1-0 Ecuador, after 2 minutes, could be a long night for Qatar

Hunt's plan seems suspiciously cut and pasted from the Labour manifesto

I think the Mister Chops Christmas Panto was the best post ever made on here.

Also interesting to note that the first football club in the UK to fully embrace the 'Moneyball' philosophy was Brentford under Matthew Benham... and who spent three years implementing that philosophy on the pitch? Dean Smith.
I think it's likely that unless results fall off a cliff and we end up in the bottom half, they'll do everything they can to keep hold of our Deano. There may well be at least a season of transition before we see ourselves back on an upward curve. My guess would be that when they talk about 'patience' towards the end of the video, that's basically shorthand for 'we're going to stick with this manager and see if we can give him extra weapons and expertise to help him'.
Both Matthew Benham(Brentford) and Tony Bloom(Brighton) became multi-millionaires with the mathematical modelling of football games, and then using that data to beat the bookies. Given how advanced and evolved the market is in the UK now, I struggle to see anyone from the US being able to add much though.

I think one of the biggest things in the Farke system was having two full backs with genuine pace. Once Aarons and Lewis came into the team it helped to make the overall system work. That and Buendia, and Pukki playing through the middle.

Asked how much money he has invested into the Bluebirds, Tan won't give an exact figure.
"But it's more than £200million," he states. "Actually the figure is a bit embarrassing. It's too big."

Rotherham just scored

I'm not sure if anyone watched the Southampton Newcastle game, but thought Southampton played quite well. They lacked anyone who could shoot though, and Newcastle were clinical. So I struggle to see anyone getting an improvement out of Southampton.

Nathan Jones seems an odd choice, has done very well at Luton but failed with Stoke. Though Michael O'Neill and Alex Neil didn't fair much better.

I believe that either Sunak or Truss supplied so much damning evidence to the Parliamentary Committee that Johnson was screwed.

I doubt it. He's being cagey because under normal circumstances the top two candidates would be voted on by the party membership. I think the expectation is that a deal will be done so that the second placed candidate simply concedes, and gets a top cabinet post in return.
It's happened before. I think Leadsom conceded to Theresa May for example.

Though the Chief and Deputy whips have just resigned

Though it sounds like that they just didn't turn up, not they they supported the Labour motion.
For all the noise and the blustering, looks like no Tories voted for the ban.

Three minutes for a VAR check, which dubiously rules it out.
