1. Highs -

Thoroughly deserved, the likes of Steve Claridge etc proven wrong.....again, one of the brightest young managers of this era taking us forward, finally a stable and sensible board set up, best home support in the championship and for the top flight and one of the top ten away supports, loyal support, team spirit. No-one can knock our late goals, you play to the whistle, we finally have a real good chance of staying in that league with the current unity and stability changes like Lambert, McNally and yes I bloody will say it DELIA have made bless them. Lets look at the likes of Stoke, West Brom, Fulham, who have proven you can go up and compete. For all those Norwich fans who said they didnt want us to go up as we will come back down shove up your John wark because im not having that.

    Lows -

Well the old Arthur made a return about 12.15am last night, and with deepest regret assaulted Dorris inm a drunken rage, im deeply sorry and ashamed. Ive never done that before to a women, and its unacceptable. Still if she insist on watching estenders on catch up when i want to watch the football league show again.

    OTBC.,

  2.
I totally agree... I sit in N&P upper and there is a nice bunch around me (apart from the group to my right where about 100 people dont even bother to stand up when we score LOL...) Anyway I was shocked last night at the beam back 1 person who sat in Norfolk Lounge at front by a pillar was constantly shouting abuse... He sounded such an idiot and I and most others couldnt quite beleive it... So if you were the lad sitting in front of the pillar in a green jumper id watch your foul mouth if I were you... its not helpful nor nice!!
Come on mate, i see your point but this is Football!

I will always show my support for any player who wears the shirt. I will keep my opinions to myself when they are playing on the pitch but i will always try to make constructive criticism in the Pub/House after games if i feel players deserve it.

  3.
Thanks for the reply, PC. Difficult to disagree with those four mistakes of yours. Of the managers, Grant seemed a decent appointment at the time. Gunn was an obvious mistake and I still think his re-appointment was unforgivable, though I take Nutty''s point about the new chief exec. Roeder is interesting because he did do exactly what he was appointed to do - keep the club up in the season he was appointed. His CV suggested that he was good at that job - but it also suggested he couldn''t maintain early success in a second season. There were plenty of people saying that at the time (not me, I confess), so perhaps it is fair to criticise S&J for that appointment. As for Worthy, I would have sacked him the year that we finished eighth, a season after the play-off final. Seemed then that he had taken us as far as he could. Shows how much I know. In terms of the summer of 06, I think Nutty''s probably right that they fell between two stools, neither sacking him nor backing him. The two-game ultimatum was certainly ridiculous.
There is a very serious Decline in those appointments and had that have happened under Chase....Well.....
Surely the biggest game changer was Smith and Jones saving us from bankruptcy. Without them we would be consigned to oblivion for years.
Rubbish.

I''m not even going to list the amount of Clubs you could claim to come under such times.

I''ve mellowed in my views of Smith and Co but i will not forget where we were heading under Doomcaster and Co before, and nearly to late, they did drag us out of oblivion under the current set-up, and no thanks to happy clappers who continued to hear no wrong about the cook and co. Things change, such is life, but the set up a couple of seasons back could of killed this club far more so than Fat Bob IMHO.
The fact that Bob kept it close (carter and Co) And Cook and Co have done the same (not going to get in to the "i''ll scratch your back....Old bean") and both seem to keep things "local" is by the by. If we had kept doing things the same before the current set up...and those in charge do not want to let go....we would of been in sh it street. I Never trusted Chase and i''''m damned if i''ll trust the other lot. All in it for their own gains, be it cash or a train set IMO.

  6. Im going to have to do a Neil Adams here and sit on the fence. 3m is a lot of money for someone, is he worth 3m in todays market is the question I guess?

Who else would we get for 3m? Sylvan Ebanks-Blake maybe? Not sure. Its always a gamble. 50m Torres hasnt scored yet but no doubt will do well next year.

Without question we need someone who will make an immediate impact or its pointless. You never know 100% if a player will fit. Billy Sharpe, superb everywhere, except big money move to Sheff Utd. Some players just dont fit in everywhere.

Not say CMS will fail, not saying he will be our best ever signing. Remember Dave "our saviour" Stiker? Darren Beckford? The list is endless.

Like I said 3m is alot, and if we dont go up..............

Personally a player I said on this forum we should have put a bid in for 2/3 years ago, when i believe he was being loaned out to Plymouth and other clubs so clearly had no future at his club {honest check the achives}.............Scott Sinclair...........I was laughed at at the time, and told no chance........................

  7.

I was looking at what was available on loan from the Premiership last night and decided that Blake defo wasn''t worth taking a gamble on.
Let''s have a little look here........

You told us how good Jackson and MacNamee were.....

    You said Hoolahan was crap.....

    So was Lappin.....

    Russell Martin was a "dud"....

Bemoaned the fact that we let Darrell Russell and Spillane go.....

