1.
So what is the answer?  I think Grant is doing a not so bad job myself, OK tactically he needs sorting out, but he has had his hands tied from day one.  His transfer record is 10 times better than Worthingtons ever was if only in getting Lappin in on the cheap, but Etuhu, Safri and Earnshaw WANTED to move on so what could he do?  Getting in another manager would only give another excuse to the powers that be, and a big name wouldnt come here as they wouldnt want to work under the sort of constraints that others have had (apart from spend-more-than-every-other-city-manager-put-together-and-still-have-the-weakest-squad-ever-Worthington).
How is Grants transfer record 10 times better than Worthingtons? It''s a ridiculous comparison.
 2.
Just a question for my own interest, those who last week wanted Grant out, has any changed their mind on the back of the Man City performance.
I''ve not changed my mind. I can''t see him taking us anywhere. If he does turn it around then I''ll be delighted to be wrong. Whatever people want to say about the board letting us down and how we can''t blame Grant etc... for me he''s made too many poor decisions when it comes to the football we play.
 3.
Well I asked for Spillane in centre midfield ... see start of this message .... because he''s good there ... and he proved it tonight .... what a shame we lost in the end .... but it''s up to the goalscorers ... Brown .. Cureton ... and Croft .. maybe Russell to make the difference ... we could have been in the hat for the next round if they had delivered ...   OTBC
Didn''t you also say Lappin isn''t even worth a place on the bench? 1 out of 2 ain''t bad I guess.
 4.

To everybody who said we wouldn''t miss these 3 players because we had strenghtened the squad can you tell me where, in fact i could have headed this up ''Thorne, Hughes and Louis-Jean'' and made the same arguement!!!! I have been happy to let Grant build his own team and have tried not to judge, sorry Granty this IS your team and it doesn''t look any better than what u took over a year ago. U r out of your depth, please go now.
Sorry, correct me if I''m wrong here, but did we not finish in 16th place last season with those three same players?? Brellier I''m not too sure about, but Cureton and Russell for definite do actually want to play for the team and NOT for themselves. Yes it''s Granty''s team, yes the team performances have been poor, but it is going to take a bit of time you know - and it''s a marathon, not a sprint...
So what if Cureton and Russell want to play for the team? I want to play for Norwich, doesn''t mean I should. But yeah...it is always nice to have players who put in a shift for the team...if they have the quality to go with it. But they do have the quality, they''ve shown that more than once and they will do so again. I''d never in a million years take Cureton over Earnshaw, it''s a step back. Not that we had a choice in selling Earnie. Curetons performances have been lazy, hardly full of passion. Oh right, so it has absolutely nothing to do at all with the lack of supply coming from midfield and the wings then, no?? Etuhu has moved on to play in the Premiership after being bought by manager who was one of the Premierships best ever midfielders. Rusty has moved from one Championship side to another and Brellier has come from the SPL to play in the Championship, not the Premiership. I couldn''t care less about Etuhu playing in the Premiership. The fact is, he was far too inconsistent, lazy and disinterested with us. I don''t want players like that in my team, do you? Darel Russell puts his heart and soul in every game (bar Wolves) and comes up with the goods in the role that he plays. I can''t really ask for that much more from him. Brellier has been OK overall, but not as effective, so will need more games. It''ll be interesting to see if he gets those games when Smith and Fozzy are both fit again. As for Safri...there was never really a problem with him until Peter Grant came along and then all of a sudden he''s some kind of disgrace. As for Safri...yes there WAS a problem with him before Grant - as I hear that Worthless had problems with him as well - probably something to do with nearly always coming back from African Nations Cup duty either injured or flippin'' tired! How many games do you think he''ll take part in for Burley this season 20? 30 at most, with Ramadan as well? And what kind of player rings his manager up before a training session saying something like "Sorry, can''t make it today boss, got to pick up my agent"? And what kind of player turns up late for a team photo (5 mins or 5 hours, it doesn''t matter), when they are quite clearly told by their manager what time to be there for? Not a committed or interested one, methinks.

