  1. I can already foresee another 2-2, which’ll do no favours for either side.
  2. Our season won’t be decided nor defined by the result tonight. The game management which cost us 2 points tonight has however been an Achilles for us repeatedly. Onwards & sideways!
  3. Fair point. Should have said ‘possibly’, not ‘probably’. Hope they do, though.
  4. I don’t think it’s ‘reactionary nonsense’ at all. After the derby (the high point of the season so far for most), any setback tonight was going to be of greater weight. I just think it’s human, especially when 2-0 up 15 mins in without really hitting the high gears, losing 2 points so meekly against a team who’ll probably go down.
  5. I can only assume he’s basically a 2nd tier Denis Srbeny with a famous name but minus the hat.
  6. For Sarge, another striker. If consensus is that players on our bench are of lesser quality, what you don’t do is change your formation/approach to accommodate those subs, which amounts to a double-whammy of knowingly diminishing the on-field eleven. DW: If Sydney’s genuinely that rubbish, bring Aboh on. If you don’t trust/prefer to protect Aboh, leave Sarge on. Don’t mess with the fundamental attacking structure, PLEASE. The annoying thing about tonight is that the points were in our hands and we didn’t protect them. We weren’t at our best but we didn’t have to be. I’m expecting a very unpleasant trip to Deepdale - more reason we should have put everything into 3 points tonight. Echoes of Loftus Road and The Den. Still, we’re still 6th, we didn’t lose tonight and we probably won’t see Gibbs employed as a stunt no.10 again this season. Onwards & sideways!
  7. This is lovely. Makes the Middlesbrough farce all the more frustrating, mind you.
  8. I was saying earlier that the only two good things about Middlesbrough were Jonny Howson and the band Benefits. Benefits, the crown is yours now.
  9. I thought the one on Sainz before the goal was worse than that. Walking it, now needlessly up against it. Brilliant.
  10. More likely he'd only just caught up and was going through the Horner Google Drive.
  11. Dimi again. Dodgy 1st half too, surprised the traditional substitution didn’t happen.
  12. We owe this lot one for the home game in November - I really expected Wagner to be gone after that match. Wouldn’t be surprised if we did them today by the same scoreline. Come on lads.
  13. No, but he’s decent going forward and this a game to be on the front foot for.
  14. The simple thing here is to not boo substitutions, full stop. There are at least 3 people involved in every substitution and for the players themselves, it’s unclear who’s actually being booed, more often than not. When Gibson entered the pitch a few weeks back I really felt for him; it was horribly uncomfortable. So much for encouraging our own players. This really isn’t about Wagner, or any of the squad. While I disagree with Wagner’s in-game decisions far too often, I can’t bring myself to ever boo a substitution, or indeed any of our own players in-game. Boo the officials, the opposition, boo at FT if it’s been an abject performance. If Fassnacht comes on at 60 mins for Rowe, cool. Encourage the lad. It’s not about staying home, it’s about giving your head a wobble and giving the team the lift. It’s what we’re there for, isn’t it?
