Leading Scottish bookmakers, McBookie, announced that the former striker was odds on for the job this afternoon as rival firm Paddy Power temporarily suspended betting on who would be next to manage the club after a flurry of big-money bets over the past 48 hours. The Irish firm reopened the betting this evening with Larsson a 15/8 on favourite, with second favourites Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert and former Wigan manager Owen Coyle at 11/2 and both ex-Man United gaffer Davie Moyes and current Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara at 15/2. McBookie list Larsson as their 1-3 favourite with Coyle and Lambert listed at 6/1. The bets have flooded in as rumours continue to grow around Celtic boss Lennon''s future. The Irishman is widely believed to have made Norwich''s short-list of three for the vacant manager''s job, with former boss Malky Mackay and Gianfranco Zola, also in the frame as City plot a return to England''s top flight. Lennon has also been tipped to succeed relegated West Bromwich Albion manager Pepe Mel at the Hawthorns, although sources close to the manager suggest that this move is a non-starter, despite the Celtic manager making clear that he would like to manage in England sometime in the future.

As thhe Chelsea game, this is an important match for the manager. It will do him no favours if he plays the youth players and we get tonked. Would like to see Murphy on one wing and Redmond on the other though. This could be the way forward next season. With a decent forward of course.

This sort of thing annoys me. I heard someone on Canary Call saying it was the best squad we''d ever had earllier in this season. At the time I tweeted about how ridiculous that statement was. Maybe lots of Norwich fans are experts on Dutch and Portugeuse leagues but had anyone actually seen Fer and Van Wolfswinkel play. Elmander had one half-decent season at Bolton but that was it and Redmond is a young winger. Always likely to be inconsistent. Better than Lambert''s team. Well, even Morison, who got a lot of stick, managed 10 goals in his first season. Did Holt get 15? Compare that to this year. Elmander and RVW both with 1, Hooper: 6. Of course, the manager has to take responsibility for the way that they set up and considering he wanted us to play one up front, there is an argument to be had that he signed the wrong strikers for the system but it is not a strong squad.

We''ll see how he performs in the Premier League if he gets there. The problem Martin has at this level is that he doesn''t really have a trick. At least, he didn''t when he was at Norwich. Sure he could finish when put clear but he''s not quick, he didn''t hold the ball up and he didn''t really beat a man. As with Holt, the decision to let him hgo wasn''t wrong but his replacements haven''t been up to it.

With Morison, it seems some Norwich fans always need one player to moan at. It''s always been the way since I''ve been watching. To be fair, at the game itself Morison was greeted with chants of his name as soon as he came on and his goal was fantastic - if only Simeon Jackson had hit his shot with such confidence. From my position it didn''t look as though he should have passed it to Holt, he just should have scored.It''s strange that because from what I saw of Morison at Fulham, he seemed to be a player lacking in confidence. It didn''t help that he was so isolated up front on his own without decent support from wingers but when he did get the ball, he miscontrolled it or gave it away. I thought he was great at the start of the season - maybe this goal is what he needs to get his confidence up again and the fans on his side.

I don''t think there''s a problem with Grant Holt. Bolton do okay with Kevin Davies and they''re similar players. He leads the line well and wins us free kicks. BUT you can''t have two players up front with little pace in this league. Hopefully Vaughan has a bit more pace than Martin and, if not, Jackson could be given a go. Or we could play Bennett and Pilkington alongside Holt. Thought we missed Pilkington yesterday - just because we only had one player with any pace in the team.

That''s exactly the point Dixon was making but I don''t think it was relevant. We are going to struggle this year but I don''t think it will be because of the style of play. It will be because our squad isn''t strong enough to be, say, a mid-table side. Suddenly lumping the ball won''t help us put away free headers or stop us making the odd error at the back.We have passed the ball well and created enough chances to get something out of the last two games. The worry is that our strikers aren''t good enough. I just hope that James Vaughan will be the missing link. It seems you need to spend around 7 million on a striker if you want to get a quality one - I don''t know if we have that sort of money.

I hate this idea that you can''t play decent football if you are new to the Premier League. Lee Dixon alluded to it last night, saying that he enjoyed watching Blackpool. We''re not winning games because we''re not taking our chances when they arrive and we are making the odd mistake at the back. It''s got nothing to do with the style of play.

