As much as we have an inherent dislike for that team down the road, Ipswich is not at the very edge of civilisation and there are much worse places, as there are dumps, even within the fine county of Norfolk. It is only 40 miles away FFS! Get a bus, train or get your mum to take you out for the day, and find out for your self, strange as it may seem you wont be spotted as a City fan, as long as you keep your hands in your mittens.
Actually mate, I suspect that most of us do realise that so kindly don''t be so patronising. The OP was only asking what it was like to be a City fan living in Ips*!t. Personally, I wouldn''t know as living in Suffolk is quite enough.
Ouch! a raw nerve eh? ...best keep the mittens and the wellies on then.
You can have the mittens back thanks all the same, they''re the wrong size for me. Wellies are pretty useful though, so I''ll keep those thanks. [:|]
My pleasure! ...I can always lengthen the string so you can step up onto the X2 bus on Saturdays
No really, keep them, judging by your obvious obsession with them I think you need them more than I. Plus I can actually drive, as can quite a few in this thread (and on this forum) I imagine.
Medals all round then!
Is that from your own personal photo album? Seriously, give it a rest.

 4.
Have we actually signed him then, its not like Archant to put it in the headlines until its been confirmed.
Isn''t it? The key word in the article is ''reportedly''.

 7.

What''s Ipswich like as a place to live in, in all honesty? Is it bad as we City supporters living in the Fine City and county of Norfolk like to believe? What is the pub scene like - are there some decent traditional boozers? Does the town have a groovy, swinging nightlife? Finally, are your Suffolk mates unbearably smug and annoyingly persistent with their ribbing when Ipswich win and Norwich lose? I expect most of the answers to these questions to be pretty negative, but be as honest and truthful as possible please.
I thought Ipswich was listed in a book about UK dumps about a year or so ago. Leiston may have been listed too.
I went there once but it was closed
You''re confusing Ips*!t with the area you and I both live in! [;)]
No mate, Beccles is a lovely place, Pity about the Martin Family though lol
Oh it is (particularly Worlingham), I''m not disputing that for a second - it just seems to close during the week sometimes! As for the Martin family, well...[:#]

 9.
Very disappointed with this decision, all we need now is Crofty to reject a new contract and we have no right winger at the club. Still we''ve only got 1 fit striker and one central defender who beloengs to us so does it matter. Can things get any worse.
What is the actual point in being disappointed in the decision though? If he wants to move back closer to home with his young family, then that''s fair enough, it would be totally wrong for anyone to stand in his way. I wish him well, he''s a very good crosser of the ball, but he doesn''t really have that much else to his game in all honesty. I can''t really understand why Coventry have bought him because he''s still to have his ankle operation. When he has that, he must be sidelined for some time, surely? Before I start verbally hurling bricks at the board, I''m going to wait until 5pm this Monday and see who we''ve bought and who we''ve sold. I think that''s being more than fair, don''t you?
 10. Cheers for that KIO, I was actually one of those who spoke to your dad about what was said there after getting in touch with him by pm.
 11.
This thread is nonsense. The man has had two games and we have not lost. If you watch the second goal last night you will see how embarrassing it was. Grounds, (a left back who Roeder brought in to play out of position) was 3-4 yards away from his man (Saganowski) and when the cross came in he made a pathetic little jump to head it, clearly realizing he was out of position and stranded. Looks as if Gunn is trying to bring in a CB in Purse to play there and he needs some patience from the supporters. Last night they could have had 4 in the first half and looked good. Two goals at home should bring 3 points. The weakness at left CB cost us the game last night and it''s an issue that is clearly being addressed..Before last nights game even. It''s annoying to give up 2 goals and especially that second one, but you cannot blame Gunn for having an inexperienced left back playing at CB. He inherited that situation and was stuck with it. Situation is dire, but the man needs support, not abuse.
Why is this thread nonsense Bigus? If you read what the OP has put, then I''m sure you''ll realise that he was actually having a go at other fans who have had a pop at Gunny. Generally agree with the rest of your post, although I would''ve preferred seeing Omozusi at CB last night - does anyone know if he''s been injured or something?
 12.

