  1. How I read it McNally meant that we should have strengthened more than we actually did. We had a lot of deals fail for one reason or another and if we had the ''on paper'' team we were after there is no way we would have been relegated.

Darth Catbeard The Old wrote the following post at 11/05/2014 5:23 PM: "I''d be sad to see Ruddy, E.Bennett, Ollson, Sondgrass and maybe Redmond go, the rest are over paid Championship level players at best with extremely over inflated egos who aren''t fit to wear the shirt. Good riddance to any of them that go" Ah, the old myth that Elliott Bennett is some type of superstar wanted by PL teams surfaces yet again. He won''t be going anywhere, especially after we have paid him a whole season''s wages for sitting on his arse.
  3. The Great Mass Debater wrote the following post at 11/05/2014 4:25 PM: "With Loza in front of him for today at least, it would seem that the decision has been made on RvW''s future... " Has Adams been given the job then? Jeez....
  4. Does he drive a Bentley? I thought he had a Mustang and a Range Rover.
  5. Sunderland have had more luck in their last few games than we have had in the last three seasons. We are going down.
  6. Yorkshire Canary wrote the following post at 03/05/2014 10:13 AM: "Reason simple no target man. The ball comes back too quickly and apart form odd goals a decent target man relieves the pressure and brings the midfield into play" That''s just too simple, there is no single issue to base our failure on. We just were not good enough all over the pitch. There were the odd games when we shone, the odd moments of brilliance but for the majority of the time we were second best. It''s a failure on behalf of the whole Club - Board, Management and Players - with the exception of the fans.
  7. These inaccurate and misleading ''scouting reports'' should be entitled - ''crap I dreamed about last night''
  8. Kangaroo Court wrote the following post at 30/04/2014 11:19 AM: "Snodgrass got a good cross in for RVW at Old Trafford but he was absolutely nowhere. Sums up the season. He''s got a good number of goals for a winger and the only reason he hasn''t got more assists is he''s been passing to strikers who couldn''t score in a brothel." He got one whole good cross in? That''s a 100% improvement on his normal game then. He either tries to do too much and run into a brick wall or falls on his arse looking for a free kick. The same could be said of Redmond, a lot of trickery but no end product.
  9. CanaryOne wrote the following post at 27/04/2014 1:49 PM: "Playing the Scum again may not be as enjoyable as people are thinking , McCarthy is taking them forwards and with the squad we have a season of struggle lays in wait ." But on the bright side we have money. Get a decent manager, rebuild the squad and "hey presto!", back up in a season.
  10. It seemed to be common opinion that if we were not safe by the time we hit the last four games of the season we would more than likely go down. Under CH we would probably have gone out with a whimper and some embarrassing thumpings. If Adams can get three more good performances out of the team and we still go down I can''t see why he should not retain his managership. He talks the talk, seems to be tactically aware, makes reasonable substitutions, has got the players he thinks make an effort on his side and has frozen out the wasters.
  11. 19 goals and 10 assists in 43 games says it all.
  12. We did not get all the signings we were after at all; "The intention is that the club in the coming months will also capture an attacking midfielder and two wide players." If we had things may have well been quite different.
  13. TheRock wrote the following post at 23/04/2014 9:51 PM: "Tbh what strikers have we had since he left that are technically better than him? I''d still have him over Elmander, Kei, Kane, Morison or van flopwinkel." One would suggest that if RVW had someone alongside him like CM then his chances of hitting the back of the net would improve quite a bit.
  14. He has played 15 or so games for a team ripping that league up and has scored 3(?) with a couple of assists as well as ''destroying'' the opposition play-making. We don''t have that type of player at the Club with his potential and if we decide to let him go it would be a really bad decision.
  15. I would suggest that the GBP have got wise to some of their practices and are taking their business elsewhere.
  16. I get a funny feeling that some on here are quite excited about the prospect of getting relegated and actually winning some games for a change.
  17. Have I missed something here? He''s a nice guy no doubt but did he not spend the last season mainly on the bench?
  18. We have at least three ex-managers on the coaching staff, I would not be surprised to see Robson and Nevin in the dugout.
  19. Le Juge wrote the following post at 07/04/2014 8:21 AM: "Thanks for sharing the odds.... £55 better off this morning, huzzah!" Oh, what a coincidence you place a bet on the day he is sacked...
  20. Brilliant. Wes is wasted on the wing and Jonas will not play in central midfield. Perhaps the OP could try scouting our team instead? He might learn something.
