1. Valesco - looks very slow but his technique and quality were mighty impressive!
 2. We were very poor in the 1st half although we slowly got better as the game wore on. We didn''t string many passes together and Watford totally overwhelmed us and our goal led a very charmed life!  We were fortunate to be just 1-0 down!   In the 2nd half we took the game to Watford and were the better team for most of the half, although we were not creating any out and out chances.   At half time it didn''t look possible for Norwich to get back into game but thankfully they did and my cold night out in Watford was made more pleasant in the 2nd half!
 3. I''m glad others are seeing what I''ve seen for the last 2 games!   I was ''slagged'' off big time on here last week for saying the same thing!   Though ironically in Gibbs'' defence I thought on Saturday he had his best game for us so far cause he done some nice passing allbeit sideways and backwards mainly and was trying to get stuck in and even made a couple of tackles!   BUT he was still lightweight, no threat to the opposition and largely let the game pass him by which was why our midfield was over ran until Pattison came on. Gibbs was also at fault for Blackpools 1st goal cause he had the chance to put in a bread and butter tackle on the edge of the Norwich area and break up an attack but his tackle was half hearted and Blackpool were 1-0 up 5-10 seconds later!   I give him credit for looking like he was trying on Saturday but hes still not good enough for this Division full stop regardless of whether he comes from Arsenal!   Funny people are slagging him after Saturdays game which was his best for us so far but were praising him for last Saturdays performance when he was worse!   I can''t wait for Russell to comeback!
 4. Rossi Jarvis and Eagle are very likely to be released at the end of the season, so its no surprise they wern''t included! - Though in fairness they are no worse than what Gibbs and Henry have been so far!
 5.

He was dreadful Saturday, no tackling, no energy, Pattison working overtime to cover for him yet if you read the EDP today he gets 7/10, the same marks as Docherty who was superb and our best player. That in itself is ludicrous, Gibbs was at best 4 or 5 out of 10!
Not in the game I saw. Pattison was total crap, and Gibbs was much better than Pattison. Gibbs improved, and will improve further given more time. But hey, let''s string him up before he can show us what Wenger and the England management see in him. P.S.Pattison really was crap. P.P.S. Well done Roeder for having a pop at the "I''ve paid my money so you''re gonna have to put up with whatever garbage I choose" gnat-brains. He saw where that leads, at West Ham. Seriously, it''s ruining football, leading to England fans booing the players, and other nonsenses.
Pattisons passing was crap agreed but his energy, running, commitment etc effectively doing 2 mens work in the middle was excellent cause Mr Gibbs was a complete passenger. Without Pattison we''d of been completely overrun in the middle. Luckily for us we were playing one of the poorest teams I''ve seen in this Division and I''ve been to more games than what I''ve missed!.   The fact that Mr Gibbs is an Arsenal indicates that there surely must be something there but at this moment in time hes not good enough for Norwich, no better than others who Roeders frozen out and should not play again unless we''re really short. But turning a blind eye to poor performances just because hes ''from Arsenal'' is complete ''Tosh'' as my fellow devotee Ricardo puts it!   Yes I pay my money to go to most games but I will always say it as it I see it and don''t tell lies even if that means saying that some or a certain player is crap or if the fans scapegoat Docherty has a good game (our best player since replacing Taylor at the back!). The people praising Gibbs performance on Saturday are so blinkered its unbelievable. We had the same rubbish earlier in the season when most other players were getting slagged (some deservedly, others not) and yet Rossi Jarvis in a very similar vein to Gibbs looked clearly out of his depth and was not helping the team one iota but yet hardly anyone critiscised him.   I will back any player in a Norwich shirt who is worthy of that shirt and of the required level but not those who so blatantly obviously are not. If Gibbs is to play for Norwich again I hope he plays in a manner that makes him worthy of the shirt but his 2 performances so far indicate that is not likely! If Gibbs plays in the middle in preference to Fotheringham or Pattison they''ll be something very very wrong about Roeders selection!
 6.

