1.
I find it difficult to understand that I support a side that has supporters that appear to get more enjoyment out of their side losing, it is strange and concerning......... and these people will again go missing next week after we win our next home match.......and then they will come back again when we lose our next away match and so on...........whilst there are many on here who at least come on after every match for a decent chat about the match and also without getting abusive.........
Bang on the money yet again I''m embarrassed by fans of my club. This week people are trying to bolster their agenda/credentials I really despair what it is they are trying to inflate but they are somehow trying to do it by claiming that at least they still came on here last week moaning after what was a fantastic victory against the Spuds. [:@]Guess only real fans moan when we play badly and when we play well huh? That seems to be the latest claim to credibility round here anyway... [:S]
 2. Lambert got lucky today make no mistake the team he fielded was losing and getting well beaten, Lambert didn''t change a thing.
 3.
So after that performance our Permiership survival is officially out of our hands. We are now relying on the results of others.
Completely overlooks the fact that we have still to play three of the bottom four. [:$]
 4. The clean sheets stat is remarkable, the moreso when you look at our dreadful goal difference. I felt JR was off the money in the earlier part of the season and was in favour of dropping him for Bunn. I was getting particularly concerned about his ability to deal with shots from outside the box he seemed to have become very vulnerable to these but thankfully since the West Brom game where he was outstanding he''s turned it right around and a few more performances like he gave us vs Spuds and he might achieve both his wishes of staying up with NCFC and going to Brasil  and he might just give Hodgson a selection headache whilst he''s at it.
 5.
Lambert is an ex-hero and is in the past.  Today could see us finally lay the ghost of both Lambert and Holt. Great though they were for us, they are history and beating them today would be one of the most satisfying results we have had for a long time.
Huzzah to that !!
 6. Is it wrong to say I found the serious matter of Pardews behaviour hilarious but found myself deeply troubled by the size of Steve Bruces waistline and head? I''m not talking a few excess pounds here I think we''re looking at excess pounds per square inch and I fear it''s not long until he explodes...[:S]
 7.
like when he wanted a three year contract? McNally sure told Holt eh...
Look at the bigger picture Lincoln. How much did we receive from Wigan for Grant Holt? How much would we have received from Wigan for Grant Holt if McNally hadn''t renegotiated his contract? As had been said earlier on this thread McNally does what''s best for the Club not Holt not Hoolihan the Club!
 8. @Shefcanary:That''s interesting and I wish him well but I don''t think for a minute any continuation of his career will be with us. Maybe if he''d come to us a few years ago and stayed "for the ride" he might have developed into a Prem quality player but I can''t see he''s going to be good enough now to be the type of player that will benefit us and take us forward.
 9.
I bet his podcasts come - sorry, would come - with warnings and an 18 certificate. Bless.
They do.Huckerbys Boots Podcast Warning contains bad language over 18''s only.
 10. Probably nothing but I saw a G4S van on the A47 a few days ago could this mean we''re trying to sign Ched Evans?
 11.
Shut the ***k up you pathetic little ***t
Ooo err seems the foreign looking chappy isn''t the only one who''s RC on this thread.
 12. @ Thorpe End CanaryAs you''re in the Doug Ellis stand it''s therefore unlikely that you''ll get your chance to shake Lamberts hand, touch him inappropriately or whatever else you had hoped in fact being on the opposite side of the ground from him he''ll be quite difficult to distinguish now he dresses like it''s grab a granny night down the local so here''s a tip to help you identify him.Paul Lambert is the one who will be down on his haunches with his head in his hands at several stages during and after the game.Hope this helps!
