Yep, I''m happy too. I think Mcnally knows what he''s doing. It''s nice to have a proper manager in charge for once!
and happy here too. one thing for him, he must have balls and think he can achieve something here. I mean he is taking over less than 2 weeks after seeing us stuffed 7 -1 with fans running on the pitch trying to get at the then manager. gotta be impressed with that [Y]

The original one has over 2,600 posts to his name whereas the new one only 360. Not very clever.
You''ve got a point you know! Still didn''t think there was anything childish in the post though, the OP reported it as it appears on the Iron Bru site, and am not keen on "these outsider types" having a pop at fellow City fans [:@]

Never Mind Who - When Do We Get To Know?
Barclay_Boy replied to Barclay_Boy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
yes I know what he said Cam, I was asking for opinions from posters on this Board, like your good self ! -
My minds made up and I reckon it''s going to be Adkins, from the snippets that have been coming through, 12 month rolling contract, over achiever etc I think he fits the bill, but does anyone have a view when we are likely to find out? Negotiations apparently at an advanced stage, reckon it will be confirmed tomorrow, ahead of the Brentford game?

SCUNTHORPE FANS THINK ITS THEIR MAN

McNally - for or against?
Barclay_Boy replied to Sideshow Tim's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
For, but brush up on that public speaking! -
would have him as our new manager in a heartbeat, and he would be more likely than most to get us back to the Championship. Good to see that all the match officials have been suspended pending investigation, which should include a eyesight test at least.

Why the anti McNally stuff?

So what if his presentation wasn''t great on Radio Nohope, so what if he''s covering his arse on having a a new manager/investment in place. McNally is the best thing that has happened to NCFC in the past 10 years. I am absolutely sure that he will pick the correct manager to pull us out of this mess. ONBC
agreed! im begining to think they come on here to provoke, probarly likely they have never been to a game...but claim to be prooooooooooooooooooper fans!
be careful, have just shown my Bouvier Des Flandres your " I hate dogs" tag. Once she''d read it (clever dog) teeth were bared and she wasn''t best pleased. Hopefully you don''t resemble your avatar, or you''ve had it once she''s tracked you down...... -

ONBC
wasn''t slagging him off Tim, just saying that he sounded a bit lightweight that''s all. Listen almost anyone would be better than Doomcaster! And getting rid of a Mgr who should never have been appointed in the first place is a step forward. But I am still not sure he''s the guy he''s painted to be, time will tell. He may have just been nervous as someone showed him our debt figures..... -
MUST be the man.
wasn''t he assistant at Col U when they had their most succesful season in the Championship? Rumour had it that the team did so well because the players were terrified of facing him if they had lost or played badly. Rumoured to have well and truly put Vinny in his place on one occasion....

McNally - Larry Lightweight Shock!
Barclay_Boy replied to Barclay_Boy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City