I''ll agree that we haven''t provided enough options in attack but there''s no doubt that Cureton has been lazy for Norwich since his return. People slated Earnie for not being a team player but the lad worked harder to put himself in the right places than Cureton has. If you think otherwise I think you''re probably not seeing things the way they are. I do like Darel Russell don''t get me wrong on that but the thing with him is that he does lack a bit of consistent quality. Good little player and lots of energy but he just lacks that little bit of cutting edge, hence why he''s moved from Norwich to Stoke and back to Norwich. Sideways, not up. As for Dickson... yeah he failed to turn up far too often. But he''s a good player and that''s why he''s moved upwards. Like Earnshaw he knew Norwich aren''t going anywhere at the moment. And yes we all know Safri hardly ever stays fit and hardly ever plays a game which is why he probably played in about 40 games for us last season. Blah blah blah. As for the team photo, have you ever considered the possibility that Safri already knew he was sold so Peter Grant took the opportunity to slate him. I remember a time when Safri was a crowd favourite and maybe the manager wanted to ensure he avoided criticism for selling the player by painting a bad picture of him. Not saying that''s the case but I think it''d be naive just to assume Safri was in the wrong. Oh and for the record...I don''t think Safri had his best season last time round but I still think he''d be a decent player for Norwich.

 6. Grant has gotta go. I try not to be a doom merchant and I like to give people a chance but this guy has gotta go. Useless.
 7.

Poor team selection once again from the manager. Would there be any harm in picking Croft to give us a better shape and more natural width?
I thought Croft and Semmy linked up well earlier in the season?  Has Croft been injured or something?
I''m really quite worried that Croft is going to be forced out. He''s a young lad with a bit of potential to be a decent player for Norwich and he''s not started the last 4 games. And yeah there was good link up with him and Semmy but Peter Grant ignored that in favour of playing his signing Chadwick for 3 games and today opted to go for Rusty who is also his signing.
 8. Poor team selection once again from the manager. Would there be any harm in picking Croft to give us a better shape and more natural width?
 9. Marshall Semmy Doc Shacks Drury Croft Brellier Lappin Hucks Cureton Strihavka   Don''t like dropping Rusty but he''s been a bit short on quality. And although Brown does work very hard for the team he hasn''t got a goal. Chadwick dropped after poor showings so far this season.
 10.
Mine would be: Marshall Otsemobor Spillane Shackell Drury Croft Russell Rossi J Lappin Strihavka Huckerby If Dublin wasn''t out suspended I have him start up front with Hucks. I think we have much more shape when Hucks isn''t on the left and he can then wander freely wherever playing up front!
Spillane and Rossi Jarvis in the spine of the team? That''s an easy day out for Wolves.
 11. I''d be a bit disappointed if he signed for Southampton without us making an effort to get him, especially seeing as Grant must know him quite well.
 12.
surely its better to lose trying to win, than to lose trying to draw isn''t it.Please give me an honest opinion on this remark
Definitely.
 13. I think we can all see how Grant wants to play it, against most sides away from home he wants to play for a  point and at home he wants to grind out a win. He''s claimed he wants to win every game, that''s rubbish. He doesn''t set out his team to win, he sets out his team to gather enough points to stay in this league and keep him in the job.  But at the moment Norwich aren''t cut out for it, Norwich are better to chuck everything they''ve got at people because they''re just are not good enough to contain teams. Plus...trying to contain teams is boring.
 14.
I know I am probabaly going to get slaughtered for saying this but you all need to pull your head out of your a*$ses and realise that Jamie Cureton is not all that.. Yes he scored two goals in one game and well done to him for it. But since then he has done nothing.. Yes Brown has not scored but he has contributed a hell of a lot more! Don''t get me wrong, Im disappointed with the result but if we had come away with a 0 v 0 drwa from a relegated team then I would have been happy! And to do this we needed to play a more solid hard working team i.e. the reason for Brown and not Cureton (who doesnt do defending)! I just wish you would all stop panicing and making stupid comments about Cureton that do not even make much sense.. Yes he played at Ipswich with green hair once, yes he has scored twice.. woop woop.. Grow up and stop putting him on such a high pedestal
Good post in my opinion. Although I do think Cureton is a good signing for Norwich (he will get a fair few goals) he has been very very lazy and I don''t think he helps Chris Brown at all.
 15.
Jesus, talk about a knee-jerk reaction. It sounded rubbish tonight but really, I don''t think sacking the manager is the answer in the middle of September.
He''s been in charge almost a year, we''re no better now than we were then. He doesn''t know his best team and his team selections are often poor. We''re not going anywhere this season.
 16.
There are a few reasons to be cheerful.  We held the most expensive, and arguably most dangerous attacking threat in the division for 85 minutes to 0-0.  On another night, we might have squeezed a point here.  If we compete as well as we did tonight for 85 minutes at Wolves, we might well come away with something.  We probably won''t see this tactic very often this season, probably away to the better teams.  That said, with Dublin out for 2-3 matches, we need to find cover at centre-back.  Maybe Spillane will get a chance ?  Who knows... Who''d be a football fan eh ?
You can''t take any kind of positive for competing for 85mins, it''s 90mins or nothing.
 17. Definitely, no doubt about it. Doherty and Shackell are both ordinary (at best) and Dion Dublin has so much more quality and presence.
 18.
Still dont understand why Chadwick is playing instead of Croft?? Can anyone else?
As I said the other day, Chadwick is a Grant signing and Croft isn''t.
 19. Chadwick in ahead of Croft again it would seem. Poor.
 20.
Good on him I say.   I think that a confident Ryan Jarvis is better than the current Chris Brown
I don''t think so really.
 21. Cureton had another rubbish game, I wonder when (if) he''ll get any stick.
 22.
My thoughts Didn’t understand why Chadwick started the game ahead of Croft
Croft is a Worthington signing, Chadwick is a Grant signing. Grant likes to prove he''s right.
 23.

