1. Good coaches dont always make good managers. Get him in as coach maybe but no way manager. Hes taken a Bolton top 6 team full of spirit to the bottom of the prem with no confidence. Dont like the way him and gartside slagged off big sam when he left either, hardly won over the fans with those comments did he?
 2.
Strange that those so paranoid about City not finding another buyer should Smith walk......are here stating that there are plenty of people after the managers job.  Shouldn''t that say something about the potential of NCFC if it were genuinely offered for sale? Two plus two making three me thinks........
Funny that hey cluck??
 3.
When we were looking last year, many of us, me included wanted a young up and coming manager, after Worthy many on here wanted a passionate direct manager, like Adie Boothroyd and many others.  Much of the views on this board were along these lines. Worthy wasnt vocal, and so we wanted something different.  Now we want something different after this did not work at all - we want a calm older statesman type character, someone who is knowledgable and organised. None of this I have a problem with, I feel the same, however what annoys me, is that people are blaming the board for it, most of us thought the same!! The board have made countless errors, however though we may not have been excited by Grant - most wanted Bowen, we did want a young manager!  We cant blame the board for everything.
I think alot of people thought PG was a cheap option along with Worthy when we got him from blackpool. Many people like Bowen for the work hes done with Hughes but again i think he would of been a cheap option. We really must show ambition in this signing as a inexperienced manager clearly cannot motivate these players. I like Jewell but i thinks hes waiting for a prem job. Ince is good but hes on to something good at MK and i doubt hewould leave them at the moment so its likely to be a Duffy in house signing or a Royale type old head.
 4.
According to Waghorn....    "Step back and step outside this little world and see the Norwich City vacancy through global eyes and all of a sudden it becomes, arguably, one of the top 24 jobs in world football right now." http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter.com/full_article.asp?i=1784   Then again according to Waghorn Darrell Russell would be playing Premiership football by now if he was a couple of inches taller.....
Not sure what planet this fella is on or what hes on but i wouldnt mind some!! It seems that now PG has gone everybody is feeling optimistic again just like the start when under PG and HIS new team we would go on to top the league. Ive no doubt that managing Norwich is a good job but its not going to attract big names. The likes of Royale being the biggest imo. The board must do everything possible to secure a top manager but its not going to happen. Living in Norwich is by far the greastest thing anyone could wish for, managaging a team whos board lack ambition and expect you to work miracles is not in the top 24 jobs of football imo.
 5.
Ince for me is the one manager who stands way above the rest and he has many similarities with a certain Martin O Niell. He is doing a geat job in the lower leagues with limited resources. He is highly respected by the players through his long and excellent playing record. He has obviously also got that vital midas touch of getting the best out of his players which Grant so obviously lacked. The managers position is so pivotal in making an ordinary team great. So come on Delia contact his agent and make a deal he cant refuse. I am certain he would want the job as it would get him a step closer to where he wants to be, as we do, in the Premier League.
The way things are going, to take over city would be a backward step for Ince. I  like the fella and he seems to of settled into management well. MK Dons are potentially a sleeping Giant. MK is a growing city with a potentially very large fan base in an area that will become very attractive for players in a few years once they establish a succesful team and everything is in place for it to happen. The whole set up is new from stadia to manager and it must be exciting times for them. [i must admit im not a big fan of the whole set up though with regards to how they came about]. Now lets look at City for one minute. All the potential, fan base, stadium ect ect just not the same drive and ambition. Funny how a little ambition can change a clubs fortunes in such a small space of time. Ince''s interview was very straight and from what he says it seems he almost laughed at the thought of coming here. How the mighty fall hey??
 6.
I spoke at length to Neil Doncaster before a ball had even been kicked this season. I told him straight that this was the weakest city team i have ever seen put together during the summer. I also called him and the board incompetent, from the 18mil debt to the hotel stuck in the corner and not least the poor weak team that had been assembled. In less then 10 games, himself and the team have done nothing to alter that opinion. How long will we wait for a new manager! crystal palace appointed a new manager within days. However our incompetent CEO and board will probably let this roll on for a good few weeks or so. Not only do they reach erroneous conclusions and make unfortunate choices, but their incompetence robs them of the ability to realize it. The man at the top should resign with the debt building and  income dropping something has to give and  it should be the CEO, we need a new man with fresh ideas. DONCASTER should resign.
Spot on i did the same but didnt get a reply. As long as people clap along with Delia and shake MWJ hand and tell them how wonderful they are and so cute and cuddly and clap like a family Singing cringe worthy songs like ''delias barmy army'' they all keep a job.
 7. Your all scrapeing the barrel on this one and it is truely childish.I had paid for my ticket and was prepared to sell it back after the rubbish regarding the transfers, Someone i know wanted it so he has it when he comes here, Anybody is welcome to it but im not going under this board apart from the ippo game. HARDLY BLOODY PICKING MY GAMES IS IT?? One bloody game is hardly going to change things. Like i said if they are still here next season i will not renew. If i had sold my season ticket i would of still gone [if possible] to the derby....Get bloody real. Mind you i dont suppose any of you lot would understand realism after praiseing PG and the saviour crew all season!
 8.

