1. reports from our side saying he''s all yours now. signed on the dotted line and faxed off to the FA.Now send us Russel or clingan please...or both!
 2. As a less bias Preston Fan, I''ll try to tell it to you without the "we hate any player who leaves us" bias that you get a lot of the time.Whaley is a Jackal and Hyde type of player. When he has confidence, he looks quick, takes on people, can play left or right wing and has an eye for goal (and a terrific shot). When he lacks confidence he''s clumsy, has a terrible first touch, can''t get past shit, shoots like a rugby player.regardless of his confidence issues he fails at tracking back, so you must have a solid midfield to help out in that area.I''m not sad to see him go but I do think he will set your division alight. I just think his confidence issues and fear of tackling mean he''s never gonna make it in the Championship but will look amazing in Div1.If you fancy a striker, we have Hawley who will knock 20  in a season at your level :)
 3. He''s not in the squads for our Friendlies and Alan Irvine has confirmed, you are indeed after him.hopefully it''s a swap deal for 1 of your want away midfielders (we really need a decent defensive midfielder).
 4. As a Preston Fan I am delighted to get rid of him. However he win run riot in your league. He''s extremly quick and scores some blinders. Since his talent is better than that league, his achilles heal wont come into effect. He''s a confidence player. If it wasn''t for that, he would be a top class player in the Championship and possibly the prem but he just vanishes once his confidence drops. If he does sign for you, you can at least expect the first 7 or 8 games, where you''ll think he''s the new messiah! If he keeps his confidence up after that, you''ll be one lucky club. O...he can''t tackle for shit.
 5. rumour going around the PNE forums that he is on his way to you. could be rubbish as most are. http://www.pne-online.net/forum/showthread.php?t=40972&highlight=whaley Thought you might find it of interest.
 6.
I heard Neil Adams say it was a poor Preston side - so poor they only got 15 corners to our none
lolAnyway as a Preston Fan I can safely say, the game was far more one sided that the radio commentators mentioned. Preston are always written off as we are not a big club in anyone eyes.Preston had more shots, more possesion, more corners (15 to none), caught offside more, more penalty appeals You get my drift.Saying that Norwich defended everything and countered (badly but still). So although I feel hard done by, I have to take my hat off and say Norwich defended amazingly well. It''s the first game of the season, so you can''t base much on it but get yourself a creative winger (hucks) and a decent striker (cureton), then you will win the games and not conceed. For people to call preston poor tho, is based soley on our dramatic fall last season and the "thery''re a small club" philosophy. Good luck in the season anyway.
 7.

2-0 city. Preston have lost too many key players and havent replaced them. I expect them to struggle this year.
Oh and there pre season has been dire from what i can gather add on top the fact they have no strikers i would expect nothing but a win.
Hi there, Preston Fan here. Thought I''d pop on the board as were about to meet in the league.Anyway, it''s not so much our stike force that is the issue, as our two first choice strikers are fit (Mellor and Ormerod) and Hawley is available. It''s our lack of defending the lead. We''ve managed to go ahead in quite a few preseasons only for our defence to fall in the second half.I still think we will win 2-1, as Mellor looks better than Nugent in front of the goal and Jones and Nicholls (latest signings) look like good Championship players.good luck Saturday