Got to be pleased with the win but hardly a great game of football. Crystal Palace aren''t going anywhere this season, that is for sure.
What about the two balls put through for Otsemobor? Quality creating goal scoring opportunities
That was good football, just a shame he didn''t contribute much else. And to be honest, aside from a goal against the scum I really don''t think Chadwick has done much at all for City.
 24.
wat r u on about, lappin and rusell were quality today ... best 2 players on the pitch! no1 notices how well lappin holds the play 2getha and every1 gives him stick, he works hard 4 the team and plays brilliantly! man of the match rusell was also superb today, never stopped running, chased every ball, won every tackle (even if the ref gave fair challenges as free kicks everytime) with any other ref he wud have put us back in a attacking position and in possesion. along with dublin and huckerby best players out their!
The point I was trying to make...was that although Lappin and Russell did well enough today I can''t see that being a combination that''ll dominate games. I think Simon Lappin is a good footballer, very sensible player, I''ve said that from the start. And Rusty always grafts. But that isn''t a combination that will work in the long term.
 25. Got to be pleased with the win but hardly a great game of football. Crystal Palace aren''t going anywhere this season, that is for sure. Disappointed by Grants decision to start with Chadwick and leave Croft on the bench. It was a mistake against Cardiff and it was a mistake again today. Crofty plays his position better and there''s more zip to his game. Not saying Chadwick isn''t a good player but he doesn''t help the shape of the team as he drifts inside way too much. Not too sure about central midfield either, Lappin and Russell got us through today but are they really a central midfield partnership you''d want to rely on? Obviously we have got a couple of injuries at the moment but Brellier put in a good shift against Cardiff before he was wrongly substituted. Well done to Dave for scoring and then keeping a cool head towards the end to help see the game out.
