Overall IMO decent home commentary, but the main annoyance was that they were happy to praise their players for committing professional fouls as “necessary “ but they felt our players were falling over too easily when pushed. It’s a twisted system of values.
It’s the same for us all. We ******* loved Grant Holt when he wound up the opposition with his gamesmanship. I remember us all being incensed when the Blades blatantly wasted time when playing us, but I was in the crowd at Bramall Lane singing “Take your time Norwich City” the following season (unfortunately I also seem to remember them scoring very late on).

I’d forgotten that. The commentary team saw it, I think they said the Cardiff player put his head (AKA a footballer’s head butt) onto Emi?

I must admit I smiled to see you being positive about Mario, but on reflection he had very good game.

Just now, CirclePoint said:I have to say, I'm not sure what he was doing rolling around with the ball there at the end. Very immature. I know he didn't get the foul but his response is very embracing.
Using up time? He'd already taken it into the corner once.

Five posters have already disagreed with you and I'm the sixth.

Fair dos.

Apparently Wilson tugging Todd back by his shirt is "a great yellow card".

Sounds like a second Cardiff player should have seen red.

What do you want? Blood?

Depends how much his name would score at Scrabble.

What are the chances of Todd's differently coloured boots triggerIng Lakey?

Great shot from Todd.

Pack sent off, can't have any complaints there.

TBF, until their goal, that was one of the few crumbs of comfort for them.

2-1. Bound to happen.

Little bit less impressed with the Welsh commentary now. You'd think Cardiff had never bought a foul or used up time.

4 minutes ago, All the Germans said:I'm not sure why it bothers me so much, but is it winding anyone else up how their commentator pronounces Barden?
It's called a Welsh accent. Everyone speaks that that in Wales.

I've not been reading this thread during the first because of a flat battery, but how good was that? Kenny has been great, Todd is working his nuts off, repeatedly winning the ball, Hugill causing problems up front, and it's even enjoyable listening to the opposition commentary! As Cambridge has said, some pace from Placheta or Hernandez could be very interesting at about 70 minutes. I just hope I haven't jinxed it.

I meant the Radio Norfolk commentary!

We don’t get because of Covid for away games do we?

Hung the first time I clicked the Next Match link, but as soon as I had a second go it worked. And Hanley finally scores with a header!!! Well worth a tenner!

That is my “back to normal” benchmark, the first time I go to a match - but with a decent crowd around me (so it’s likely to be ten years or more for Ipswich)

Yeah, but...
There are too many people who judge last season on what happened after restart. It's a commonly recognised psychological effect, the months of competing, some decent results, but being not quite good enough, is wiped out by the dire end to our season. 21 points from 29 games is not enough to stay up, but it's not a million miles away. But that is somehow wiped out by the 0 points from 9, and it becomes incontrovertible that we had a terrible season.
If your intention is to criticise the club, then I can see you will focus on those nine games because it is convenient. If you are genuinely looking for a balanced view, then you need to look at the bigger picture. Merson is clearly not one of the intellectual giants of the football world, what's your excuse?