I dont think its the place to name peoples names. In fact that is pathetic.
If you check other threads, you will actually see that Wiz has changed his username to his real name - so you and WAY49 owe someone an apology.
Actually I won''t apologise, as I feel I have nowt to apologise for. Wiz has not long changed his name, and at time of posting he was still Wiz. [:)] Have a nice day.
Leeds Yellow obviously noticed it, which is why he/she more than likely started the thread. Both you and TCF did actually accuse the OP of being pathetic and bullying...

 14.
Wasn''t Foulger the other person at the announcement of Gunn getting the job? There was Munby, Gunn, Deehan and one other. Not sure if we should read anything in to that? How much money are we talking about?
Yes, definitely Foulger. You can''t exactly miss him or mistake him. I was wondering if it had something to do with him and his family...
 15.
I am trying not to be biased here, because the so called "nice" Mr Gunn really pxssed me of once and i see him for what he really is. I am saying no because our brave board have copped out again, cheapskates, however i will support the new management team for now. BTW till the end of season, yea right.
Nobody''s perfect Ricky, we all let our guard slip from time to time.
 16. Obviously, I have a HUGE amount of respect for Gunny, Chippy and Dixie, they are (for probably the most part) very fan-pleasing appointments (which you might argue that the board had to do really), Gunny and Chippy in particular are both City legends and Dixie was of course part of the 1985 Milk Cup (now the Carling Cup) winning side. I can''t help but feel rather concerned about Gunny and Chippy. Gunn, as we all of course know, has no managerial experience whatsoever (bar Saturday!), so it''s a very big (and cheap) risk but at least he does have great football experience. It''s the same with Chippy in a way, as he has no experience at all of managing and coaching in the English leagues. He''s done well in Japan and Australia, but can he emulate that over here? I think that Dixie is a shrewd appointment, given all his experience within the game. Certainly not one that I was expecting. I realise that it is only until the end of the season, but the board have taken one hell of a risk for two of these three appointments given the situation that we are in. My point is that, while I''m very happy for them and obviously want them to succeed, I do NOT want to see their status'' within the club tarnished. We are still in real danger of relegation and with that would come administration, which would the finish the club that we all love. In my opinion, the pressure is really on for them and, of course, the board of directionless. If we should go down, we could be looking at police on horse backs again, like 13 years ago. It could very well happen and that is not a route that I would like to see us go down ever again. I pray that we don''t.
 17.
You have never heard of Alex Ross, he is an up and coming manager who is not connected to any job at the present time, but I think he would be perfect for the Norwich job!
It wouldn''t be you would it? Go on, you can tell us...[;)]
 18.
What''s it to you? I''ll qualify it by saying that you are a moron for attacking a Norwich legend before his first game in charge - did you see his interview? He was like a breath of fresh air. I think perhaps, herb, you must be a binner as no true Norwich supporter would call Bryan Gunn ''a thick Scottish goalkeeper'' and put Gunny in inverted commas as if it had just been made up. That was always what he was called in his time at the club. Did you actually see him play? Do you know anything about him at all? If you did you would realise that he is not thick and is extremely popular with supporters. Just watch the reception he gets on Sat if you actually do sit in those seats. (why would anyone write where they sit for everyone to see?) Yes I think we all wonder who will be captain. What exactly did you mean by that?
Are you on a pathetic wind-up or something?? Herb didn''t call him a ''thick Scottish goalkeeper'', the OP did!!
 19.

You are a complete moron.
And who the f*** are you?
I think he''s referring to barclayseats48/49 rather than what you posted Herb and I''m inclined to agree with the pair of you!
 20.

Bryan Gunn will not be the next permanent manager of Norwich City.
*gasps* Surely not?? But 1st Wizard says he will, you know, because of his body language in the press conference. So now who am I supposed to believe? An intelligent person who also has sources close to the club, or some yokel who saw him on the tele?!
It''s a tough one isn''t it.[:|]
 21.

Gunn Omuzusi                     Doc                           Grounds                   Drury   Croft                          Patty                           Klingon                    Lappin                                      Lupoli                        Cureton (I now knows where that barn door is???)
gunn in goal....lol
Great idea, I think he''d probably fill it!
 22. I think Manny Fowler might have something to say about that, what do you think? [:^)]
 23. My sentiments exactly! Best of luck Gunny, it''s just for the one game so let''s hope the lads put on a performance for us all and get three points! [:)]
 24. Having checked him out on wikipedia, that is a very good shout Graham [Y] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Gannon
