1.

Shame on those of you that wish Lowestoft Town well, in case you all forgot we are Norwich City fans!!! F**k the suffolk scum, i really hope they get stuffed in the replay.
I''m from Lowestoft, am i scum?
Are there not more Norwich fans in Lowestoft than either Ipswich or Colchester fans? It''s only from what i''ve heard, but i''ve always thought of them as a club that has a better relationship with us, rather than the gremlins that inhabit the arse of England down the road.+ Craig Fleming works there (and they accommodated Huckerby when Roeder lost his sanity).
You''d be right in thinking that John. Loads of Norwich fans in Lowie and the surrounding areas and I believe the ex-Chairman is a City fan too, plus a load of connections between the two clubs. I''m surprised Adrian Coote hasn''t played for them yet!

I was born and bred in the area too, even lived in Norwich Road. City are my number one team, but I always look out for Lowie''s results (along with Kirkley & Pakefield) and news as well.

I can''t believe that some people think that we should have a fierce local rivalry just because they are in the same county as Ips*!t.

    GOOD LUCK TRAWLERBOYS!!!

  2.
On a slightly different note, has Pinebanks been closed yet? What has happened to it, I used to go their all the time and have since been informed that Aviva are selling the land?...
Yes it has, it''s been closed for some time now. As for the land, I''m not sure what''s happening there.

    6) ON CHARITY WORK: I feel sorry for the people in Africa. They are staring to death. They only get a little groin to eat. I wouldn''t like to eat groin.

  4. Sad news but not unexpected, we were told that there would be an announcement today by a City legend on his future and I think pretty much everyone guessed what that news would be after his operation the other day. It''s obvious that his mind is made up and I don''t blame him one little bit. He''s made the right decision, finish it now or else something like that could dog him later on in life. It''s just a shame that he wasn''t given a chance to retire with us.

He has left City fans with some wonderful memories in the five years that he spent with us but, although I don''t agree with the way in which Roeder made him leave (he deserved better treatment than that for sure), it had become evident to me and one or two others that his star quality was beginning to fade at that time, since about 2006 if I''m honest. But in those three years previously (and some more, but inconsistent, glimpses of it during his last two seasons or so with us), he gave some fantastic, breathtaking performances. Opposition defenders and fans were scared witless of his sheer pace, trickery and canny eye for goal and he was one of the major reasons why we won the old Nationwide Division One title (now the Coca-Cola Championship of course) in 2004. It''s sad to think about how far away we are from that now and it''s sad to think that how it will probably be quite a long time before we see a player of Hucks'' ability and quality on that left wing again.

But we need him back around Norwich. We need him back around Colney and Carrow Road. We need his influence in the dressing room, we need his influence at the Colney Training Centre. I''m quite sure that the youngsters in the Academy would really benefit from his help and experience. He needs to get those coaching badges and work back where he truly belongs, where his wife Lindsey and their boys still are, in Norwich.

Come on Darren. Come on Hucks, you know you want to.

  5.
The season hasn''t yet started and you are already running Gunn down. Those fans that I have spoken to are really pleased with the squad and how pre-season has gone and are really looking forward to the new season, which hasn''t been the case for the last few years. You are no doubt praying for city to have a poor start so that you can start running the club down again with pointless posts such as this one.
Bit harsh isn''t it? Where exactly is he running Gunny and the club down? The OP has merely said that, for him, the jury is out which it still is for many fans. I don''t call that ''running Gunn down''.

I too am pleased at how this close season has gone, very pleased in fact, but it''s not just down to Gunn is it? There''s Crook, Butters, the players, David McNally etc.

He''s also proved to be a very reliable poster on numerous occasions. I think you should read what he''s put again, read what you''ve put again and then apologise.

  6. Very saddened to hear this news this morning. A great club and international manager, a great ambassador for the game and a great man too. This is a great loss not just to his family and closest friends, but to all those lives he had touched throughout the world of football, at Fulham, at Ipswich, for England, for Barcelona, for PSV Eindhoven, for Sporting Lisbon, for Newcastle (his native land of course) - have I missed anyone out?

This loss is up there with the losses of Sir Matt Busby, Bill Shankly and Brian Clough. A true battler, a true fighter and a true gentleman who will be sorely missed.

    RIP Sir Bobby.

  7.
Fantastic news, really is.

I was predicting below play-offs early doors, 2 weeks ago i was predicting 6th/7th and now i reckon it will be 2nd/3rd place.

I think Whaley and McVeigh on right is good enough, Hoolahan and Lappin on left is good enough and Otsemabor and Spillane at right back is good enough.

A few of these players (eg. Hoolhan, Spillane, Lappin and McVeigh) can also play in other positions.

I think we now have 2 in every position with youngsters also covering if needs be in most positions too to make that almost 3.
Personally I''d prefer WLY to be used as competition for Hoolahan, playing in the hole behind a front two. I think he''s still got the intelligence and the quick feet to play there.

