  1. If there is anything I am sick and tired of reading on this site is how much everyone hates the board. My God how short memories are. This is the same board that took us to the play off final, took us out of the division and into the Premier League. Money invested in the club over many years. My belief is that you never invest in a football club to make loads of money. You effectively donate and hope that there is some way a return can be made. Who on earth do "sack the board" people think is going to come into football these days? All those ranting on about Cullum - well where would that have got us today when the insurance industry is in a right old mess. How much more money is there to give? It really does make me laugh when people here talk a good story with other people''s money! Yes of course we want better times - I am equally sure that all board members want better times too. Sadly there is no individual waiting to pour mony into little old Norwich. Every club has its ups and downs and we are just going through one of the downs. Hard work and effort by the players could get us out. Sacking the board will not. I really do not know what options we have but I certainly do not think the board has fleeced the club, quite the contrary. So for all those who would want something different, exactly what and who? There is just no point in saying "we want change" "we want someebody new".............who on earth is going to fly in here tomorrow and do a better job?? So basically stop moaning and groaning, making stupid statements about getting rid of the board when you have absolutely nothing at all to put in its place. If you do have concrete suggestions re people, money..............as Deliah has said, she will listen..............no Cullums though!!
  2. What makes me laugh here is all those who scoff at the amount of money we are talking about. So, so easy to sit and pontificate about other people and their money. Most people here have not the slightest clue about money of this size yet they bandy about what they would or what others should do. What is for sure is that Delia and Michael saved this club with their own hard earned money. Nobody forced them to do it and yet their each and every move is lambasted by those who would not know what to do with £1k never mind the sums we are talking about. We are not held to ransom like some clubs - and no it is very unlikely that we would ever have serious money thrown at us. However, what we have are people who care and care a great deal. Maybe those who throw sh*t about should just stop and take stock before they shout out about millions they know absolutely nothing about!
  3. I have to say that I am becoming more and more disillusioned with the game too. What was worse for me was watching the Olympics and how our men and women tried their guts out. Ok they are more professional today but they are by no means the prima donnas that abound in the premier league. God knows where our game is going...........and the justification of £100k per week is what?? At least we have a team that tries its heart out most of the time. We can relate to them most of the time. They do not live in a different world in the main. And yes, getting thumped every week in the PL was not good....................mind you, getting thunped every weel last season was crap too!!!! Think I will take up archery........................
  4. My, my...............has it all gone quiet over there. Little sign of the dissenting voices in the last week.........surely a couple of wins cannot halt the slings and arrows aimed at the board?? Surely the straightforward, sensible, no nonsense talking of Mr Roeder in addition to his obvious positive influence on the team cannot be enough to shut some people up................?? Hats off to Roeder so far...........................and 5-1 to the sheep this week. Baaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh Don''t you just love sheep..................especially the good looking ones!!
  5. Screaming at the board, questioning the loyalty of individual players, all the moaning and groaning in the world, all of this changes absolutely nothing in the current world. Players effectively rule the roost and clubs more or less dance to their tune. The clubs are little more than bit players no matter where they are placed - look at Man U and Tevez, Chelsea with Terry and Lampard. These are nothing more than higher value situations than we are faced with at NCFC. Further down the leagues, exactly the same problems exist but we care little about them if we want a player. Totally gone are the days where the relationship between club and player was one of mutual respect - West Ham and Bonds, Man U and Charlton and prime examples of players who gave their all for the club and received support in similar measure back from the club. Players today are roving mercenaries, plying their trade where the bidders are biggest and with relatively little concern which shirt they wear. Sitting in complete juxtaposition is the fans'' view - a love for the club, wanting the best at all times and wishing that all good players stay put. We don''t give up our seats at the slightest whiff of more money to go down the road to Suffolk or the Midlands. We suffer from loyalty and expect it from all quarters in return. But we are not a business and we do not earn from the game. We give relentlessly in anticipation of joy and mutual respect. No wonder we receive very little of these when they totally conflict with how players see their lives. Sadly, who can blame them. They earn where they can and at the best level they can. We do not have the options they have but our problem is that we do not want these options either. We want to stay, be loyal, support our team and believe. The players we value so highly rarely share such feelings. And so, whether it be Etuhu, Saffri, Earnshaw, Ashton - it will happen time and time again until there is a reversal of power in the game. We need a balance between clubs and players and work in an era where the word loyalty means something to clubs, players and fans alike.
  6. I suspect that you just come on here to annoy people, Smudger................your facts are ususally suspect. How on earth we continue to tolerate you on here is beyond me. I can think of no recent comments of yours that are the slightest bit constructive. You are all too ready to criticise people who have given time and money to the club for the benefit of us all. You expect absolutely everything and give nothing but bad mouthing in return.