So, why not chat to whoever is in the girlie seat for leicester to see if you can learn something about football, before you pass any more opinions on players and make yourself look silly again? [:$]

Smudger has picked out some quality players in the past with Ricky Lambert springing to mind.
Not a bad shout that. The only unproven young striker that I would like here, off the top of my head.
Along with Kevin Phillips the best suggestion so far. What do people think of Harewood? Its hard to judge him based on the fact he has not really played for the last few seasons.
If we had the money.........Rickie Lambert.

Any young Arsenal hopefulls? We seem to have good links with them.

  9.
WE were having this discussion at work the other day, one of my colleagues plays for England u-19s for women, I said what standard they could beat. SHE thought they could beat an amateur sat or sun men''s club quite easily. IT''S down to fitness and skill for me. Women''s football is a developing sport and I actively encourage participation in football regardless of age, gender, race, religion, disability etc IT can only be a good thing when everyone can play, it means more money to the fa to use on football development in this country.
Never going to happen with regards to gender.

You can give them steroids or train women all day long but its just not going to happen.

  10.
Strange statement to make...I don''t think anyone''s arguing that women should be allowed to play in the men''s league. The issue is with the prehistoric assumption of some now-jobless pundits that women are unable to follow the rules of the game simply because of their gender.
But they can''t, they''re busy in Topshop. You can''t multi-task that fcuker at 3pm on a Saturday!!

  11.
couple of points; 1. Lambert will not leave Norwich this season. 2. "Lambert is not Loyal" Where does all this nonsence come from? He left colchester to join a club far far bigger. It was an oopotunity he could not turn down. It was a huge rise for him, he wouldnt have been loyal to stay, he would have been dam right insane! I feel the gap between us and colchester is similar size between us and an established prem side like West ham & Villa. So unless a club of this size comes knocking i cannot see him leaving. And if a club like Villa came knocking nobody could claim he is un loyal as again it would be an oppotunity any sane manager wishing to improve could not refuse.
I kind of agree but i still believe PL is the kind of bloke that will only move on to the next level if he personally feels he can make the grade. I''m not convinced he believes that after a year and a some at Norwich. Can''t see him going anywhere yet unless he believes he can cut it as a top Prem manager. Paul Ince and many more have proved that the step up is massive. The step up from Wycombe to Col Who is small, the step up from Col Who to Norwich is big, i think he believed,at the time, it was one he could make. To soon for him to go anywhere before this season is over.
Very true mister chops. I recently read somewhere that Burnley has the highest rate of attendances in comparison to the size of the town than any other pro Club. They were getting 20 odd thousand in a town with a population of 80 thousand!
Yes and of coarse Lambert hasn''t signed anyone yet has he Barnett Wilbraham, if he was about to jump ship as some suggest would he be packing his cases now or wasting time signing players, and as well as that he has more chance of going up with us in May or will he prefer a relligation battle with Burnley. Money talks so you say, but what Bonus is he on if we get promoted ? I rest my case he''s going nowhere
Sorry Pete i wasn''t suggesting he''s about to jump ship although i can see it looked like that, i was merely pointing out that Burnley are a pretty successful club with great support, even more so considering the surrounding clubs. I dont for one minute think PL is going anywhere soon.
But it is great support. The had a quarter of the town turning up for games and still get nearly as many now. They are surrounded by massive clubs as well. Granted, their recent history is''nt great but for a small mill town they have a very loyal fan base. Norwich fans are the best IMO but we do sometimes over look the fact that catchment area is closer to the million mark as opposed to the 200k population of Norwich.

Hardly "great support" though is it. They get about 15,000. They are a decent little club who should be up there challenging for the playoffs but other than in terms of distant history are a smaller club than us with less potential. Only possible reasons for him to move there would be stupid money offered to him plus a bit nearer to home. Stranger things have happened but it would be a very strange move and one I really cant see happening.
Nana, sometimes i''d love nothing more than to put a wooden Dutch clog on my kicking foot, take a 100m run up and kick you so hard up the jacksie.

I very much doubt your obsession with Dutch players would hold much longer.

I think our realistic budget is around the 1 million mark, and as seen in todays signing, players like Ricky Lambert are way off our radar.

  15. If this signing is one of the 3 or so quoted and is seen as a player to push us forward than i must admit i''m disappointed with the calibre of the players we''re aiming for. I''m sure PL has been shrewed here and see him as nothing more than a useful back up and those "brave signings" are still being sussed out.

  16.
Ok so Lewie and Barnett are young/immature, but who cares, we all were once! To the Men or Women having a laugh at their expence, do you not think your acting immature taking the mick out of two kids? Just let them get on with their squabble and ignore them. Are things really that bad in your life you need to get self satisfaction by having a little pop at them? lol
I''m only ribbing them, I think its rather funny and i was just playing along bless em.
