  1. Seriously? Byram cost an alleged £750K. A conservative estimate for wages would be £30K a week, so that’s £1.5 million on top of the £750K. Then there’s loan fees for Fahrmann and Amadou, possibly Roberts, and of course wages, which must be £10s of thousands a week. And then we got Rupp and Duda and similar expenditure again. Our actual spend on loans and Byram this season is easily somewhere north of £10 million. And this obviously ignores wage rises and bonuses for existing players.
  2. Short memory there Pugin. Max definitely struggled for his first few PL games.
  3. WTF is that strip Man City wore against Sheffield Wednesday???
  4. Stieperman hauled back and we get nothing!!!
  5. So, who are the penalty takers? Idah Drmic Cantwell Stiepermann ?
  6. I read about that on here about 90 seconds before I saw it
  7. I’m starting to think when we get told it’s Rupp it’s actually Drmic. If not, he’s been almost invisible.
  8. Watching it on iPlayer on Nowtv now and it’s absolutely fine.
  9. What’s the one thing that comes to mind when you think of Vrancic? Free kicks? But he’s not taking them...
  10. Not sure about that, but Aurier on Todd was a yellow all day.
  11. That’s not fair, Jamal was marking him, just couldn’t stop him.
  12. Can't see Evans paying what he would cost. I'm sure he would expect a lot more than Lambert who was pretty much a busted flush.
  13. But presumably his wages are high. McGovern isn't a bad shot stopper, and we do have a couple of academy prospects if the worst happens.
  14. Hmm, quite an interesting theory... 🤔 but then I am Bill, so that just goes to show what to make of theories.
  15. Why aren't we complaining? Because, for most of us at least, we look around at the likes of Ipswich, Bury, Portsmouth, Sunderland to see where we might be. Then there's Derby, Forest, Leeds, Middlesborough and all the others who think they are deserving PL teams but who have consistently failed to get back there. We have over-achieved even before you look at the relative poverty of our owners. But not only have we managed to spend 5 out of the last 8 seasons in the Premiership, we are now building the foundations that will give us the best chance of improving on this. We play youngsters, and we play entertaining and admired football. Yes, this season has been a disappointment, but most can see that we are establishing ourselves for the best possible future.
  16. It’s a big “if” though, isn’t it? We know owners of every club in the PL apart from ours have wealth that they’re prepared to put into their club, the last thing they would want to do now is to let them fold. If they need to put their hands in their pockets, they will.
  17. This. Every time we get a throw we seem to wait until the opposition are stood directly in front of all nearby players, and then spend a minute or two dithering because there’s no easy route to go. It then gets thrown either long, which more often than not we lose, or to a nearby player, who passes it straight back to the thrower who is then immediately pressed by the opposition and again we seem to lose possession more often than we do anything productive. Maybe someone who understands the game better than I can point out why it’s more complicated than just being solved by a quick throw?
