  1. It must also be noted that the players are very pro-Wagner. Something to consider, rocking the morale of the squad ahead of a PL season by getting rid of someone they rely on.
  2. 25-man playable named squad, only. No more u21 loopholes, if someone gets injured he can be replaced with a member of the youth team for the duration. Would make the lesser lights + young guns think twice about their playing time. Hopefully then you would see the quality trickle down the leagues; not sure the current wage situation would agree with this mind.
  3. Been seeing an improvement the past few weeks. I've concluded that Onel is now thinking about what he's going to do before he sets off, rather than start running and come up with it on the way. Looks strong & focused. Great to see, long may it continue.
  4. I said at the start of the season that it might be the first year all three promoted clubs come down, and all three relegated clubs go back up. The Premier League is utterly broken and we're the ones that signalled the start of the decline.
  5. Wagner deserves a lot of credit for how we are currently playing. Wagner also deserved questioning over not changing things up during the bad run, when we were missing 3-4 players vital to make the system work. There is something to be said for sticking with a system, however, now we can see clearly that without Sargent and (less so) Barnes + Sainz it was a busted flush. Yesterday did feel like a turning point. Wagners criticism of the fans has seemingly got the majority pulling in the right direction again- avoid key injuries and the last 13 games could be wild.
  6. I believe she came over with him, so the best we can hope for is dual nationality of Brazil/ Norfolk
  7. Sara is expecting a Sara Jr. Not sure why he's bothering as Wagner doesn't player youngsters.
  8. I dare say he's another that looks better now that we seemed to have balanced attack & defence. Definitely a player for the opposition box instead of your own. One of the biggest problems through the bad run (and even some of the not-so-bad runs) was that our players spent very little time in and around the opposition box. Lovely to see that coming around.
  9. There was another one down the Barclay end where he was in a footrace with the defender. Got just inside the corner of the box and stuck his leg out to get contact. It was a savvy little move and the sort of thing VAR gives regularly. No-go in the Championship though. In a broad sense I didn't mind the ref. there were a few questionable offsides and no card for an NFL-style tackle late on, but generally stayed out of the way when he could.
  10. He is indeed, and I'm still trying to work out if it's a positive that we have 4 centre backs potentially looking for a first team spot next season.
  11. Na, na na na na, na na na na, na nana na nana, Kenny McLean. Tricky one for beginners
  12. Agree with sentiments about the atmosphere. Crowd notably more engaged, certainly helps that they've been all over Cardiff Need to come out strong in the second half, get the next goal and see this off.
  13. I heard the staff vociferously booed the server and it actually inspired it to run even faster than before
  14. I don't have much to add on the above Hernandez commentary, however it has struck me that he looks a lot more keyed-in in recent weeks. He looks like he's taking his minutes on the pitch a lot more seriously, and has a couple of assists as a result. I for one would love to see an Onel CR goal soon.
  15. Thing is, I don't think there's a difference 'twixt the two here. The booing may have been aimed at the manager, but it's very apparent that the players are firmly behind said manager. Therefore within the group, the booing is taken as an attack on the whole as opposed to just one individual. I happen to think if the hostility was only felt by Wagner, he wouldn't have said what he said post-match; I think he saw his players hurting and reacted emotionally.
  16. See, this is where I keep coming back to with this disconnect thing. Seems to me the disconnect is shorthand for 'we don't think we're very good at the moment' Regardless, a united front might just tip us over. I'm all for it.
  17. I would add to this the phenomena of stating that the club holds an 'us vs them' stance whilst holding an 'us vs them' stance. This is what I've been trying to get my head around with this disconnect/ disillusionment thing. The parameters for the club solving the issues from their side seem to be simply impossible to fulfill. Meanwhile there is little to no interest in trying to build bridges from the other end. All we ask, is that we have a manager who buys into the club, cares, has the players behind him and is capable of hitting at least Championship top 6. Unless it's the one we have already.
  18. Adrian Leijer Or my funny answer was going to be Jonny Rowe. But I feel like this is not the time.
  19. I did wonder what the Watford fans thought of the display yesterday. I can't imagine they even knew what the hostility was for.
  20. When it comes to the disconnect, I feel a little disconnected. If some of you could explain to me what you mean by this disconnect I'd appreciate that. Not being disingenuous, I just don't really understand why or what makes it such a decisive issue. My current impression is that it seems to be a question of whether or not we are currently successful. And we aren't particularly successful, so there is a disconnect.
  21. And therein lies slightly more of the mystery surrounding our team currently. As Ashton said on co-commentary- I must say I was very impressed with him and would have him there more often than not- all the little odd errors, passes straight out of play & things like your winger trying to score OG of the season will add up. It gives the opposition encouragement, each one making them feel more and more bold whilst making our players and crowd more nervy. The frustration I believe a lot of people feel is that we don't particularly need to try and lob our own keeper, or have Kenny & Barnes each try and set up a Watford goal. These things seem reasonably avoidable. And yet they continue to happen.
  22. My personal opinion was that the Coventry setup + performance was the best we've seen since the first 5 games. This built on other positives present from the WBA game. We went back Barnesball for QPR, I thought we were barely in the game until that 15 minute burst in which we scored our goals, then the subs killed us. I suppose my hope was the contrasting performances would inform change in the lineup. Sorenson I've never been convinced at all of at CB and I felt this was a bonkers thing to do against Watford. Nunez I presumed was being saved for this game and yet 97 minute 34yo Barnes was starting again. I felt like we'd picked a much weaker side that we needed; I'm generally just not a fan of this mutant 4-4-2 we play. It must also be said that when Barnes popped up with the opener I mentioned to the person I was watching with that I'd never had very good taste anyway.
  23. @Parma Ham's gone mouldy I thought to myself last night, if one could summarise the Wagner approach as microcosm, it would the Sargent penalty last night. A relatively poor penalty, down the middle, but the rebound scored with a header. A positive way to resolve a negative situation caused by poor execution
