1. Totally correct accessment of both players!

Baffling decision to get rid of one of our best ever players after finishing in our worst league position for 40 years only avoiding the drop to the 3rd tier by 3 pts gained against a disinterested QPR team!

And yes I''ve moved on like many times before while supporting Norwich but it will never make it right!

Roeders clearly got his favourites, for instance Russell is one of our best players but Roeder will drop him at every opportunity and only brings him on when he clearly has to. I noticed Russells body langauge when Koroma came on at the Ricoh on Saturday, that said everything about the situation!

  2. We dominated the midfield but yet again there was no end product where it counts in front of the goal!

Lupoli should of done better with the awful headed effort he put over when he could almost of let the ball hit his head and it would of been on target!

Koroma shot very tamely when put clean through!

Croft as per usual missed a great chance in the first half when he didn''t connect with a great cross then had other 2nd half opportunities to put in crosses with team mates in good positions but didn''t come up with the neccessaries. Looks promising but delivers the goods not often enough!

We need extra firepower up front!

  3. Silly question!

Pattisons the new Andy Hughes a guy who''d run through a brick wall for the team 200% commitment but will never be good enough to secure a regular place and position in team!

Russell does the same but has some finnesse, very impressive up front against ColU. Should be an automatic choice, Roeder doesn''t seem to like him I sense!

  4. Probably in the 10th to 16th positions!

This leagues always very very tight and theres normally not a lot of difference between most of the teams!

Therefore I''d say if Roeder gets a decent striker and the new signings blend well and we hagev luck with injuries and suspensions we''re capable of making a bid for the play offs.

Though a scanario of bad luck, the team not binding together well and Roeder not getting a decent striker in could see us struggling at the wrong end!

  5. It would take something pretty horrendous like a seriously over the top price hike!

I''ve always gone and would never stop going to home games just cause so and so were running the club or the team manager. Norwich City football club is bigger than any one person!

But the board must realise that just cause theres many like myself who will always go it doesn''t mean we are satisfied with the reluctance of the board to have a good go and make a serious push for promotion!

  6. OK I do understand that we aren''t going to spend loads on a reserve keeper but this guy Robson is still very uninspiring. We had Gilks from Rochdale last year who was one of their best players and from watching him play in the reserves I could see he was a more than handy keeper who would of been up to the job had Marshall dropped out, this Nelson guy just seems like a journeyman!

As for the Portsmouth guy, yes hes a cheap option but then again he should have pace and might turn out like Ched Evans!

Yes I''d agree that Spillane is unlikely to make it but he wasn''t given a decent chance last season. He had a couple of games in midfield where he got stuck in and impressed me - Thats more than the waste of space Gibbs who done nowt. I can''t believe someone else thought he was decent and was hoping he''d play instead of Russell. Just cause hes from Arsenal doesn''t mean hes any good!
Nelson was released by Leyton Orient, one Dvision below us who struggle to attract 5000 crowds. The boy from Portsmouth probably hasn''t played much 1st team football (if at all?) and could turn out to be as inadequate as what messrs Henry and  Gibbs were last season!                                                                        I don''t like sounding pessimistic but for a club of our size and potential these signings just stink of cheap options and are very uninspiring for our 23000+ regular supporters!
Henry was useless but Gibbs was decent, just unspectacular.

Anyways, what if he''s in the Ryan Bertrand or Ched Evans category of just being pure class?

It''ll be nice to have someone in the team with genuine pace like this guy should have.
Gibbs was decent!!!!!!!! - You are having a laugh! - Lightweight who made no mark on any game he played for us. His best two games were his last 2 home games when he passed it sideways and backwards and tryed to kung fu kick the ball instread of trying to head the ball on goal - Sorry but Gibbs was very poor!                                                                                      - Though I hope your right and this Portsmouth guy does turn out Evans was last season!

  9. ITS ONLY A FRIENDLY!

    Thats what must be remembered!

Being a regular Norwich fan of many years and been all over to see them, I can''t stand once in a blue moon supporters, SKY tv fans who never go to games and try to make out they are the same level of football fan as those of us who go to games but tomorrow night I''m amazed and proud that we''re selling out a pre season friendly even if much of the crowd will be the local Spurs supporters who''d get lost trying to find White hart Lane. - The scum got 7000 against West Brom yesterday, if your looking for a comparison!

I''m very partisan at official, competitive games but tomorrow night is just about seeing the new look Canaries team gell together and watch a decent Premiership team. I probably won''t wear any colours, will not get anamated and start singing and don''t care a monkeys if I''ll be sitting with a load of plastic SKY tv, so called Spurs supporters. I won''t argue with these sorts cause at the end of the day I''ve probably seen their beloved Spurs team more than what they have!

  10.
Whilst I agree with you.. its getting very very boring[|-)]
If a major issue about your club is boring then maybe you should do something else or at least don''t read this thread!

I''m very disillusioned and tired with the club at the moment as I''d suspect most other fans are and this Peter Cullum isn''t going to go away cause anyone can see that the club would move forward more with Cullum than the current lot!

Only kept being played so Roeder wouldn''t fall out with Wenger
Its only how it looked from where I was standing and many others thought the same as well!

Could you please explain then why was it that Gibbs was continually poor yet was often played in front of better players like Croft, Hucks and Russell?

Just cause hes from Arsenal doesn''t mean hes any good!!

  12. Hope not cause last season he was so poor it was embarrassing, then having to listen to the "he''ll be good in the future, hes from Arsenal" brigade trying to defend the total no end product loan spell he had with us, just about topped things off!

