  1. Its generally ok, I''ve been to Crewe, Bradford, Manchesters, Preston, Leeds, Burnley, Liverpool, and some other places I can''t remember and the worst I''ve managed is a scally manchunian on a dodgy bus through manchester making some sarcy remark about green n'' yella innit!?

I can''t see Leicester being any worse to be honest, i think the only games you have to watch are Millwall and Cardiff, but maybe not?

The Pink''Un site has an away guide, good enough place to start :)

  2. Does this mean Wigan are going into Europe and out of the Premiership next season?  Only to be stuck without money!?

Actually, that wouldn''t work, that JJB guy pumps money into them like its going out of fashion.

    The main difference is this:

Wigan         Big Spenders of JJB guy''s money

Ips*it           Big spenders of loanded money

Norwich      Sensible spenders of fan''s money

    Sunderland  Crap

  3. Its not so much this "Paul Rankin" fellow, as every "Worthy-Out" munchkin!

It seems any mistake made by anyone at the club, is directly attributible to Worthy, according to some "fans"!  Unless of course it is one of the "quality" players, in which case they didn''t make a mistake at all!

Grow Up Boys and Girls!  He''s not perfect, but I doubt we''ll get a better manager coming to Norwich soon, I''d wager if we asked Burley he''d probably tell us to go away, regardless of what your doctor heard from your dentist''s bin-man!

  4. Keepers are exempt from the injury rule, similarly if a keeper is injured play always stops. If a player is seriously injured, play tends to be stopped regardless of whether it is head or not.

Its when the ball is played that counts, you can''t run back onside then chase as far as I know.  Never really seen Hendo play but from whats being said he doesn''t sound like he''s ready for first team now?  Or does he need building in?

  5. We should sack Worthy because a number of people who hang out on message boards decide its a good idea!

They say that there are many quality managers out there who would be willing to come to Norwich with the prospect a well managed club who won''t spend millions on players (since we can''t afford to) with really good supporters (until we start to lose and everyone sharpens their knives!).

I''m still firmly in the "Worthy In" camp (it seems to be the fashion to declare where you lie).  He has done a good job and I feel that alot of our problems this year are in the fans and the player''s minds.  There is a mentality that we have a stonkingly good squad (I''d say good for this division, but not good enough to storm it as some people think we should be), and that Worthy is to blame, when short of some (the usual) tactical errors we''re not playing too badly and things are on the mend.

The club has, a relegation hang over, in my opinion, and the play offs are still well within our reach (as is 2nd place i''d wager).

If anyone can think of a manager who''d realistically come to Norwich who doens''t have some kind of weakness I''d like to know.  Keegan was a name I read, and he certainly has a problem (ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK!) and Martin O''Neil isn''t going to come back to Norwich, some league 2 manager would be too much of a gamble, the list goes on, but nobody has come up with a reasonable and worthwhile suggestion.

Also all these bloody "Polls" and that sickening open letter are beyond belief.  Do you really believe what was written?  How much more do you claim to know about football than the entire management team, and exactly what would we gain from sacking an entire coaching staff?  I''m not sure what some people have been home brewing, but I think I''ll give those ales a miss!

I''ve refrained from posting on this board recently due to the completely pointness nature of alot of the comments and the incredibly fickle nature of many people, who seem to shut up until Worthy puts a foot wrong and then suddenly appear from the shadows later.  Is it any wonder the man snapped in an interview?  If I were Worthington and I had people writing completely pointless, nasty and clearly retarded letters to my boss, I''d snap too.

I''m not claiming Worthington is the perfect manager, he wouldn''t be with us if we were, but people are just going to have to deal with reality, which is in this situation is that we are a well run, sustainable club, and probably won''t bounce straight back up.  We have injuries and new players in important positions, we''re clearly in transition (i.e Flembo out) and this team will take time to achieve.

  6. Leave Davenport in!

    For a couple of reasons....

    1)  Northampton are League 1, not Championship (I think!)

    2)  Hopefully Davenport''s position (if he doesn''t sign) will be taken by Shackell when he''s back on form and fit.  So maybe Flembo won''t play at all!

I''m glad Worthy has finally bit the bullet, I can see some logic in trying to keep the defence together to develop, but he''s realised Flembo isn''t all that great any more (I hope, it could turn out to be a one-off) and we''re back on track!

