweigan b*stards, we''re Wimbledon FC NOT Milton Keynes!"