Gibbs still looks well out of his depth. The whole game I don''t think brook it to sweat and if I remember rightly had real applause only twice We have to remember he was only playing because there was no one else available and most probably he has to play so many games in his loan contract. Pattison worked hard also partly to cover for Gibbs but cant pass a ball. In this universe both players are really bench warmers.   FOOTBALL MUST COME FIRST
Thought I''d enter the Gibbs debate and say that he looked better in the Barnsley game but I have to agree with BBFF that he still looks out of his depth and in my opinion is lighweight, afraid to tackle and no better than any midfielders that we have at the club.
Precisely!
 7. If we come 7th then Glen Roeder should get knighted, an MBE as well as manager of the year!   The only slip up in the January transfer window was that we should of signed Taylor when we had the chance instead of trying to haggle and in the end Brum wouldn''t sell cause they ahd failed to sign a centreback!   In hindsight this would of been the best way forward for us, Taylor, Eduardo and Arsenal!
 8.
He''s proved nobody wrong. I''m sorry but he''s no better than a carl robinson, the super invisible-man in the middle. I call players how I see them, I''m not ashamed to admit I''m wrong and not afraid to call a cr@p player cr@p. So far gibbs has been poor at best. If he plays against blackpool not only will I seriously be annoyed but I''ll be very dissapointed.
At last somebody speaking some sense and saying it as they see it, like I did rather than believe all the tosh being wtitten abour Gibbs! People not at the game and just reading the match reports in the EDP are being so mislead! I''ve got the utmost respect for what Roeder has done for the club but obviously part of the deal in getting these loan players was that he has to play them and hes trying to cover this up and people have fell for it!   Shacks was very unlucky to get dropped cause he hasn''t done anything wrong but thankgod Pearce done well!   Most fans are only turning a bling eye to how poor Gibbs has been cause hes from Arsenal. If we''d of got him from another Championship club or a lower Division then people would be saying it as it is!   As I said before just saying it as it is!
 9. The Doc/Shack partnership has in the main been very good so it was unfortunate for Shacks that he head to make way for Pearce who I suppose Roeder ''had'' to play at some point as part of the loan deal!   Good job Pearce had a good game!
 10. I thought Barnsley were one of the poorest teams I''ve seen at Carrow Road in the league this season. good job cause I think with our performance we''d of struggled against most other teams ion this Division.   I''d say Blackpool will represent more of a threat than toothless Barnsley and its a good job we''ll have dublin and Fotheringham back from suspension!!
 11. The Doc, the Ginger Pele has been our best player since replacing Taylor when he went back to Birmingham in December!   Yesterday against Barnsley he was our best player and should of got man of the match which went to Pearce instead. Mr Pearce did without doubt very well yesterday considering it was his first game but didn''t warrant MOTM as the Doc covered for him on a few occasions!   How many live games do you watch ''Housten Canary'' cause you are well wide of the mark about the Doc and seem to be just latching onto all the ''scapegoat'' crap that fans always pin onto the Doc which is dreadfully harsh and very wide of the mark.   I''ve been slated on here for saying that new loan signing Gibbs from Arsenal is crap, but I go to games and I say it as I see it and unforutnately for us regardless of where he comes from Gibbs has been crap for us in 2 games and looks out of his depth!
 12.

Hucks: Really disappointed by his performance, he was at his "head down, run into a crowd of players" worst. Felt he slowed down our attacks to many times by taking a load of touches and was really selfish. It''s ok for him to hog the ball when he is racing past players and having shots, but he would hold onto the ball and get tackled, putting Bertand under a lot of pressure. Hope he is just laking a bit of sharpness. Oh, and his corners were pretty poor too. Pearce: Felt he looked really good. Played well in the air, soild in the tackle and read the game really well. Distribution was up and down, but he didn''t always hoof it up the pitch, which is encouraging. A worthy man of the match, in a game with no real stand out performances. Gibbs: Played well, not a great ball winner, but closed down well and look alright in the air. He passed well and help Norwich keep possesion when everyone else seemed to be passing to red shirts. Was hindered by a shocking Patterson who would give the ball away whenever he could. Would like to see him and Fozzy play the next game. It wasn''t a great performance yesterday, we looked streched with Croft and Hucks both playing very wide and Patterson having a shocker in the middle. There doesn''t seem much point having to wide players when we have nothing to cross to in the box, Dion would of done well Yesterday. Starting to worry about Evan''s form, he has games like Cardiff where he is magnificent, but hasn''t really done anything since. Sure he will pop up with a couple of goals soon though.
Have to say I think you''re being very harsh on Huckerby. Did you see him lay the ball across for box for Crofty near the end of the game? Hardly the work of a selfish player. As for your views on Pattison having a shocker, well without him on the pitch yesterday we''d have struggled to take all 3 points. His passing wasn''t always great but he got through so much work it was unbelievable. Thanks to him Barnsley struggled to getting any flowing moves going. Shame that you don''t seem to appreciate how important he was to the team yesterday.
Have to agree!   Hucks wasn''t great but he still represented a threat and gave Barnsley something to think about most of the time!   Pattisons passing was shocking but his workrate and commitment were excellent and they had to be playing with Gibbs who again in my eyes looked (but not others for some strange reason!) out of his depth and bypassed totall!
 13. In theory going on lasts weeks results then YES!   But Barnsley could play Liverpool 10 more times and they''d get well beat!   Thought Barnsley were very poor yesterday cause we wern''t too good either!
 14.