 13. Poor old OGS, what has he let himself in for??Following a candid Vincent Tan interview with the BBC which included such gems as : "In the January transfer window, I was very involved. We spent about £6m for seven players. In the summer, we signed seven players and committed almost £50m. I want to make sure we spend correctly. If I''m involved, I make better business decisions, getting better value for my money. "Next summer I''m sure we will do better transfers because I will be personally involved. We''re not going to let our manager run wild." and of 23 year old work experience candidate Alisher Apsalyamov (since declined a visa to stay and work in the UK):"Tan praised Apsalyamov''s "incredible football knowledge" and says his view that Cardiff overpaid on transfers "has been proved right".Of M. McKay:"He didn''t do very well at Watford, but somehow our CEO and our chairman hired him and replaced Dave Jones,"Now OGS has been forced to come out public with a statement saying that he is in charge of the football side at Cardiff.Looks like the honeymoon period is over and Mr Tan is once more doing everything he can to ensure that Cardiff get relegated. [Y]
 14.
I wonder about him too. Not sure what bit you''re referring to, but you can''t really slate him for picking a Villa win - based on how we''ve done recently against them. If it''s for his final line though: "They have probably heard about that so they will be trying really hard" , then I I agree!... Do you think they might''ve probably maybe heard about the fixtures, do you really Mark? What a bell.
Erm that line was said by comedian Tim key (Simon in Alpha Papa)
 15.
You don''t really get how football rivaly works beardy do you. Plonker.
[:D]Maybe give him the benefit of the doubt here, he was probably very confused after learning there might be married mothers in BinsVille.
 16. Clearly anti semetic and a racist? Well yes and no, or actually no then yes. He originally worked with a Jewish comedian partner for a number of years and actively campaigned against the French National Front which he perceived to be racist. It was only when the Jewish/Zionist lobby took issue with a sketch of his and hounded him through the Courts on privately pursued racial hatred actions that he turned on them. Now I don''t know about you but I''ve never been privately prosecuted by either an Englishman, an irishman or a Scotsman or even a Welshman  but I guess they''re more tolerant of humour. It must have been a bad Jewish joke and they were very vindictive in their pursuit.  Even more of a turning point was his entertaining a "Holocaust denier" with a slot on his show, you just can''t do that in Countries with a strong lobby so the baiting he received as a result of that subsequently led to his indictment and conviction on eight anti-semitic charges.  Yes in a country which doesn''t seem to have any qualms about imposing racist, anti-islamic legislation it is a massive problem if you even suggest that we''ve been told a few fibs about what really went on in WWII, to deny that 6m died in the holocaust is deemed intrinsically anti semetic despite the wealth of evidence proving such claims to be grossly exagerrated. To deny is also behaviour likely to incite racial hatred because many people of many races truly believe the numbers we were fed for the first fifty years, some still even believe that the most famous holocaust photo of all was not taken at the scene of a train crash in Dresden Ohio US in 1912. [8-)]  Some years back the Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial plaque was removed, the four million figure was revised** and replaced with that of 1.5million an enormous discrepancy of 2,500,000 alleged deaths. I''m not talking "internet evidence" this was done by the memorial museum itself. The new one is currently displayed at the camp museum.  Thing is you aren''t meant to know that the old plaque read 4 million because then the sums don''t add up and that''s deemed anti-semitic in France, Germany and a host of other countries. Simply being able to prove you are speaking the truth does not neccesarily detract from the incitement to racial hatred aspect of the charge. Still I''m sure Anelka will benefit from being "re-educated" as part of his punishment. Wont be long at this rate before they can activate a probe remotely..[:S] They''ll get me too through my ip address no doubt.....[;)]** The original 4 million figure was obtained from Rudolph Hoss at Nuremberg trial under questioning there never was any documentation or other providence to this claim sought or found. Nice we''ve got this far into such a delicate topic without it collapsing, it''s quite a concern to me that the FA has taken this one on, there are gaping holes and assumptions in the entire process which ultimately must have relied upon pressure from the lobbyists to even get started. Whether you can see it or not this is political intervention disguised as racial equality being applied to the FA and I don''t think that''s what the FA is there for. Really how many people knew what a Quenelle gesture was before Anelka did it not many outside France I''d wager, who was offended really offended by the gesture and who saw it as another means to continue a standing feud with Dieudonne who has since now been banned from UK and more. The FA has acted like the bloke who can''t be racist because he''s got black friends on this one.
 17.
