1. Yes, much better. although i didn''t think Coventry were that good.

Dion, given his age, and that he had a broken vertibrae a few weeks ago and then a thigh strain when coming back must have been short of fitness, but yet again he was immense, with vision and leadership.

Fozzy, too was busy the whole game, not showing a lack of fitness, but should improve as he gets more games under his belt.

Rusty & Chadders probably had their best games so far although Chadders seems hate going down the wing and we saw Rusty & Dion on the wide right more often.

The new boys showed a touch of class particulary Sir Les (Pattison) and should also improve over the coming weeks with 1st team football/getting to know their team-mates.

Jamie was a bit disapointing, getting offside several times and missing a few that a confident Jamie would have put away. hopefully his goal will help him in that respect.

Hopefully we can continue to improve on Tuesday.

p.s Graham Paddon in his heyday would have shone like a beacon today. r.i.p Graham.

Hucks, where does that leave him ? Possibly up front, but for Tuesdays game i''d have him on the bench ready to be unleashed when needed.

    I''mm up for it !

It should be a very emmotional mmatch, I hope the only tears shed are before the gamme. Not at the end !

    COMMEON YOU YELLAS !!!!

  3. Thanks mate, best of luck to your boys against Palace. Your team consistantly punches above it''s weight. I dont how they manage to do it.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a win double against Coventry & Palace.

From an old Essex boy (albeit Southend fan,) once again thanks and good luck.

  4. Big Dave, like the rest of the squad had any confidence he may have had, knocked out him by Granty.

I hope Glen and his new traning staff can rebuild the spirit and confidence back and get us playing proper football again instead of that frightened, backs against the wall, rabbits caught in the headlights stuff that has been churned out for the last 3 years !

Its a big task, i know.

  5. In the 1970''s when i used to have Greyhounds running at Yarmouth Stadium, i used know a woman greyhound owner who would get so nervous when one of her beloved babies was running in a race, she would go to the toilets and keep flushing until the event was over. SHE COULDN''T BEAR TOO WATCH IN CASE SOMETHING ''ORRIBLE HAPPENED !

On Tuesday night I''M going my toilet and keep flushing. lol.

Well done Mac''s Perm, you were the only one right.

As for me ? Well perhaps I should have stayed away another week !
Well we looking pretty good at kick-off, but then it gradually got worse, apart from a Dion-like perfomance from Macs perm.

Remind you of another squad ?

As manager i failed miserably and therefore offer my resignation, in the hope that someone better can be found.

Well done Ray you got good odds for us. Just the small detail of the teams doing the business now.

I was gonna have a couple of quid on the accumulator myself but forgot all about it.

You are getting a reputation as a bit of Playboy, lol. Good luck, you deserve it.

Sorry to those people who chose Arsenal & Liverpool but @ odds of 1/6 and 1/5 they''re too short.

"        "     4/7     Chesterfield to beat Barnet                                                            Gorleston Jim

"        "     8/13 Southampton to beat Barnsley                                                         mbncfc

Arrdee I was thinking of you last night, listening to tributes to Johnny Gavin on The Scrimmage.  Someone phoned in who used to sit on that wall where you used to sit in the Fifties, in front of Cumfy and his mum - he might have been a mate of yours.  Johnny Gavin hit him with the ball and came over to make sure he was all right.

"mystic megson " the first match i ever went to i cried my eyes out most of the second half  , as i was hit in the face with the ball  my goodness it hurt , my brother kept saying "it would be you " the ball bowled me clean over , i think i was lighter than the ball , but i was hooked forever Norwich City the only club for me . Now if i could just put an advert in for my  coming posts . A letter for Arto involving Cumfy his  Mum & Cumfys gang .My encounter with two binners in Bulgaria. My mad dash to the newsagents .and by the way i know the identity of the Truthspeaker , but what do i do with it ? It ''s dynamite believe me . I will need advice on this before i dare say anymore. Now most of you know that Ruth is related to the Turners  ,i suppose i am through marriage but this has nothing to do with them , anyone that knows me knows i don''t tell lies , i don''t make things up ,believe me the information didn''t come from them . I have his name ,his telephone number and i think most of you on here knows him ,it is a him by the way . I better not say anymore . I await your advice .arrdee.
I know i should''nt laugh Ray but, i had a vision of you and the ball ending up the back row of terraces like you see in the cartoons.lol.

Those balls were heavy then and didnt half hurt did''nt they ! Especialy if caught the lace in your eye, ouch.