I was at todays game like I''m at most games and I was at the Hull game the other week!   Gibbs done nothing, didn''t tackle, didn''t pass that well and looked out of his depth!   Again another fan who thinks that just cause Gibbs is from Arsenal even if he plays crap he/she turns a blind eye to it!
HMMMMMMMMNNNNNN, no just a fan who likes to take a look at the big picture, thus reserving judgement until a picture can be developed to create better understanding of players qualities. Again Scotty ole pal, making a very quick judgement about yours truly!!
I sincerely hope that Gibbs does improve on his 2 showings for Norwich so far cause if he doesn''t he will not make it in the top 3 Divisions let alone Arsenal!   If Gibbs had showed more commitment and a willingness to get stuck in then I''d give him the benefit of the doubt but he hasn''t and those qualities are must haves certainly to make it in any professional league. Do you think blokes like Pattison or the much maligned Andy Hughes (both with little finese whatsoever) would of made pros just on ability alone of course not, or at a higher level good skillfull top players like Rooney, Beckham etc.   That my friend is the bigger picture!
 15. I''m glad a few others see what I''ve seen so far from Gibbs!   I never said Pattison was that great either!   Pattisons workrate (had to work overtime being with Mr Gibbs in the middle!), desire, and commitment were first class but unfortunately his passing was Sunday league!   Like I''ve said on other threads thank god we were playing a poor Barnsley team!
 16.

Overreaction. Yes he played well today. hardly put a foot wrong. But that was one game against a very poor attack. I don''t care what you say about them beating Liverpool last week. You are judging Pearce on what you saw today you then you must do the same for Barnsley''s front line. They were very weak. He did a great job. Let not get carried away and lets not heap pressure on the lad. Swallows and summers and all that.
Agree totally!   While Pearce done well but the Doc covered for him on numourous occasions who I consider the real man of the match. But for a 19 year old in his debut I don''t think you could of asked for more!   He was certainly much better than Gibbs who again was awful, didn''t tackle, didn''t run, hardly got near the ball and looks way out of his depth - in other words the black Rossi Jarvis! Makes me scream when people go on about him being an Arsenal and England U19 player!
Scott, i really don''t understand your gripe against a player who has obvious ability. Gibbs played well today, and looked full of energy and running; I for one feel it was a real coup by Sir Glen in getting him here, it was only his second game. People need to give young players time to adapt to new situations and surroundings. How were you Scott when you started your first ever job; maybe a bit of reflection might help you empathise better with a young player living in a new city away from family and friends
I don''t expect wonder performances to often cause if players were that wonderful then they would be at a higher club than Norwich. But one thing I''ll always expect in a half decent player is the willingness to get stuck in, work socks off and not look scared of getting the ball. I''ll fully support players with these qualities.Gibbs so far in 2 games hasn''t show any of these qualities and to many people are turning a blind eye just hes from Arsenal. Good examples of players who impress me with these must have qualities are Russell and the excelent Evans. Though I do hope Gibbs improves while hes with us!   I say it as I see it regardless of who the player is and frankly Gibbs doesn''t deserve to start against Blackpool cause he hasn''t been nowhere near good enough in his 2 games. Don''t get me wrong I''m over the moon we won today with a rather patchwork line up but we were lucky to be playing a very poor Barnsley side. Forget that Liverpool cup win cause that was lucky and on another day Liverpool would of scored 4 or 5. Better championship sides would of ripped us apart today!
 17. Hes doing more than OK though I think at times his lack of height and physique can hinder him!
 19. You are having a laugh or you watched Norwich V Barnsley in a parallel universe!   Gibbs didn''t tackle, wasn''t on the pace, his passing was below average and he generally looked scared to express himself! - He was a passenger and his partner Pattison weas having to work overtime to cover for his limitations!   Don''t get sucked into believeing all this hype about him being a wonder player cause in 2 Norwich peerformances he has done absolutely nothing and has looked our worst player. looks no better than Rossi Jarvis! Comeback Russell and Fotheringham quickly!
 20. Hucks - Always a threat though got quieter as the game wore on!   Pearce - Considering it was his first ever start he did well but not as great as some are making out. Doc covered him a few times, but overall it was a very encouraging debut for Pearce!   Gibbs - Some of the earlier posters were watching a different game to me cause I thought Gibbs again was awful, afraid to tackle, lacking energy, passing was very loose and genearlly looking out of his depth. He was easily the worst Norwich player which meant that his midfield partner Pattison was having to work like a trojan to cover for him. I don''t care that hes an Arsenal player and has played for England U19''s cause in his 2 Norwich games he has contributed absolutely buggeralll to the cause and looks scared to express himself. Looks no better than Rossi Jarvis.   I''m afraid to say that while it was a win it was against a very poor side and we looked for the most part disjointed. Certainly against some of the better teams in this Division we''d of struggled to of got a point out of todays match.. But when we get our 2 first choice midfielders back and Shacks then we can be a match for anyone in this Division, though the current lack of depth in our squad, the amount of loanees and the lack of decent youngsters coming through the academy fully emphasise the massive job Roeder and co have on their hands!
 21. In the case of Bertrand, Evans and after todays performance pearce YES!   But in the case of the woeful Henry and Gibbs - NO!
 22.
Overreaction. Yes he played well today. hardly put a foot wrong. But that was one game against a very poor attack.
