1. Agree with you Ryan, I was pleased with Helveg initially and in fairness I think he got better when played in his natural position. I just think it''s the hunger that will benefit us this time round with players on the up rather than players on the way down.
2. I forgot De Laet! Just guessing on the two more really. As I see it De Laet provides the competition/cover for the full backs. I would''ve thought we''d be looking at some further experience/competition at centre back. There are also strong rumours regarding Fraser Forster again and that makes sense to provide competition for Ruddy.
3. Or Vaughan, Morrison, Bennett, Pilkington and Johnson with at least two more to come. I know which excites me more. ILWT
4. Ruddy Martin Barnett Whitbread De Laet Crofts Fox Bennett Hoolahan Surman Holt Subs: Rudd, Tierney, Ward, Johnson, Vaughan, Jackson, Morrison
5. A winner already...come on give the rest of us a chance to guess!
6. CUSDP, someone I respect with genuine inside info, have you heard anything? Wasn''t you I was speaking to in the pub last night was it?
7. Chatting to a guy last night who claimed to be ''in the know'' all things NCFC. I must add at this point, that I was in a pub and this guy had consumed a couple of shandies so I am not overly convinced. However, he added a new name to the mix that I hadn''t heard before so thought I''d share. He claimed to be good friends with a member of NCFC staff and that our remaining targets were: Darren Ambrose Madjid Bougherra Bradley Johnson who he says has signed. 2 of these three could easily have been picked up from this message board but I hadn''t heard Bougherra linked with us before. Anyone heard anything about us being interested in him? Obviously there''s the Ewan Chester link.
8. I say ditch the goal music - we know how to celebrate a goal and lets get rid of the 3-2-1...kick it off before kick off too!! We can start OTBC without someone telling us when to sing...
9. The Emirates is the only ground in next year''s Premier League that I haven''t been to so that will be my No.1 priority - although judging by this thread that game is going to be over subscribed!! 2. Spurs 3. Liverpool 4. Man Utd 5. Man City Like others, would also like to visit Fulham to erase memories of the last time there.
10. Steve Morrison Robert Snodgrass Liam Trotter Paul Anderson/Scott Sinclair Ritchie De Laet Dedryck Boyata
11.
Remember when transfer fees are bandied about that the headline fee will be conditional upon a certain number of appearances - so I would expect with Vaughan that it might be £1.5 million down, another £0.5 million after 50 apperances and the remainder after another 25 - good risk management for a player who is injury prone.
Great point shefcanary. The fee may also be dependant upon goals scored in the Prem or staying up. If Morrison and/or Vaughan get 10 goals and we stay up I think an extra 500k or 1M on top off the initial outlay of 1M-1.5M is very good business!!
12. I''ll join the smugness of this thread and add that I got my first season ticket in 1998 but regularly attended when I was old enough from 1994 :-( However, I remember the crowds of between 10 & 15,000 back then and think it''s fantastic that we now have 21,000 ST holders and a waiting list of over 1,000 more with crowds upwards of 26,000. Albeit some may just want the Premiership football.
13. Can''t disagree with any of that. A good report. Watford away and Forest at home now become massive games. I''d like 6 points rather than the 4 you mention though Hucks; just to keep us ahead of the pack. I can see Swansea getting maximum points this week.
14. My first too Boyo. I gave the ''real'' fans a chance to buy tickets earlier in the week and then bought mine this morning. There were still quite a few left.
15. Guns N'' Roses - Paradise City Take me down to the Norwich City where the grass is green and the football pretty Take me home (Oh, won''t you please take me home?)
16. Just one to look for blame hey CT? It has to be someone''s fault; lets start a thread naming and shaming. Good one.
17. For the record I think the OP is wrong. Ward needed to be stronger in the tackle but Kebe got lucky. Barnett had to go to the ball IMO
18. Don''t worry he''s out injured now. Won''t be able to make these costly errors for a while.
19. I guess we could just use the old classic... Surman, Surman, Suman repeat until bored. To the tune of Eadie, Eadie, Eadie. Or Iwan, Iwan, Iwan. Or Leon, Leon, Leon. Or Greeno, Greeno, Greeno. Or Deano, Deano, Deano. Or Earnie, Earnie Earnie.
20. Oh well, just trying to think of some songs for our current squad as we''ve had such a turnover the last few season a lot of our players don''t have a song. I think that''s why we get the debate about atmosphere so frequently on here. We have quite a few quiet periods during games as there''s only so many times people are willing to repeat OTBC or Paul Lambert''s Green and Yellow Army. For the record I quite like the Holt/Torres song Nexus. I don''t think there are many clubs coming up with completely original football songs nowadays.
21. Thanks for the support Morty, although I''m not 100% sure whether there''s a hint of sarcasm there!