Him being media savvy and sounding good on the radio counts not one jot. Doncaster was rent-a-soundbite and got a lot of stick for it. As for no-one being lined up, yes, am sure no one person is lined up, but there may be three or four, indeed, the minute Gunn went, I bet there were quite a few calls going into McNally from agents. Reassuring about JFH although, come on, was it even going to be the remotest possibility-of course not. Over the next few days, a lot more people will have got the job who infact haven''t even applied.
Sorry, I don''t buy that. Somebody of his experience and seniority should have the ability to talk to the press. This is a man who is earning serious money as a CEO for a football club and I simply don''t accept that this man should sound like he had never been near a microphone before. I used to give our club the benefit of the doubt but I''m afraid that after the last 5 years I just think they are incompetent and completely out of their depth with this kind of a business. Gunn was a panic appointment initially, a scandalous error of judgement in the summer and a monumental cock up at the end, sacking a man after he delivered a 4-0 away win and a day before a game. "there is never a good time to sack a manager" he said, Total crap. The ideal time was in May after the Charlton match. The next ideal time was at 5pm last Saturday. Friday pm is clearly not an ideal time. So we end up hanging on for a draw in a game we could easily have won. I conclude quite simply that they just don''t know what they are doing. Like most supporters I don''t care who they appoint as long as the man is a manager, rather than a likeable chap who is cheap.
thanks sgncfc, agree with your comments as well. Maybe I''m paranoid, but with all that''s going on at the moment I want some reassurance, to feel that at least someone is confident regarding how to take "this great club forward" as he stated. And that interview did not give me any confidence at all. Sounded like someone who wasn''t sure what the hell is going on, and wasn''t comfortable being questioned about it. Hope to God he is the man he''s made out to be, cos we''re kind of counting on at least someone standing up to the "angel investors" -
I know that we don''t yet know the identity of the new manager, but I thought I''d save a bit of time. So whoever he is let me be the first to say that he (or of course she) hasn''t got enough experience/ doesn''t play Norwich style football/ has failed elsewhere/is a cheap option. Come on, let''s get the bastard OUT!!!!!
I think, even for NCFC, that may be a case of premature ejaculation..[:$]
Haven''t people complained about spin coming from the club all the time? Who gives a shiit what he sounds like, it what he does in the boardroom that counts, don''t you think? If we wanted someone who could speak properly, we would have got Trevor Mcdonald.
ok, but the vibe being put out about him was he was this tough guy who was going to come in and not take any crap from anyone. And he doesn''t sound the type. He was quick to distance himself as being the architect of Gunn''s sacking, falling over himself to say that it was a unanimous decision, he was not the owner of the club etc, etc. I do a fair bit of training new Managers to give presentations etc, and he sounded just like someone giving their first presentation, ie very nervous. If there is a replacement for Gunn in the bag, and he was just putting up a smokescreen fair enough, otherwise it''s just weird, unless plan b was to see if Butterworth could set the world alight in the next couple of games and then use that as an excuse to give him the job. Very impressed that he knew over 4% of the season had already gone though.... -
Just been listening to our CEO on R Nofolk and not very impressive at all! Very nervous, shaky tone to his voice, and the only good things he said was confirming Jimmy Floyd hasn''t got the job and results haven''t been good enough since Gunn took over. As for public speaking, it''s back to media training school for you David! Kept repeating the phrase about taking this great club forward but guess what, there is no replacement for Gunn lined up!?*
The ''old board'' appointed Gunn, the ''new board'' spear headed by our new improved Chief Exec, Mr McNally fired Gunn... This shows he has no confidence in Gunn & lets be honest, he should never have been appointed after relegation. I have confidence in McNally & I seriously hope he''ll appoint a manager capable of achieving promotion this season.
agreed, although have ammended last line slightly! This really is the last chance salonn, the new manager is going to make or break this season

What''s that assumption based on?
the assumption is base on my opinion, exactly the same as yours is. And by fair price I mean exactly £1. That and a promise by the new investor to clear the clubs debt, and at least provide a transfer kitty without having to go cap in hand to the fans. And therin lies the problem, she won''t walk away and leave her cash behind, can''t afford to put any more in, and can''t attract anymore because who would want to invest with the track record of NCFC under her ownership? Which basically puts us where we are, in slow decline, which only a miracle or administration can get us out of.
Could Gunn getting us promoted be such a miracle?
possibly so DS, but even then where does that leave us? A struggling club, unable to compete in the transfer market, at the wrong end of the Championship cos despite sell out crowds we never seem to have any money. And as much as we might hate it, today it all comes down to money. Without it you may get lucky and over achieve in the short term, in the long term you''re pretty much FCUK''ed. -
I wondered who people have got lined up to replace her, and how free flowing their money is? Is the plan to force Delia out and watch the club disappear, or is there a plan B? There doesn''t seem to be a line of people breaking the door down to invest.
I am sure that if Delia named a fair price then there would be a number of potential buyers for the club. If you are expecting a line of potential investors however, given the present owners track record, would you trust them with any significant amount of money? -
Mr carra you have made some decent points but 5 years is a long time to blame bad luck. Football decisions is what the club should be about, the major part of our burden is not football related and is slowly strangling the club and therefore the football side. I agree that abuse to the level of some on this board of the devious duo is totally uncalled for. I do not believe that they have feathered any nest,or deliberately run our club backwards dropping us to our lowest level for 50 years. Those that think so are usually those that also accuse them of making money from the club. The two statements do not go hand in hand. Their obstinacy in not "selling the club" their inability to run the club and the disasterous decisions made by them are what most thinking fans find unacceptable. Delia might find engaging brain before opening mouth might help (I get the impression from the last few utterances that even MWJ is getting angry about having to CORRECT her) The ready acceptance of "little old Norwich" "Delia Smiths Norwich" etc as a life long fan I personaly find annoying and demeaning. No side has a God given right to success, all we require is the means to have a decent shot at it. Those means (via players) have been denied us over several seasons whilst the quality of the team and management has rapidly deteriorated. That decline can be seen by the quality of our present squad, most of whom would never have been considered a few seasons ago. The above are some of the things I hold them accountable for.
another fantastic post Butler, sums up exactly how I feel and most of the people I go with or chat with about NCFC. There are at least as many hostile and threatening posts directed towards the anti Delia brigade on here as there are insults directed the other way, you only have to look at this thread for evidence. It''s the continued worship of Delia and MWJ in the face of the points that you have made that is so upsetting to a lot of people.
