Yes I do say absolutely brilliant for them last year, certainly thought he’d turn Sheffield down as it’s not his game at all.......bad move for him.
Yeah, he's scored a few goals in the Championship. Not convinced about him in the Prem but he's got time on his side and he might need the right club.

4 hours ago, Indy said:A bit unfair as he’s an absolutely brilliant player but not Sheffield type, really strange signing by the 🔔 end Wilder.
If we go up and when they go down he’d be a player I’d be happy to get here.
Is he "absolutely brilliant"?
I get there's a difference in the quality to what Liverpool require to us or Sheff Utd, however, I do wonder if Liverpool thought his ceiling might not go much higher and took good money for him.

There's more with Buendia. More natural talent, more in the locker.
And he puts it in for the team.
As good as it gets in a Norwich City shirt.

Hmm. He isn't always the strongest tackler.
Good player though.

Why? Cantwell is better.

I would prefer to see a pacy winger such as Martin/Argos/Placheta on the pitch to offer something different alongside Buendia and one of either Dowell or Cantwell - or even a winger on either side of Buendia. Once Quintilla is back in, that will help, but really having two pacy players on both wings gives the opposition an awful lot to deal with.
Martin is still quite raw imo and very early in his senior career, but that is not to say he won't have a big part to play if he gets his teeth into it, but the Reading match perhaps shows he needs to be used carefully, at least for a while. Maybe better for him to come on later in a match to inject a bit of pace.
Does Martin have pace?

Concur.

Exactly that.

He slowed the play down too much at times and he also ran out of steam in the second half - which he is prone to doing.

Elton John is a well known Watford fan.

Yes it was. 'Keeper had time to light a cigar.

Yup. Already done more than Dowell and Cantwell combined.

Todd was class. Emi was different class.

5 hours ago, Indy_Bones said:Yes, we clearly paid the most we ever had for a player that the manager didn't fancy, then threw another 5 mil at Hooper who clearly wasn't intended to play just off from RVW (and Hughton probably didn't fancy either).
So 13+ million on two strikers that seemingly our manager didn't fancy either of, sounds like great business and a sensible approach to transfers doesn't it...
Don't bet against it.

40 minutes ago, Indy_Bones said:He'd scouted RVW when he was still at Newcastle, and everybody with half a brain in football knew exactly what type of player he was, so even if he'd not agreed or wanted Hooper (which I don't believe was the case), there's still ZERO excuse for his complete misuse of RVW, so regardless of whether or not RVW may have turned out far better or not, he wasn't given the chance with such dire supply and being asked to play a role he'd NEVER be able to in any meaningful way.
I still don't understand WHY Hughton did what he did, particularly in that 2nd season, but the fact is that he didn't use half our players correctly (remember that Holt and other strikers had their goal tallies HALVED under Hughton), he set out for 0-0 results and brought on defensive subs when losing, and provided us with some of the worst football I've ever seen as a City fan, and even if we can disagree over RVW, I don't think there's any argument about the rest...
I would suggest he was never totally sold on RVW.
It's not unheard of in football for clubs to sign players the managers don't really fancy.

11 hours ago, king canary said:Watching his team in that season suggests otherwise.
Hooper and RVW were poacher types stuck in a team that needed a striker who could hold the ball up and play with back to goal.
But why would Hughton, a cautious type, chuck money at strikers who don't fit what he wants?
I think it's possible he may have wanted one of them. I doubt he really wanted both. -
14 hours ago, Indy_Bones said:who blew the lot on players he refused to utilise correctly and who then played for 0-0 and brought defensive subs on when we were losing...
Hughton was and still is an incredibly defence minded and risk-averse manager.
However, he is also clearly a thoughtful, intelligent and sensible chap. So I don't think it really stacks that he would blow money on players in the first place and then "refuse" to utilise them correctly.

True goalscorer.

Which two games?
Michael Keane was clearly their MOTM last night.

But...
1. Krul
2. Aarons
3. Gibson (what a difference he made to the defence)
4. Skipp
5. Hanley
Not including Pukki in a top 5?
Frankly, anyone who hasn't got Pukki in their top 3 needs to try again.

Best Ever XI, revisited

On this sorta subject I would say we are lucky to have three outstanding players here at the same time -
Outstanding goalkeeper - Krul
Outstanding goalscorer - Pukki
Outstanding footballer - Buendia
In their positions (and in general for Buendia) you don't see many better players in a Norwich shirt.