  8. We''ve been waiting for confirmation of this for what seems like ages! More thanks to CUSDP and his mate. We now have four out-and-out centre backs competing for two spots, plus the youngsters in Spillane (who looks like he''ll be used more at right-back, like he was at Luton last season), Dario Dumic and David Stephens. I''m not sure we need another right-back to be honest, Semmy should be a lot more capable in this league than what he has been in the Championship, Spillane as I''ve already said should provide the competition in that area. I wouldn''t mind seeing another natural right-winger come in as competition for Whaley. Apparently Whaley is a confidence player, so it would be good if someone could slip right into his place when the chips are down.

Goran Maric is one I''m certainly looking forward to seeing eventually, although he obviously has very stiff competition indeed from Grant Holt (or Grolt as Forest fans seem to call him). Still, Gunn might decide to go with two big ''uns up front which wouldn''t be good news for the likes of Martin, Cureton and Daley if he did as that would push them further down the pecking order behind Cody McDonald (when Cody''s 100% fit again).

On paper, the squad is shaping up rather nicely for the season ahead, but games aren''t played on paper.

As more of an aside, having just read it in more depth on the offy site, I''ll be interested to know why Maric is just here on a one-year-deal? Berthel-Askou is on a two-year-deal and both are Bosman frees so they won''t have been that expensive apart from wages and one or two other fees.

Still great news though and I''m looking forward to seeing them both in action very soon!

So it''s thank you CUSDP and his mate, thank you Bryan Gunn, thank you David McNally and thank you John Deehan!

  9. I''m very happy about this and about how the squad is taking shape. A big physical presence up front, a real grafter and he knows where the net is. I know he had a bit of a rough time at Forest, but I think he had injury problems there and Calderwood went and stuck him out on the wing.

Ten summer signings so far, nine of them permanent, four of them in one day - bloody good work Gunny and McNally.

The offer still stands for Maric as well...

  10.
Certainly hope so.I favour Spillane, but i don''t want us playing him out of his position at right back.As for Otsemobor, i now consider him no more than a bench warmer for our side. I use to rate him, but when you see him for what he is as a football player he''s utterly useless. Pace would be his redeming feature, but seeing as he has a tendency to play a statue when he steps past the half way line i find him quite pointless.I''d happily welcome Ifill into the side.
I posted the below earlier this month:

This from a Col U season ticket holder I know:

    Take him!!!!

Seriously, we need him off our wage bill. He was highly-rated when he came to us in Jan 08, a Spurs trainee who had played in a few Prem games for them, and we outbidded Southampton for him at the time. But he just cannot defend, maybe he''d be better utilised as a right-winger rather than a right-back, he is a liability when anyone runs at him. He has been nowhere near the first team since Williams left. I don''t think he even played a single minute for us since November, and he hasn''t been injured.

Oh and keep him away from the pie outlets...

Sounds a bit familiar, I think we''d best stay away from him!

I personally think the Press Conference is for that takeover...

...delayed 21 days, but it is the Norwich way [;)]
If it was a press conference for a rich megamoney takeover i would absolutely love it.
If that were the case I''d dance up and down the road starkers [:D]
Fingers crossed then.

    Whereabouts in Dereham did you say you lived ? . . . . . . . . . .
lol Scarning actually
Wahoo, I''m in Wendling, so I could have been there in a flash (pun intended)

Pity that the news was we''ve signed Stephen Hughes, I''d just pumped my tyres up & got my bicycle clips on in anticipation.

I also had a camera ready to pass some pictures on to Lappinitup [:)]
LMAO.......hubby might have something to say about that, in fact I don''t think id'' make it past the front door [:D]
Let me guess, your ex-PC hubby would grab you from behind and cuff you.

Naked as well - oh the imagery! The question is, would there be a truncheon involved??

  12.
There are more City fans in Lowestoft than scum, i''ll be down there but it is the same boring show every year
Boring? Do you realise how much skill is involved in the displays? It''s great entertainment for just £2 in the bucket, think how much you have to pay for entry to Thorpe Park or the RNS.

  13.
off topic i know but the red arrows are due in at norwich airport if anyone lives that way and wants to see them. it is there stop for the lowestoft airshow (which i hate as you see SO many ipsh*t shirts)
You also see plenty of Norwich shirts, as we''re well supported in that town, and mine will be one of them.

Always a great event, provided the weather''s good!

We have lived more life than any of you mugs.

Ever since my dad brought me a chip shop in lowestoftt, i know the streets.
Oh go on then, I''ll humour you as well, which chip shop has your daddy bought you in Lowestoft?

I know the area quite well as I lived there for over twenty years and I still go back there a lot.

I look forward to your reply! [:)]

  16.

Very pleased for the lad and to play above his age group is a great achievement for him. This next season should certainly be a big one for him, especially with us being back in the reserves league. We keep churning out these goalkeepers don''t we, I think we may have another future England number one on our hands again here.

I think he might even get a few first-team starts next season. I''m hoping that we can get this Birmingham ''keeper, Colin Doyle, just on a season-long loan as I wouldn''t want us to fork out for permanent goalie on a three-year contract or something, who turns out to be average or worse, which might in turn either harm Rudd''s development or see him being sold. I think Gunny has this in mind as well, which is good.
Do you honestly think if Rudd is that good he wont be sold?

    FOOTBALL MUST COME FIRST
I''m not saying or thinking that he will be sold. It''s inevitable that he''s going to go at some point, it''s just that I hope it''s not for a few years yet!
