1. Fact - mathematically we have a chance of getting into the play offs   Fact - Mathematically we can still get relegated!   (Just hope the team maintains current form and luck by just taking each game as it comes!)   Fact - No such thing as getting promoted too soon - I''ll take it if we have a chance!
2. Great and lets hope he doesn''t ever wear a Norwich shirt ever again - Not good enough, never has been, been at club far too long and will probably do nowt at Notts County as well!
3. I was disapointed with our dealings on the last day but glad we did get some players in, but I refrain from moaning cause we''d of all taken our current position in October!   But quite simply we should of paid the £1 million asking price for Taylor straight away cause we know hes more than good enough and wanted to come here. Big mistake that one!
4. I believe you have hit the nail right on the head OTBC!   We knew he''d be more than good enough so we should of bit the bullet and spent £1 million on Taylor!
5. The Norwich City club badge still looks great and very modern even though it was first used in the early 1970''s, so theres absolutely no point in changing it!   The very reason it was brought in then was cause the old design was looking very old and we needed a much better design. The badge now doesn''t look old, we don''t need a better design cause I don''t think their would be one so therefore it doesn''t need changing!   Like those who critiscise our club anthem - On the ball City, which itself is also original and great.Remember the scum haven''t got an original song and their ''tractor boys'' nickname was nicked from a mid Suffolk pub team! Some people have to moan about something and assume that other clubs are so much better of and we have to move with the times but thats all rubbish, Changing this great club design would be scandalous!   Most people have forgot that we did change our badge for one kit whcih was the 2002, 100th year anniversary shirt and that badge design wasn''t a patch (pardon the pun!) on our usual badge!   The Norwich City  club badge is instantly recognisable Nationwide and also in many other Countries, its really smart!! Like the green shorts in the late 1990''s our smart club badge should STAY AS IT IS, THERES NOWT WRONG WITH IT!
6. The authorities thought that fans would adapt but as we see every game in the Barclay lower tier and other popular areas at other clubs this hasn''t happened. Its not just old timers from the old terraced days either - Fans too young to of gone on the terraces and some not even born when the old Barclay was ripped down in 1992 prefer to stand so the habit is getting passed down the generations!   Hillsborough was caused by the police and stewards opening up the gates and letting in of the street anyone regardless of whether they had a ticket or not. This led to too many people in the stand added together with the fences and penns which didn''t allow for a quick emergency exit all of which ultimately led to all the tragic fatalities. Nothing actually to do with the fact the stand was a terrace. The 1996 trajedy at Ellis park in South Africa where the death toll was over 100 was caused by the same thing - too many people in the stand, but this was in an all seated stadium. I''m convinced the tragic events that day in April 1989 at Hillsborough would of occurred even if the stand would of been all seated at the time!   Modern day ground control and regulations are vastly suprior to those in the 1980''s. Bringing back limited areas of terracing (like at Carrow road the Barclay lower tier and the snake pit) for home fans only wouldn''t pose any problems. Particularly if terraces were made to have walkways in front of them to allow for quick exits and fans were not allowed to congregate in exits and aisles.   Its not right that lower league clubs have standing areas, non league clubs, almost every other sport has standing areas, you can stand at music concerts and the German Bundesliga who get bigger crowds than our Premeirship have standing areas and top 2 Division clubs in England aren''t allowed to have them!   Myself personally I used to love standing in the old Barclay and even in the river end from time to time. I hate the current sit down - stand up nonsense thats goes on nowadays in the Barclay. If terracing was allowed to return this would cure this problem as those who wished to stand did so in the standing area and those who wished to sit did so in a seated area.   I have spoke to Neil Doncaster about this and he gave the impression that if it became legal again then some parts of Carrow Road would be turned into terracing again cause the club are far from being against having terracing but he claims the powers that be are very unlikely to change their stance. - Although the bring back terracing campaign refuses to go away and the word is that authorites are maybe thinking about it!   This issue will not go away certainly not in my lifetime which hopefully has another 50+ years to go yet, so please all in favour keep spreading the word and supporting campaigns to bring back limited home areas of terracing!
7. Would probably do a job as a squad player and would certainly be more effective than Jarvis and Martin - PUT TOGETHER!   We desperately need another targetman as well as Dublin!
8. With the way our club works, you just can''t tell when someones about to be announced as our new signing, so stop the pessimism!
9. Back in the real world - Earnie had a chance to return to the Premiership and on a much higher salary to boot!   If you was offered another job doing exactly the same thing and gettting much more money then who wouldn''t go?   If we would of got promoted Earnie would not of looked twice at Derby and would of been happy to stay with us!   Footballers careers are short so they have to grab every opportunity that comes there way. Affinities to clubs don''t exist for the vast majority of players, its a business!   As for having Earnie back - I wouldn''t be against it but we need a big targetman more than we need need another midget up front, though Earnie and a big, tall striker coming in would be nice!