I am on of those lucky human beings that is going to experience This when I am in the same stadium as the Messiah on Sunday. I don''t think I will sleep between now and then with excitement.
As we thought, nowhere to be seen when Lambert was in charge of this club and we were playing in the lower leagues but reach the Premier League and suddenly up pops Bell end canary, I always thought you protesteth just a bit too much about the plastics, clearly the whole thing is a charade to deflect our attention away from obvious Johnny come lately glory hunting plastic fans like yourself!
 18.  I just can''t see the Villa fans chanting for Hughton as they seem to have had a pretty bad experience with the last manager they tapped up from us....... [:D] They''re going to have to start chanting for somebody tho'' I mean Lamberts two years is almost up, Villa hasn''t worked for him he''ll be off I''m sure. What about Megson is Gary Megson working these days? Knows the City well after West Brom, good Championship manager......[:D]
 19.

They haven''t branded him anti-semitic, they made that very clear.
They can say what they like in a statement but if the "Man on The Clapham Omnibus......."
They categorically said it broke the anti-racism rules, but didn''t believe it was meant to be anti-semitic. Don''t think he''s got much chance of a successful appeal at that rate.
So they say it''s offensive to Jewish people in general but it''s not specifically offensive to anyone who is Jewish. M''kay. Any other races been lobbying the French Parliament about the gesture? Nope thought not!So if a word or action is deemed offensive towards a particular race of people and somebody is publicly "found guilty" of using that word or committing that action would the man on the clapham omnibus accept the caveat "Although we''ve found mr Smith guilty of using racist behaviour and punished him for it we don''t think he acted in a racist manner" or is he inclined to think as NWC did above that Mr Smith is a bit of a "nazi". As the gesture is not deemed offensive in law or by any formal constitutional entity in any country then the FA might have been better served with a warning or reprimand rather than the punishment issued. Anelka is now in the eyes of many a racist, a Nazi etc. etc. this isn''t going to go away easily (imo obviously, he might swallow it personally I doubt it)
 20.
I wonder if the Villa fans will be chanting Hughton''s name on Sunday.
I''d say there''s more chance of you hearing the Norwich fans chanting Chris Hughtons than that.
 21.
They haven''t branded him anti-semitic, they made that very clear.
They can say what they like in a statement but if the "Man on The Clapham Omnibus......."
 22. I believe if he appeals then he would be able to play until the appeal is finalised.I think if he genuinely didn''t mean anything anti semitic by this gesture then his honour binds him to appealing this and through the Courts if neccesary or he will forever be known as a Nazi/Anti Semite. I can see this happening and don''t believe for a minute that a Court will interpret this gesture in the circumstances if at all as anti semitic.
 23. This Anelka matter is a very interesting case and I wouldn''t be at all surprised if he appeals it as far as possible considering that the FA has now effectively branded him a racist/anti semite. The only extremism I''ve picked up when looking at the incident emanates from the professional victims who are claiming that because the quenelle is effectively the opposite of and ultimately different in every respect from a Nazi salute then it is clearly a racist salute in homage to the Nazis. That really is the fundamental reasoning behind their anti semitic claim......[:S]I think Anelkas best hope lies with somebody in possession of half an ounce of common sense handling the appeal if not if I were him I''d be in the Courts in no time.
 24.
they all seem to have bunked off......
I can understand why they might have been quiet for a few days but they seem to have even lost the heart for posting the usual incessant torrent of threads telling us how and why we''re going to lose our next match, it''s going to be difficult for the "I told you so" threads to appear next week should we lose at Viler.[:S] Back to topic that''s an interesting read sure enough, this Hodgson fellow seems a bit of a self important super fan but it''s difficult to argue with anything he says save for the claim that Villa are a top six side, I''d say top 14 myself, they may have never been relegated from the Prem despite a few close shaves but neither have they particularly bothered the European placings. V I wonder if when the going gets really tough for them as I''m sure it will whether the players at Villa will back their manager the same way as say for example......... the players at Norwich have clearly backed theirs?
