1.
Both are goal scorers who had an extremely poor season, but with good attacking quality in a lower quality league will score. if its a theorhetical you can only have one then rvw would be my choice
Well the new signing Grabban suggests Hooper might be the better fit - always thought Adams liked the Iwan Roberts type of player which RVW is not. But it will depend very much on whether he sees quality in RVW and if he does, he may be preferred - and his current contract may make him difficult/expensive to sell on anyway. I''d love to see RVW come good and unless he has good offers from back home, I still fancy RVW is more likely to be with us next season rather than Hooper.
 2. Yes he''s bound to be getting a sizeable pay rise but more evidence that our new manager has ideas and is prepared to work hard to implement them. This signing has surprised most posters on here (me included) - perhaps we shouldn''t even assume RVW is a cert departure.
 3. Totally agree with your sentiments Nutty. (Are we getting old or something?!). Would like to think all those spitting feathers will be good enough to own up when Adams brings passion, exciting play - and I believe success - to Carrow Rd. (I shall be if we are not looking really good come Christmas).
 4. Rogue Baboon: "Let''s face it, we were turned down by other choices " Not so much turned down I fancy as messed around. Add to that Adams can pick players, coach players, inspire players, probably retain the key youth players - and I can see why Glenn Roeder has not commented yet.
 5. Nice try C_C. I can''t wait for the first match v Town.
 6.

Adams certainly used to preach the benefits of taking the ball to the line before crossing. Snodgrass is a cert and probably Pilkington - with Redmond featuring when legs are tiring. He also stressed the need for "quality into the box" for the likes of Iwan Roberts and Hooper is surely no different. (David Fox anyone?) Probably more significant will be his choice of captain. If it''s not Bassong, I can only see Howson in that role.
Bradders would be my choice Binky.
Hmm maybe.Funny how you form an impression of someone''s character from watching from the stands - quite unjustifiably. I see BJ as a determined character but a bit of a maverick and a bit of loner doing his own thing - not really captain material. That said I watched him, Elmander and Tettey at the open day giving their all for the kids (I know, "and so they might") - he came across as a very considerate bloke.