I fear the Turners will not be injecting much cash...  To quote Mick Dennis on Rick Waghorn''s site: "We already have some rich backers, of course. Andrew and Sharon Turner are playing an increasing role at Norwich. While Delia Smith has been filming for her new TV series (much of which is set in the kitchens at Carrow Road), the Turners have been making day-to-day executive decisions. I''ve met them and they are certainly proper City fans who have put in the years. But they did not strike me as the sort of people who are anxious to give away a significant wedge of the fortune they have worked hard to build up. In fact, the only folk I have ever met who were ready and willing to seriously deplete their own wealth for "our" club are Delia and her husband, Michael Wynn-Jones. They stepped in when the club was hours away from liquidation, paid the monthly wages bill more than once during the early days of their reign, and have given more time and money than they could really afford to our club." It is a good article and is here: http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter.com/full_article.asp?i=1759&w=12&a=0&part=1
Delia is a publishing phenomenon with sales of more than 18 million books at extremely high royalty rates. Royalties are typically broken out on a scale according to the number of copies sold, such as 10% on the first 5000 copies, 12.5% on the next 5000 copies and 15% over 10,000 copies etc; so by my reckoning she''s on close to 50% for each book sold throughout the best part of her career - add to the latter the TV revenue and one is talking much, much more than the reported 23 million quid fortune that she''s supposedly accumulated in her time - please don''t believe the tripe you read in various media articles. So Mick Dennis can keep his "given more time and money than they could really afford to our club" statement and stick it where it belongs. And let''s not forget the fact that Smith & Jones will walk away with every penny they put in when they do eventually step down, plus they''ll still have the catering franchise. Ultimately - they are business people - as are the Turners, so any cash injection they might make will be minimal.
Very good post Shyster... [Y] May I ask where your figures came from? You see in my rhetoric I consider that Delia & Michael are personally as rich as the Turners (if not richer). I have no evidence for this... just that I have dealt with authors/publishers at work, so believe that the Royalties that our loveable pair have clocked up over the years is likely to outweigh any personal fortune that the Turners may be able to lay their hands on as nearly all of their money is tied up in the day to day running of their business.
Smudge-you have got me scrating my head now in confusion, just exactly what is it that you want?
 9.

I have to say arthur that by buying a season ticket you''re supporting the board and turning up for any match is supporting the board according to the gospel of smudger, cluck etc. So, welcome to the wooly flock, percy whittle !!   [;)]
I gave my ticket up after the transfer debacle and made a personal decision not to show my face at CR. My friend still goes with my son but my support is to muted under this lot so  i sell it to someone who apprieciates it more. I cant see haw this is following the board. I write mail to the press and to the board explaining my disgust and if next year they are still at the top i will not renew. if however they step down i will.
Chuckle, chuckle Arthur... have to say it... they do seem to have you hook line and sinker on this one...  sorry mate!!!  [:D]
Explain smudger-your starting to baffle even me now.
 10.
So now all is clear Arthur does still have his season ticket, he just sells his seat to friends for games that he''s not going to attend. So he is supporting the club and has joined us sheep. [:D]
Pathetic! Ive always supported the club, but because i refuse to go under the current regime-with the exception of the derby game-the child like comments come out. Grow up!
 11.
Your Mr Strihavka scored both goals in your 2-2 draw yesterday with Colchester United reserves - the first an excellent through ball from Chadwick and the second a very good solo strike from just inside the box. Your Reserves are top of the league and unbeaten.
You never know maybe PG might leave us a legacy just like Worthy with Deon!
 12. Not sure if this has been mentioned but lastnight im sure the Cambridge manager said on Setanta sports that 2 Championship clubs had enquired about him. Im sure it wouldnt of been us with all the goings on at CR lastnight but stranger things have happened in football. Didnt he save them from the drp last season and seems to of turned it around for Cambridge. Not for one minute would i suggest him though as it would just be a case of out of the pan...
 13.
Can''t help but enjoy seeing the wind up merchant wound up
Why have all the Smudge and Cluck haters turned up today? You would of thought that sacking grant is the answer to all our problems but believe me its the iceing on the cake. The real reasons for our troubles are stillhere and to think its all going to be hunky dory is just plain stupid imo. They have proved you wrong once so i think its a bit silly to start getting so smug just yet. Until the real problems step forward and take the blame nothing is going to change.