10. That puts to bed one of the most craziest rumours I''ve ever heard! -   At Barnsley last Saturday a guy was saying that Roeder was on his way back to Newcastle!!!
11. Yes its not the end of the world cause any City fan in October would of taken being 4 pts above the drop zone and an FA cup 3rd round defeat. Afterall maintaining our Championship status is the main priority!   BUT this was against p*ss poor Bury who are 18th in the 4th tier and it breaks the momentum up a little and prevents the club from earning some much needed income from a cup run!   Last night was a half hearted.display. The squad isn''t good enough or big enough to be able to rest players!   The only optimistic things you can say from last nights ''shower'' is that a cup run isn''t going to hamper our survival bid or even the long shot of a play off place which is still possible and Roeder must of finally realised that Ryan Jarvis is never going to be good enough and therefore (hopefully) won''t play for the club again!
12. I hate everything that the MK Dons stand for!   One of my best away days in recent years was going to Rotherham and seeing them get relegated on the last day of the season and joining in with the Rotherham celebrations and pitch invasion at the end.   Franchising should never of occurred in British football full stop and the continued use of ''Dons'' in the name is pissing on the real Dons who are now AFC wimbledon!   If  Milton Keynes would started up in say the Southern league and worked their way up through the league pyrimid as well as dropping all links with the old Wimbledon set up then I''d accept that but stepping straight into the place of the old Wimbledon team was so unethical and should never be allowed to happen again!   Sadly it seems to be working though and with that t**t Peter W**kleman bankrolling them I can see them being in the championship in no time at all. If they got into the premiership they''d be like Fulham in that most of their fanbase would be gloryhunters or tourists who can''t get in at Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham  Though the problems with the old Wimbledon set up started when they left Plough lane in 1991, a ground which as it turned out could of been rebuilt and would of still been good enough for them. The local Council also didn''t help the club one iota.   Would love nothing more than to see AFC Wimbledon overtake the franchisers!
13. Mathematically yes we can, but realistically probably no but while its still possible then go for it!   But we are still nearer the drop zone so we could still go the other way! Thats one of the great things about this league - until fairly late on in the season a team in our position can still possibly be playing in either the Premiership, the Championshiop  or league 1 next season!   We have a very small squad. We need Martin Taylor, a big targetman up front and another central midfielder brought in this month if we are to keep this good run going cause sooner or later their will be injuries and suspensions!   Best Canary call I''ve heard for a while was the other week when some old boy saying our loan players wern''t no good!!!! - He obviously don''t go to reserve games then!
14. I''ve been thinking exactly the same myself ever since the Iliev situation arose!   Surely the club would of known he wouldn''t get a work permit from the beginning?   After the failings of the Strihavka this would of been way too much of a gamble to take.   I''ve watched Birmingham recently and wondered why Taylor couldn''t get into their team cause the back line looked very weak!   Hopefully we cam still sign Taylor!
15. Er No!   Suppose you think Henderson was a great player as well!   I was certainly at yesterdays shocking game!   All Jarvis did was lay the ball sidewards or backwards. He didn''t put the Bury (yes Bury of league 2!) defence under any pressure at all. Pace = No. Strength and physical presence = No. Will to win = No.   4.5 years he had with us and still yet to establish himself!   The reason he hasn''t has a run in the team is cause when hes had chances he hasn''t taken them, so a manager isn''t going to keep on playing him when hes being totally ineffective.   In a perfect world he would make it with us cause hes from our academy and has been given far longer than almost anyone else ever has, but it isn''t going to happen. Anyone who says otherwise is deluling themselves!
16. Your having a laugh!   Ryan Jarvis isn''t good enough for Championship football and never has been. He lacks strength, pace and the desire needed to make the grade.   In fact I''d rather play the ginger pele himself up front cause he''d be more of a threat!
17. Ryan Jarvis is in his last year of a 2 year contact this season.   Though hopefully he will be on his way sooner rather than later cause he will never make the grade with us!   Shame we didn''t flog him to Leyton Orient last summer when I''m sure we''d of got something for him!
18. Yes Bury can be proud of themselves cause they put up a good performance though Norwichs totally inept and disinterested performance played its part in that!   I was surprised by how many Bury fans were there, a good turnout of up to a thousand I''d say!
19.