 8.
Glenn Roeder might be able to lend a hand?
Possibly as chief scout if Simon Lappin comes back as assistant manager ;)
 9. To all those moaning about the selection of Adams: no top manager would have signed for us given our position and the number of games to go. Arguably Hughton should have gone earlier but we are where we are. Hughton''s position was untenable after Saturday. I''m not sure we could have got anyone better than Neil Adams for these final vital games but we could certainly have got a lot worse. Adams the winger will not send the team out to play as Hughton did. In all the circumstances I think the Board has made the right decision. Now we''ll see the players for real - one way or another.
 10.
I cant believe what I am reading... I''m not Hughton''s biggest fan, but to suggest he is worse than Roeder is absolute madness. Unless the trolling has gone over my head that is
AGREED! Most of Hughton''s signings have been good - Roeder brought in some real rubbish (Hoolahan, Lita and Evans the exception to the rule) - some ("Lovely movers") he hadn''t even seen play. Hughton is failing without a doubt - but put him in the same bracket as the man who appointed Fotheringham team captain of Norwich City? Don''t make me laugh.
 11. "Also do you think having this responsibility is having a negative impact on Bassong?" Well something is - unless he''s still lacking full fitness. Forays forward but seems slow to get back. Does he actually lead and inspire? Been immense for us but not sure he''s the fighter we need right now.
 12. Whilst I would love to see the lad given a chance v Stoke, they are usually a very physical side and a couple of times he did get muscled off the ball quite easily on Tuesday night. That said, his appearance made the difference - not just because of the goal (obviously) but because he stood out as prepared to move things forward and have a go. He looked a threat whenever he ran with the ball. The other substitutions were "more of the same" - good players who did not combine to exceed the sum of the parts. Although we had most of the possession, only in extra time did we look really composed and in control.
 13. Wasn''t at the Fulham match and I know lots of people say Francis went awol - but for me he was always a very good and often pivotal player in our side - and I agree with JAS that we never really replaced him. As for Etuhu - a decent player IMO (tho loads of my mates would disagree) but never ever as influential as Francis. A manager has to take much of the responsibility for motivating his players so that all players work for each other but sometimes personal problems are such that they cannot be sorted.
 14. Well I''m with Mrs Miggins, Camelfish, jas et al..Have a soft spot for Notts County and I hope for their sake he''s changed his spots -but it doesn''t appear so: "I can also play with the ball and I have got quality and I want to bring that to the team." In fairness to Roeder, I don''t believe he did actually rate Fotheringham - he just wanted to make a point in his nasty vindictive way. In over 40 yrs I cannot think of a least appropriate captain of NCFC. As others have said, good to remind ourselves just how far we have come in 3 seasons.
 15. Gingerpele said: Roeder wasn''t trying to sack him? He was trying to move him on, something that is commonly done....from what I can tell, and I may have the ''facts'' wrong but Roeder didn''t need him anymore, tried to sell/send him out on loan and Lappin didn''t want to go. And what has been suggested, is that was because it would have resulted in a pay cut. " Bear in mind moneyb was tight under Roeder, we were short of players but he pursued an expensive ( and wasteful) loanee policy when players like Lappin were on the books and could have done a job - a good job. I think the problem was Lappin''s wages at that time - remember he was signed virtually on a free from St Mirren by Peter Grant who enticed him down with a good deal. Can''t blame Lappin for that and City probably paid in higher wages rather than a big transfer fee.Am sure that niggled Roeder. But I for one am thankful he stayed on - and he may have taken a drop in wages under the new contract from Gunn. To say Lappin should have taken the hjnt and departed suggests other good players should do the same - David Fox comes to mind. As for the OP - impossible to compare but I would think there have been plenty of others. One local man comes to mind: David Stringer - as a player and a manager!
 16.
no
Agreed. I''m one of Lappin''s biggest fans but the HoF must surely be about football and the player''s contribution of it to the club. Cult hero doesn''t count on itself IMO.Lapps played more games than any other player in our rise from League 1 - but does that merit inclusion in the HoF? No!
 17. BTW - one for the statisticians. I know he''s started only a handful of games since we got promotion, but was he ever on the losing side in the Prem? If not, anyone know how many games since he was last on the losing side?
 18. Not sure I agree with some of the sentiments that as he''s coming on a free, what''s the risk? Players always used to take a cut of any fee - 10% - and will surely look to make that income up at least from a high wage and minimum contract. Sensible move to bring in cover but my recollection of Camp''s previous loan stay was that no-one was shouting "sign him up!" at the end of it. But could be a much better player now.
 19. Sad day even if it was inevitable sooner or later. He always enjoyed his game - and I always enjoyed watching him play. There''s been plenty of posters on here quick to knock him in the past - reassuring that this thread is so positive. Always been worth his place when called upon IMO. Whilst he might return to Scotland, my hunch is he may stay local. At least he has a few Premiership memories. Thanks and good luck in the future Simon.
 20.
The Spanish flag is a mixture of yellow and red, probably a tribute.
21.

Bye bye King. I don''t think we''ll beseeing you again in the yellow and green. A good professional who sticks to the task with out throwig his toys out of the pram.
I''d rather have players who ''throw their toys'' around rather than those happy to not play and pick up their wages.
On that basis Bethnal, Lappin should have gone when that brilliant and astute manager Roeder took such an irrational dislike to him. If a player is given a contract why shouldn''t he stay and fight for a place? Fortunately he didn''t go but stayed and played a key role for us in getting promotion - remember he played more games than any other player in the 2009/10 season. I''d rather pay to see players who give their all and with the right attitude. (Few would have given him any chance of a game away to Arsenal - never mind acquitting himself well on the day). Good luck King. I for one would not mind seeing him play for us one more time. Given his goal drought it would be ironic indeed if his last game for City was in fact one in which he actually scored!
 22. A left-mid, who could play left back By Roeder was given the sack But when recalled again He was King of all Spain But still not much use in attack.   (But he did a good job and played fair, And his shirt with joy he would wear An affable lad He must have been glad Roeder’s future  - not his - was elsewhere).   And going way back....   A forward by the name of Jim Bone His kind we had never known, He’d dribble right through For he was one of the few Who could take on a team on his own.   Bob Dylan, he wrote “Mighty Quinn” And so we all sang “Hey, Come all Within!” Did the great Bard not know His famed Eskimo Was not a patch on our John Man - ning.   From Rochdale we signed David Cross And at first he seemed rather dross But he added some muscle And was fit for the tussle - When he left it was truly our loss.   And our best ever player (in my book) Little chips he could easily cook, And his pin point passes Had me rubbing my glasses I mean, of course -  Ian Crook!
 23.
Cheers Crofty Right, Lappin next. Onwards and upwards!
I know Lappin seems to be favourite for next one out. Personally I don''t see it. Rarely called on last season but when he was he did a decent job - eg at Arsenal. Dependable, inexpensive cover.