 15.

Dont be so bloody ridiculous, is this the best you can do? Bloody hypocrite am i? Come on shack like i said its not a case of picking my games its the bloody Derby for gods sake! Ive still paid for my season tcket its just that i now sell it to a friend. Scrapeing the barrel a bit here.
I''m deadly serious Arthur. If you''re going to carry out a successful boycott, you can''t pick and choose your games. I know it will be hard to miss the derby, but surely we''ve got to make tough decisions if we''re going to save our club. There''s no way the board believe that fans would be prepared to miss the Ipswich game, how stong a message would it send if a couple of thousand did? I won''t be going Arthur, so does that now mean that you''re supporting the board and I''m not? Bloody Percy Positives!
Ok fair enough and well done on your stance. As you put it such way maybe you are right in picking my games and it must be a wrench to miss it but to me its a matter of Norfolk pride as anything else. Just cant miss it and the Chefs not going to break my tradition on this one. Man utd, Chelsea bloody Real Madrid can all shove it under the current board but not our little friends in the London overspill. So yes i''ll go but Hypocrite is a bit harsh.
 16. Ive only managed to catch some news and a few threads today so excuse my ignorance but how much was PG paid when he left? Ive heard a couple of people say it was in the region of 600k but some say he left for nothing!! Find that hard to believe, im sure he still has bills to pay.
 17.

Why on earth would Aidy Boothroyd swap a Watford team at the top of the Championship with two years of parachute payments to spend for a Norwich team at the bottom who are skint?
So you think Watford has more potential than Norwich? Bolton finished higher than Newcastle last year but that didnt stop big sam leaving for a dire Newcastle team, why? Because of the potential. Im sure you just try to argue with me for the sake of it shack, if thats the case you have a lot of growing up to do my man.
Don''t flatter yourself love! I don''t know Aidy Boothroyd but my guess is that his ultimate aim is to manage in The Premiership on a permanent basis. Now if he gets Watford promoted this year and maybe keeps them up next season his chances of a larger Premiership employing him will increase greatly. If he comes here, and under the current board he''ll have no money to spend, he could well end up with a relegation on his CV if he doesn''t watch out. Why would he risk screwing up his career just because we have "potential". IMO Big Sam left Bolton for Newcastle because he knew he''d have more money to spend rather than the fact that they get bigger crowds. Also, I would suggest that the difference in potential between Bolton and Newcastle is a lot larger than it is between Norwich and Watford. What I really don''t understand is how you can constantly tell us what a mess our club is in and then turn around and expect us to poach one of the brightest young managers in the country. Surely the two don''t match.
Off the pitch we are twice the club that Watford is.  Bigger and better in every way.  The only difference is that they have a great manager and have had a purple patch of quality youngsters that has generated considerable amounts of cash. Also if the Turners do take on more control I reckon they will allocate money for the new manager to spend. Yes the club is in a mess today.  But with the possibility of board room upheaval and a new manager there is no reason why we cant sort ourselves out.  After all there are many clubs considerably worse off than us and not too many in a better state (players and form aside).
Shack wont respond mate, he only argues with me for some reason, maybe its love?
 18.

Once Delia and go have gone i will be back and i know plenty others who feel the same, i support the team but while that board still pull the strings i reserve judgment, but i wont miss the Ippy game. "Oooh I''m not setting foot in Carrow Road again until Delia leaves.......unless we''re playing Ipswich.....or we draw Man Utd in the FA Cup". If you''re going to make a stand then do it properly. 19.

the board already have our money.. a boycott matters little jas :)
What other options then? Something I agree with you 110% on JAS. Are you up for placing pressure on the board in other ways? If so what do you suggest???
22.
I say we go balls out for Aidy Boothroyd, that really would be a signal of intent.  Plus he knows the place, knows the fans and more importantly will remember the youngsters who are now coming through. I say go for it regardless of cost.  He will be tempted because everything about is geared up for the Premier League.  In fairness to Watford they will never be a big club, we on the other hand could be (potentially).
Aidy Boothroyd is quite a good call actually and i think he would come.