Only kept being played so Roeder wouldn''t fall out with Wenger and playing him alongside other poor young loan players was the reason we went from touching distance of the play offs to struggling to stay up right until the end of the season!

To be fair he wasn''t our poorest loan player as James Henry from Reading was even worse!

People have compared him to Bentleys spell with us but thats totally unfair on Bentley cause he did produce in some games and showed so much more willingness than what Gibbs did!

It''s coming Delia. Please jump before you get pushed - and take that condescending prick Doncaster with you.
ahh you have some money then

Go on Offer her the money, take the risk underwrite the club and its debts

On that basis why dont all the fans that have called or her head raise the finance themselves and do a better job  ( and if you think its a good idea read Bournemouths history)

Lots of noise from people who could nt hold a cnadle to the current regime  As much as I dont like it at least I understand that it is not easy to do something different
I agree nearly all of us couldn''t do what Delia have done for the club, but at the end of the day if Peter Cullum is not the right person to takeover then I can''t see who the hell is!

Delia and Co have done a good job for the club but its looks very likely they can''t take the club any further somthing that Peter Cullum could.

Like the one year too long that Worthy had with us and we''re still suffering for it, I fear that Delia and Co will be staying well past there sell by date!

I''ve said before that the board now think that we''ll always get 24000+ crowds whatever and we''re too big to go down, but another struggle against relegation or indeed relegation and the crowd will start dropping and Delia will be in a similar situation to what Robert Chase was in 1996.

And with the not very big squad, other clubs signing players the prospect of us struggling next season is more likely than us having a good season!

I am off as Shola didnt sign, but for all off you who think I gave you nothing.......

Over 45,000 read Good News Gordon related postings (so they must have given you a bit of fun)

I said on the original message that we were trying to sign Bertrand but if we couldn''t get him we would sign him on loan (check he is one of the six I said we would get)

I said Wes had signed infact I insisted Wes had signed when all doubted it, I never give up on that

I said Bell was one of the 6 that was almost done just a few issues and I think you will find he is the one to sign in the next 24 hours

On the day Sammy signed I told you there was a signing happening (and that was the 1st posting I ever gave you)

I said  a press conf with signings today even Roeder thought it would be done today, but now expects within 24 hours

I said BEFORE Roeder announced it that he was after six permanant players and four or five loans

I still  insist Shola will sign very, very soon

And the last one Gow will come very soon.

Now OK I haven''t been 100% far from it, but neither has Roeders predictions as to how he thought things would go

All of what I have said can be checked on the original posting on about the fifth or sixth page.

If you want me to post what I hear I will if you don''t I am out of here
Don''t worry!

Forums are forums and the bulls*itters soon get smelt out. If you know things then fair play to you, keep us informed, don''t let the fartknockers get to you!

  15. Lets hope that something is going to happen with Peter Cullum cause everything about the bloke is right for the cluband the directors would be very very blinkered if they didn''t see this!

But in my experience of hangers on in pre season tours, hangers on at Colney who think they know it all, other hangers ons, people who know someone at the club, people who''ve put large amounts of sponsorship into the club and think they are first for all the latest news etc, is that the club will often tell these sorts things that aren''t true cause they know they can''t wait to go blabbing of to anyone who cares showing them how much they know.

Believe things when they actually happen!

The public announcement of Peter Cullums interest indicates to me that something could be about to happen otherwise if it doesn''t the directors will become under enormous pressure from the fans.

  16. I said the same thing this morning!                                                                                                                                                      Delia has harped on about only selling to someone whos not an outsider and has an affinity to the club - Well Peter cullum fits this critieria more than what she does! - She only became a Norwich fan through her husband, wasn''t born in East Anglia even and I''m old enough to remember the publicity pics of her wearing an Ipswich shirt in the run up to their cup final appearance in 1978 - No out and out Norwich fan would dream of doing such a thing!           -    That said I respect what Delia and her husband have done at the club, but I feel that Peter Cullum is too good a chance for club to just dismiss and Delia and co have to think of the clubs best interests!

  17. Spillane was very unlucky last season cause when he played in central midfield he was competant, got stuck in and did much more than Rossi Jarvis who was kept in the team for longer and indeed misfit loan players Henry and Gibbs (just cause hes from Arsenal doesn''t mean hes any good!). When Roeder came in he seemed totally frozen out. I think it will be very hard for him to get on at Norwich. Maybe a good loan spell would convince Roeder.

Martin never got going at all last season and the few times we saw him he done nowt!

Stories of it going to his head don''t seem wide of the mark, but hes shown hes got talent and its a case of getting it out  of him again, but hes drinking in the last chance saloon!

  18. I think Andy Cole would possibly do a job for a season and his long career indicates hes a good pro and would be a good role model on younger players but - Hes 4 years older than Hucks, slower and wouldn''t do it for low wages - All aparently reasons why Hucks was let go so it would be very contradictory!

  19. Exactly what I''ve said to those who were bemoaning us selling Joe Lewis and most of them never saw him play. Lewis while looking promising, didn''t ever look that wonderful and was never good enough for the Norwich 1st team!

Sometimes when it comes to giving youngsters pro contracts it comes down to personality, atitude and whether they have towed the line or not. Fairly recent examples are Norwich letting Paul Hayes go when he would now be good enough to play in the 1st team after a mistermeanor and the Jarvis bros and Henderson getting long deals despite never looking like they would be good enough!
