1. Ah...should read the whole thread rather than skipping straight to page 2 and posting!
2.
Its already agreed, hes definetly coming back for at least the season.
You sound so sure Arthur, I am pretty confident it will happen but do you know something for sure? I''m not going to ask for a source just wonder if your confidence is wishful thinking or you are actually in the know.
3. I agree totally CotT but think we have failed in this area previously because we have played all out attacking players in these positions. Huckerby for example, he''d obviously be the first in that position for us all but he wasn''t defensive minded at all. Likewise Hoolahan. I do believe there is a balance to be had though where a team can have two pacey wingers with the ability to do both their attacking and defending duties.
4. I''m going for 6 and an attendance of 26,648. Against Preston (just in case anyone plumps for the same) ;-)
5. I don''t usually listen to much of what Claridge has to say but he seemed to be impressed with Matt Phillips last year http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2009/mar/10/wycombe-leaguetwofootball Sounds like he has potential.
6. Agree we need pace on both the left and right side. Have to confess that I don''t know a lot about the two lads you mention but this is the area I feel PL needs to strengthen next. Lappin obviously gives you a delivery on the left but I think we may need another option in the Championship. Jury is still out on Mcnamee for me. I notice he didn''t make Capello''s 30!
7. But not in the Jan Molby mold. Anyone agree we need a little width with pace on the flanks? We''ve always had good wingers but seem to lack any real quality in that area at the moment.
8.
Doherty [:P]
I don''t believe Doherty plays for us...
9.
Simon Tracey
I don''t think he enjoyed playing at Carrow Road! From Wiki: The loan spell that he spent at Norwich City during the 1994-95 season was a nightmare for Tracey. He made three appearances - in the first he ran mindlessly out of his area allowing Coventry to score an easy goal, in the second he was stretchered off with an injury and in the third he let in five goals in an FA Cup tie at Everton. In 2000 when he played at Norwich for Sheffield United he made a similar charge from his area that allowed Norwich striker Craig Bellamy to score.
10.
I think we need to take a leaf out of Leeds'' book and go for ambitious attempts like Russell, FF or Montgomery.
I think you will find we have offered two of the three ''ambitious'' targets you mention contracts to play at Carrow Road next season.
11. I have mixed feelings about this one. I have to confess that I was never a huge fan of the Doc last time we were in the Championship. However, he came back well this season and I don''t think Nelson is as good a player (personal opinion). This suggests to me that Lambert has another player lined up to come in. The Doc would be too good/expensive for a number three/four centre half. Whitbread was brought in to play, Askou is good enough (in my opinion), Nelson would be adequate cover but I wouldn''t be surprised if someone like Makandawire turns up from Orient to play alongside Whitbread.
12.
Martin took a good look at the keeper and then jumped into him, I couldn''t argue with it and didn''t even jump up and celebrate.
This is exactly how I saw it. Martin pushed into the keeper. Surprised by the yellow card though. Will be interested to see a few of the decisions again on the FLS tonight if we get any airtime!
13. 1. Hoolahan 2. Holt 3. Forster Agree with The Duke, Hoolahan got my vote.
14.
Yeah very good result, if you would have offered me 4 points from Huddersfeild and Swindon I would have ripped your arm off, still feels like a kick in the balls when you concede last minute goals though....... [:''(]
Feeling your pain but like you say 4 points from Huddersfield and Swindon away is a great return! Bring on Leeds!!
15. Just started a thread earlier saying exactly this. A good days work. 1 game further to promotion and no ground lost. Bring on Leeds!
16. OK not great considering we were 1-0 up in the 90th min but how many of you would''ve taken a point at the start? We got a point Charlton got a point Swindon got a point Colchester lost Millwall and Leeds play on Monday so only one can gain on us. 1 extra game down and no ground lost. A good days work!!
17. I have mixed feelings about this. Part of me thinks the lads have done great this year and we should be celebrating that; I for one will be so relieved that we are back in the Championship! On the other hand, I think we should never have been in this situation in the first place. Some serious mismanagement from the club IMO and why should we celebrate getting back to where we should be? Is that arrogant? - I know we have no divine right to be in the Championship but with the set up/fanbase we have we shouldn''t be playing in the third tier should we?
18. Had a couple of tins myself this evening and now going to open a bottle of red. Cheers!
19.

In your face, "Cracked Diamond"ers! ----------------------- "We have set an unbelievably high standard of football," he said. "There have been matches where we''ve won four or five threes, and as soon as you win 2-1 people think they''re not playing well. "Honestly, I hope it never happens, but if we don''t play well or we really get a doing from somebody, God knows what you''ll write - and that''s us at the top of the league. "So, top of the league and people still have a go - it''s a bit bizarre, because we''re playing really well and we''re up there on merit. We have had a great run and we will keep on going. "The thing that annoys me is the lads have turned an unbelievable season around really, really quickly. When was the last time this club was top? So people forget what it''s like up there - except us, because I know what it''s like." Lambert was bemused at criticism of his decision to leave midfielder Korey Smith on the bench for the midweek win over Southend - which made it eight wins and two defeats in 10 games since the turn of the year. "He had a hamstring problem - and he''s only 18 and it is my prerogative to do what I want with him," said Lambert. "And he''s only a kid and it is up to me. If I make a story in this club it''s my decision who I play and who I don''t. "Pressure is part of the game, you have to be able to handle it and don''t read your own press because somewhere along the line it comes back and bites you. The only one they have to please is myself. It''s my opinion who I think can play and if the lads do that then great."
Lambo is having a go at the media here, not people on message boards, as has been suggested earlier in this thread.
Beat me to it! He said earlier that fans pay their money and are entitled to their opinions. Personally, I think it is wrong, for where we are now it shouldn''t happen. I have booed in the past but not when we are top of the league. Maybe when we''ve previously showed no passion and given up the fight but not now. Not when we are moving in the right direction!
