1. Righto! I don''t think anyone has done one yet and seeing over half the seasons gone now I''d thought I''d give me player ratings for the season. (Complete with separate section for the Loanee''s). Here goes......   Marshall         7      Could of given 6 but the amount of times he''s saved us easily outweighsany mstakes. Distribution is geting better though needs to command his area more. Otsemobor      6      Can get caught out defensievly but usually gets away with it cause of his pace. Does add another dimenion attacking wise when he does decide to bomb no. (Probably crossed more decent balls from the right wing than everyone else combined, see Croft) Shackell         4      A bit harsh maybe as when playing alongside Taylor he did look fairly good. Without him tho he''s been very poor. Average at best defensively and shocking distribution. He can no longer be given anymore time to ''come good'' given his age now so needs to buck his ideas up, sharply! Doc               7      Does make a few high profile mistakes (Charlton away). Like Marshall though has been more better than bad this season and has almost filled in Tiny''s shoes since he''s departed...................Apart from distribution which ain''t good. Mind you Shackell is making him look like Beckenbauer at the mo. Drury            5      Has been ging downhill for a few seasons and does let crosses come in far too easily and distribution wise has been poor. Hopefully will come back fit and read to go as he does have it in him to be a decent LB especially with some competition coming in. Murray         4      Oh Dear! Said he didn''t like playing LB when joining so Grant promply shoved himethere. Derveld seemed better there! Was better at CB but did seem lightweight for this league. Seems to be on his way to Falkirk. Wish him all the best if he does. Chadwick      6      Sicknote! Shame cause he is certainly skilful and clever enough in the final 3rd which we really lack at the mo. Croft              6      Frustrating doesn''t even to begin to describe it. If only he didn''t completely lose it in the final 3rd he would be quality. GAH! This has taken too long. Off out for new year''s now. Part 2 tomorrow. Have a good un everyone and a happy new year for all!
2. Not sure what game you were at last nite...... Rossi Jarvis was absolutely shocking! Poor set pieces, weak in the challenge when he was able to get to the player as for most of the match he was completely anonymous. True we could of scored a few times  (how unlucky was Martin with that shot). Then again we had more than a few let offs our end too and this against a very ordinary Scunthorpe team. Smith aside I can''t see how we''re going to improve. Cureton can''t get any goalscoring oppurtunities and he''s the only one who looks like scoring at the moment so how we''re going to win any games god only knows. Barring big changes at the club I just can''t see this getting any better. A few weeks ago maybe but not now. Still hopefully I''ll be proved wrong!  [:)]
3. Too right, Carrow Rd was like a morgue at times (apart from the Palace fans which was even more depressing!) Maybe its because of the football being played, maybe its because of fans looking to criticise rather thn support or maybe there are too many fairweather fans turning up when the goings good. Whatever it is we really need to get some of the atmosphere back. It was embarrassing at times today! Football wise I reckon we''re pretty close to a good team. We''ve played 5 games and we could have won all of them (bar Preston by the sounds of it) and without playing well (and without Smith & Fozzy). When we do play well (Cardiff 1st half) we seem to be a different class than most of the league. Only question is if Grant can get us playing like that for most of the season. Oh and well done Dave Striker!
4.
very average player, man utd let him go,stoke let him go,we buy him says it all really
Stoke only let him go as Chadwick was home sick. He was generally 1st choice in a good stoke team. The guy does seem lighweight against opposition players and can get knocked off the ball easily. The guy does get into good positions in front of the midfield though especially on the break and does seem to add some badly needed flair into the team. The only problem is if we can get him into some space, which in the championship can be a bit of a luxury. Its just about getting the balance right, which is a problem at the moment. Credit to him though for the work he put in on Sat, seemed to be everywhere in the 1st half.
5. Sunset, how can you base an argument against a manager when your first sentence critisices how poor the same guy was as a player was for the same club. Sounds like you have a  personnal vendetta against the guy. You then follow this up by raking a year old issue up (which by the way a number of the users on here are seems to be justified). Whilst I agree that Safri deserved better treatment considering  no one knew the full ins and outs of his exit. (My guess is simply his agents were too money hungry to let him settle), he was never going to be the player which would drive us out of this division. To compare him to Russell when they''re completely different players is just idiotic!  I''d like to see Martin play more and given the right attitude (Grant''s pre-season rant about people turning up fit was targeted at him I hear, true or not is just speculation) I reckon we''ll see more of him sooner rather than later. Even so most of us would love to see Martin play all guns blazing every week. I hope it happens soon as weurray and he admitted it could do with  a spark. Finally Grant did cock up with Murray and he admitted it. Can''t really argue against that to be fair.
6. Hi Y''all! 1st time poster (ooh!) but season ticket holder for a few years now. Thinking back to Saturdays game (t''is a bit hazy), I cannot remember Marshall having too many saves to make, even when we were playin absolute poo in the 1st half. What does that say about how the defence played! (Though the goal was a shambles). True both Shaks and Docherty were given a tough time by the Southampton forwards but I can''t remember them losing a challenge or the ball in an important area. Docherty even put in  number of great blocks. I know Docherty can be a liabilty at times (2nd goal at Barnet he was asleep) and their distribution can be woeful.(Shackell''s Saturday was poor) but perhaps they are doing a better job then we can see. It also helps that Drury is doing a lot better at LB and of course Semmy rather than Hooze at RB and that is without a fully fit Brellier protecting in front of them. True we could do with cover at least but as others have said is there really taht much out there for a reasonable price. Sodje aside who I think would be great, our best bet my be a young loan star a''la O''Dea/Shawcross. or perhaps Granty has bigger things in mind for Spillane (who looked great with Shackell away at the end against Sheff Wed last season). Only time will tell I guess.
