At least I now know what the "M" stands for in MOTD.  Excellent work of musical genius - no doubt being played on a loop in the Mills'' household.

Have you not watched any of the snowboarding events? They''ve been awesome especially the boardercross 6 board races. They''ve had me on the edge of my settee. Jennie Jones winning a medal was amazing. Then there''s the half-pipe.

Certainly been more eventful then most of our games this season.

And unlike some players who look as though they''ve been floored by a sniper when they trip over a blade of grass, the snowboarders and skiers just get up and brush the snow off themselves after some horrendous crashes!

Good point - hadn''t occurred to me.  I remember one of the girls in the slopestyle final crashed hard enough to shatter her helmet but got up after a couple of minutes, rode carefully down to the bottom and seemed fine once she''d had a hug off the other girls.

Mind you, a hug off those girls would probably bring the dead back to life.

We couldn''t try that as a cure in football though as the players would all be lying in the ground angling for a snog as soon as the game started.

Oh I see...that''s what Snoddy is angling for!!!!  It all makes sense now! [:)]

I think this would be a lot more realistic if we added the page to the St Andrews Hall web site...

Thanks Nutty!  Through that link I discovered that Carl Palmer of ELP fame is playing St Andrews Hall at the same time as we play Spurs at home.  Almighty dilemma now as I''ve waited years to see him play and I can imagine coming away from St Andrews Hall with a smile on my face as opposed to the potential outcome at Carra Rud!!!

Snoddy is a good championship player, not prem quality.
To that list you can add;

    Martin
    Bradders
    Turner
    Garrido
    Elmander
    Becchio
    Hoolahan
and, frankly on the basis of what we''ve seen, V Wolfswinkel.

Oh ,and a Championship standard manager/coaches, while you are about it.
Don''t know how you can include Becchio on that list - he''s hardly had a chance to prove himself in the Prem has he?
Well, Your Lordship, if young Luciano cannot even get into a team who''ve scored  just6 goals in 13 games, we sort of have to take it as read, don''t we ??
Alternatively, it could be a bad management decision!!!

  7. Met Canary fans all over the world but strangest incidence probably was walking into a small pub in St Peter''s Port, Guernsey to see a largest black and white photo of a City team from the 1950''s behind the bar (and not the 1959 Cup Team).  Turns out that the landlady was former City keeper Ken Oxford''s daughter.

  8.
Clubs are businesses, not charities. Why would they drop ticket prices when they''re filling the stadium more or less every game? There doesn''t seem to be a particular shortage of young fans at carrow rd, so I''d say there''s not a real problem with pricing the next generation of fans out of the game. Rooney''s wages are presumably worth the outlay to Man Utd. If he''s worth it, why shouldn''t he get it? If they''re not willing to pay what he thinks he''s worth then he can move on.
Interesting point relating to the next generation, as I know a number of youngsters who have had to give up watching when they leave the financial cushion of youth and are confronted with adult prices.  So, not a given that they will automatically be there for the future.

  9. My earliest memories of Carrow Road are standing three quarters of the way towards the back of the Barclay in the late 60s next to Lil and Pat and Lil''s family.  Lil still sits in the Lower Barclay Block B (a bit nearer the front nowadays).  Her and Pat are the sort of people who should have statues erected outside grounds.  Lil would take no nonsense from anyone and God forbid if you made any comments about her family.  I have no idea how old Lil is but I hope I''m still coming to games at the age she is with a similar amount of passion.  I well remember bumping into Lil on a wet night at Burnley in the mid-70s when they dumped us out of the League Cup.  Her and a handful of City fans had made the long journey and she was as encouraging as ever (whilst I had only made the short hop from Salford to Burnley).  I always try and have a word with her when I can and she should be written into the history of the Club with as much reverence as the likes of Geoff Watling.

With regards to the tall dark haired gent and his girlfriend referred to in someone else''s post, I think you are referring to my old school mate James Woodrow and his partner Jasmine who have been almost ever present at games since the mid-60s.