Unfortnately health and safety are absolutely correct about the dangers of standing in seated areas. All seaters were always going to kill atmosphere, the fans want sating areas and there is absolutely no evidence that, properly controlled they cannot be as safe, if not safer than seating. Just dont put the fences up..... durr! Bring back the terraces
Exactly!   All seaters were brought in after the tragic events at Hillisborough in 1989, but that incident was not a direct cause of terracing.   The authorites thought that people would forget about terracing and sit down but that hasn''t happened. indeed in the Barclay youngsters not born or who were too young to remember when Carrow Road last had standing areas in 1992 prefer to stand, so its not just the oldies!    Terracing causes no problems in rugby, lower leagues, non leagues, horse racing, stock car racing, speedway, in fact almost every other spectator sport, concerts etc. The German Bundesliga which get bigger attendances than the Premiership have a lot of standing areas and their are no problems.   Its a fact which many who used to go in the old Barclay and the new version will tell you - It was easier to get out of the old Barclay terrace than it was the new all seater version so that completely dispels the safety issue!   There is so much justification for allowing areas of standing for home fans at grounds. Quite simply allowing walkways at the front of the terrace (like at the Cardiff away end), no pens or fences and exits kept clear like they are in seated areas then their is no gopod reason not to have terraces.   Personally I''d rather stand like I used to in the old Barclay but when I''m in a seated I''d rather sit on my seat as you don''t see the game any better by standing and I still chant when I''m sitting which some people don''t seem to be able to do!.   So this sit down, stand up nonsense we have every game in the Barclay would be ended by the return of terracing to certain areas of the ground thus giving people a choice of sitting or standing. As for atmosphere, yes I''d agree that all seated have helped to nullify many grounds atmospheres but like out European games and the ones in our Championship year show that all seaters can generate great atmospheres.   Yesterdays game against poor lower league opposition, crowd down by 4000 and a weakened Norwich team looking very disinterested and playing woefully until going a goal down is hardly likely to inspire a great atmosphere is it?
20. Strivaka has been an expensive mistake partly due Grant having no contacts and unable to attract players to this club.   Roeder has got contacts, Taylor is there for the taking and is proven and as a previous poster mentioned the defenses communication skills amongst themselves aren''t the best as it is so adding a foriegner who probably speaks little if any English would make things worse. So why would we need to go down that route again? Only being used as a pawn in the ongoing squabble with Birmingham over signing Taylor - I HOPE!
21. Things haven''t worked out for Chris Brown here so if we get some money back and insist he doesn''t play against us when Preston come to Carrow Road then it will be a good move!   Brown has become a scapegoat here. Yes hes limited but not as bad as what hes been made out to be.   His aeriel and physical presence would of been handy inrecent games where we''ve been hitting long balls to 2 small strikers who didn''t have no chance. I think he would of been OK as a squad player, certainly more useful than Martin and both Jarvis boys put together.
22. Ryan Jarvis made his debut for Norwich at the back end of the 2002-03 season and played a couple more times that term.   Thats now 4 and a half years ago. Yes he hasn''t had runs in the team since but that is cause when he has had chances hes not done enough to justify a longer run in the team.   Ryan Jarvis is exactrly like his brother Rossi. Technically both are talented but they both lack the pace, strength and sheer will to win attributes that are essential in professional football. Ridgeons league is their future I''m afraid!   I get very tired of all this ''hes going to be good in the future'' attitude that a lot of fans have. We saw the same thing happening to Jarvis with Henderson who was never going to make the grade in a million years, yet for far longer than what should of been it was ''he''ll be good''. If a player is good enough then from the age of 18 he should of established himself in the team within 2-3 seasons. If after this 2 and a bit years he hasn''t then they have to move on. for instance Darel Russell first played for Norwich before turning 18 and then established himself by the age of 20.   Ryan Jarvis should be compared to another good prospect who made his debut at around the same time in 2003. Jason Shackell whos now an established member of the 1st team. Shacks has gone from good prospect to solid pro. Ryan Jarvis can''t be labelled a ''good propect'' forever.   We should of sold him to Leyton Orient  in the summer when we would of got a little bit for him.   I''ve been reasonably impressed with Spillane in the past but he isn''t moving forwards as we thought he might.
23. Rumours round the ground todays is that Earnies returning on loan very soon!   While I think alongside Dublin, Earnie could be very effective playing him up front alongside another ''shrimp'' like Cureton for instance would defeat the object!   Signing Earnie on loan doesn''t sound far fetched in the slightest cause he hasn''t cut it at the premierships poorest team so his next move will be o the Championship with or away from Derby but probably with.   Believe it when it happens not a moment before!
24. Jarvis laid the ball of well but really made little other impression and didn''t hurt or scare the opposition in a physical manner which today were League 2 strugglers Bury- Hes not going to make the grade at NCFC but that was apparent to me, 2-3 years ago. Needs to be let go.   Jarvis was better than Martin who didn''t hold the ball up, missed a chance or 2 and was too easy for the Bury defenders to mark. Has doen nothing this season after doing so well last season. With last seasons heroics in mind the club should loan him out and give him another year to try and get him back to last years wonder displays.
25. Funny old 4 4 2 with the very ineffective Jimmy Smith nowhere to be seen on the right wing and indeed in the game apart from the overhead kick!   I do think that Cureton and Evans are dangerous players but not playing together! Yes I couldn''t agree more that we need reinforcements and to get some of the deadwood out but Saturdays game was winnable if we''d of started the game with line up and formation we reverted to when Dublin came on and it says exactly that in the EDP today.