  7. Neither am I!And from what I''ve read and seen, it would appear our "super strike force", which would "tear defences apart" isn''t quite working as it should right now. We''ve conceeded a goal a game, which isn''t great, but I think once the team settles this will slow. However, I think a new striker is a good move, if we could score more goals, the random penalty decision/mistake that causing us to leak a goal would become irrelevant! It disgusts me that some people are calling for worthy''s head 4 games in, thats bearly long enough for the new players to move in, let alone settle into the squad!ChunkyOTBC!

  8. I have a feeling it will be a fitness issue, I can''t see how he could possibly not consider Shackell to be an important and long-term part of our defence.

However, I have a feeling he might not jump straight into starting every game, maybe Worthy wants to build him up to it, fair enough he played a few games (very well I''ll add) at the end of last season, but is he ready to be a first term regular?

  9. The doc is clearly a much better defender than Flembo and has a height advantage over Charlie.

He certainly didn''t look match fit last season, but now he''s rumoured to be fit, he could be our new centre half.  I certainly think he has the potential to be a lower-half prem player.

Its amazing how a lack of fitness can affect player''s concentration and maybe this season will give Doc the chance he needs to work his way into the team.

  10. I think that we''re not even close to seeing our final squad yet.  After reading what many people have to say about the state of the transfer market at the moment and looking at other clubs.  It would appear that not many paid transfers have taken place yet, and won''t until the last two weeks of August from what I''ve read.

I think the board are aware that money has to be spent, but as has been said in previous posts, we have to be aware that any players we buy now will be with us for more than a season and hence if they aren''t premiership class will be a coach-filling drain on finances IF we get promoted again.

1 million plus what we have already isn''t masses, but I feel its enough to bring in a couple of decent lower-end premiership players to carry us through, the problem is attracting them to Norwich.  A season long loan signing would also be of benefit to the club, but as Bentley proved, it can be a bit hit and miss.

  11. I don''t think anyone is blaming Francis for Norwich''s relegation, but its becoming pretty clear that his heart isn''t in it.If he doesn''t want to play for Norwich, then he shouldn''t, simple as. As soon as we get a decent offer, he should go.Of course, nobody knows what the situation is.OTBC!Chunky

  12. I agree, to ensure we go straight back up we must spend alot of money.....

BUT! (A very big but too)

Can we afford to? I''m not saying we shouldn''t splash the cash we have (I''m not sure how much we do have, but I''d wager its not as big as we''d all like it to be), but the one thing we shouldn''t do is splash cash we haven''t got, its just a recipie for disaster, and nobody wants that.

I think we will get a few free transfers in, but just because a player came in on a free doesn''t mean he''s crap, there are many reasons for players being on free transfers!

  13. Edworthy clearly wasn''t up to much this season, and as soon as Helveg settled it''s been clear he''s a class above, if a little too far above for the rest of the team at times!

Stuart looked ok in one game, but was never very impressive.

I''ve never seen Crow play, but as impressive as everyone seems to think he is, surely the management team know a little more than we do?! Why else send him out on loan, before releasing him?

Seems like worthy et al can''t do anything right at the moment. Maybe we should get Clive Woodward in, I''ve heard his first signing is going to be Martin Johnson as our new center half, with Johnny Wilkinson as the new right winger.

  14. Nobody is denying that there is room for worthy to improve, but to say he''s treating charlie in a ridiculous manner is stupid when nobody knows the entire story.

If Charlie was upset or was being treated badly, I think we''d know about it by now.

  15. Clive Woodward?

I don''t know what you''re on but I''ll have to ask my dealer GP if he has any!

He''s not even a football manager, he''s a very good organiser and optimiser (from what I''ve heard) but he can''t coach or select football teams!

This is really getting out of hand, I agree that worthy''s selections have been a bit odd, but it has taken time for players to settle down and recover from injuries.  Even when a player is fit you can''t just chuck him straight back into the team (as a general rule).

  16. Drives me completely insane!

Worthington (and the board too) have done so much for this club and not many other clubs can claim to have moved forward as much as we have over the last few years.

We have a stable club with a weak by premiership standards squad and we''ve managed to get to this point, at the start of the season most people I spoke to though we''d struggle (Norwich fans and nobodies!).  We''ve managed to give a good account of ourselves and not risk the financial standing of our club.

Wigan are talking about throwing 25million around (whether you''ll see it or not is anyone''s guess).  It puts things in perspective!