The problem with Boothroyd isn''t that his team like to get the ball forward quickly (the polite way of saying hoofball) but that he doesn''t seem to know how to react when things go badly. He seems like one of those motivational managers like Iain Dowie who have probably read lots of American sports books and go into the dressing room spouting all their positivity nonsense. When the team starts winning this all sounds good but when they start losing, do the players stop listening?

He has to take a share of the blame though. Johnson is not a midfielder and therefore shouldn''t be asked to play behind the front two. He should have brough Mcnamee on for Elliott and reverted to 4-4-2. Instead he employed Steve McClaren Middlesbrough tactics and put five up front. We didn''t need to panic and put Doc up front so early. Of course he''s been an excellent for us but I just think he got it wrong last night. The leaky defence didn''t help his cause, mind. Late goals aren''t necesasrily lucky though - we are fitter than most teams and have scored more goals too. We just keep going until the end.

We didn''t have a shot on target in that 0-0. I think we played Roberts on his own up front despite the fact we were playing a team who were bottom of the table. Was Bellamy still at the club then? For some reason I remember he was on the bench acting as if he was the manager and shouting at our players. I also remember a three year old being carried out by his Mum because he was crying. Don''t blame him!

Gunn really shouldn''t have taken the Norwich job in the first place. He obviously likes it in Norwich which is why he''s taken a job in Norfolk rather than try and get something at another football club. Ken Brown warned him off the job at the time and I''m not surprised. Even if he''d done okay he would have been sacked eventually (it happens to everyone) and then he''d no longer havea  job with the club he loves. The sensible thing for him to do would have been to accept the caretaker role for the rest of the season and then give up when we were relegated. There would have been no animosity towards Gunn and he may have even been able to get a job back at the club.

I can understand fans being annoyed but songs like we want our Norwich back is never going to help. I was there last night and as soon as the first goal went in the mood completely changed. We have to accept - that''s the players and the fans - that we will go one goal down during the season. This was a decent long throw and a good header. It''s going to happen. It''s how you react to that that''s important. Unfortunately the player''s heads dropped and the fans started singing sack the board and we want our Norwich back.

Us being in the bottom three should do that quite nicely. We need to get behind the team on Saturday and forget about protests.

I didn''t see Rossi Jarvis running through a brick wall when we were losing 1-0 against QPR in the final game of Grant''s management. He went missing like the rest of the squad. Only play them if they''re good enough.

So it looks like it will be Southampton, Charlton and one other. I actually think Plymouth are the ones to watch as they are rubbish and haven''t won since boxing day. So if Watford and Barnley get more than three points out of their games in hand it could be a battle between us and Plymouth which I think we could win. Why are we where we are? Because we have a poor defence and an even poorer strike force. For that you can blame Grant, Roeder and the board for never replacing Earnshaw. We can say the managers haven''t been given loads of money which is true but Grant did buy Strihavka and Cureton - we could have spent that on Martin Paterson. 

Whether Gunn is the right manager or not, the fact is that our team is not good enough. We''ve had a terrible defence for years but now we have nothing up front either. So we can play decent football at times but we can''t score and can''t defend which means we are going down.

I don''t think he''s good enough but Roeder had a problem with him and he put that ahead of the needs of the team. Right now we have Carney, Hoolahan, Drury and Betrand but against Charlton when both Bertrand and Drury had injury niggles he refused to put Lappin at left back even though he was the only player fit eneough to play there. Ridiculous. 

He might do. He''s only 21. It''s a strange thing how we expect so much of tennis players and if they don''t win a Grand Slam we write them off. You wouldn''t hear anyone say that Liverpool are a rubbish football team because they haven''t won the league for more than 10 years. I actually interviewed Andy Murray last year and he seemed like a decent bloke but he''s got this monotone slightly slurred speech that just makes him sound bored whenever he''s interviewedNorwich77.

I agree. I don''t agree with the appointment but really hope I''m wrong. I hope it will work out brilliantly and will be getting behind the new management team...    

The difference is that they were all coaches at the club and, in Walker''s case, he had been manager of Colchester where he was successful. Also what about Megson and Deehan. I really hope I don''t have to add Gunn to that list to even it up.
