1. Nothing going on.

I''ve been looking round  all the usual transfer sites and no good news. Aston Villa have turned down Brums offer for Gary Cahill, now Bolton are strongly linked with him. Martin Taylor must have played well for Brum reserves last night as they beat Arsenal reserves 2-1.

I would have liked to have seen 3 new faces by today, to let them get together in time for next Tuesday game against Saints. Glenn must be pulling his hair out in frustration. 2 good strikers and 2 good defenders, 1 central & 1 central/utility are needed, but the money needs to be made available or i can see Glenn & co doing Martin O''Neill.

This lad from Liverpool doesn''t seem good enough judging on last nights evidence. I cant see that Mclean being good enough to make the step up, too small and lightweight in my veiw. O.k. i know Earnie was small but he had the class in championship.

  2. I have been a fan of Hucks ever since he first joined us on loan. He has been nationally recognised as one of the star players in this league since he''s been here. But this season he has had this hip injury (and probably last season too) it''s gradually getting worse. He still got the class, but physicaly he''s not been able to do what he has in the past. Now all of us fans have known about this since the pre-season, but Glenn said he knew nothing about it until this weekend. This worries me. Was there nothing wrong with Hucks'' hip and he has just lost interest in playing for us. We''ve been told he''s been carrying this injury since before the season started but Glen said he knew nothing about it.

    Somethings not ringing true here.

I''ve been chuffed to bits with Glenn since day 1, and if he''s given the proper backing he can get us back to the Premiership in 2 years. But when he says he knew nothing about Hucks'' injury, somebody seems to be telling porkies.

Is it Hucks or Glenn ? Hope i''m wrong and theres a perfectly reasonable explaination, but i feel like a mushroom right now.

Now all you free bet Pickers alright ? What wonderful entertainment "Blah" provided for us all with .yesterday I hope he Is feeling proud of himself I know I am , It was a magnificent effort and so cruel in the end just to fail on that one away selection . "Blah" had put so much effort in I do feel for him . I do think that is the hardest result to call of all . Well I don''t have to think If we look at the stats It tells us there are least aways than draws even ,If we think about It Its the home side has ground advantage, the crowd behind them , the Ref giving every 50/50 decision to the home side , you are always up against , on less you are one of the top 4 in the country , when everything seems to drop in your lap.

Now are all you lovely Pickers happy with the rota ? I do watch everyones selection like a hawk , and I know my Pickers , For instance I knew 7rew would come in with East Fife this weekend .I don''t stumble from one week to another without knowing whats going on believe me . Now there are two pickers that I want to add to the rota to finish off March . The first one is Canarygeorge who''s input is always spot on , I think I have unearthed a [*] here. The other one is "Shack Attack" I think most of you know that "shacks" messages are brilliant . I now a lot of posters said that my post "My encounter with two binners on holiday" was said to be the post of the year . but I am a honest person and I know It didn''t come close to Andrews "Fans expectations for the season" which he posted on the eve of the season . a truly magnificent post that I don''t think I will ever see bettered . Talk to all you lovely old pickers later .[Y] arrdee.

    "Yankee"1st&2nd.

Arrdee, I''d honoured to go back on the rota at any time. I''ve already had 1 go at selecting the match''s (when as happens most weeks 1 selection let us down, bugger.) I know there''s no blame for getting it wrong. So if you want chalk me in at anytime Ray feel free to do so.

You are the Daddy of all the posters on the Forum and have the respect of all your followers.

    Wot, no Dean Coney ?

  5. Yeah, a great professional whose leadership and presence will be sorely missed. But you can see that he''s really struggling with his mobility.

He said it takes him 45 minutes to get warmed up for any action.  I dont know if he would be willing to carry on in some capacity at the club or whether he''s got something else lined up, but he a great asset as coach.

Good luck Dion it''s been a pleasure watching you.

Do I stand any chance of getting chosen arrdee?

I predicted the Bury score last night correctly (see post on here).  But alas, yet again I feel it will be a waste of time me making any selections.

Of course you''ve got a chance. Arrdee gives everybody a chance.

Just put your name up and he''ll fit you in, but there''s a waiting list. Also make a "nap" selection for this week to be considered for the coupon. Dont beat yourself up if it''s a loser (we''ve all been there) and theres no finger pointing, Arrdee wont have it.

    Good luck.

  7.
Probably not worst news for us if we are still thinking of Ameobi/others.  Sure he is going to want a look at everyone, but Keegan and Roeder were team mates (and good mates) at Newcastle in the mid-80s.  Keegan backed Roeder publicly for the Newcastle job when he was Caretaker only.
I was thinking this myself. It could work out very nicely for us, given the respect they have for each other.

Certainly Glenns got more good history with Keegan than with hoof-ball Sam.

  8.
1 million pounds for a proven Centre half at this level.  Leon Cort, Wayne Thomas, Fitz Hall all moved for around that sum this season

That seems to be the going rate for a proven central defender at this level.

Looks like Stoke are going sign the very promising Ryan Shawcross from Man U. for about £1 million too.

We could have had him at the start of the season.

    Hi. The sorcerers apprentice here.

Just to let you know the deed has been done. I''m not going into detail about toe of newt and eye of frog, just suffice to say it has been done.

I hope you''ve got it right Kathy as I''m off to Barnsley to stay with friends for the weekend and will be there at the game. If its not going well at halftime you had better get hexing again for the 2nd half.
Well done Kathy, Hexcellent first attempt !

Also well done to Glen Roeder, the players and our brilliant fans.

  10. We''re just like mushrooms, being kept in the dark & fed a load of bull$h*t.

But i trust Glen Roeder to get the best use of the respect he has within the game, to get the right players. Although how much help he''ll get from the boardroom remains to be seen. I''m not holding my breath.
