1. A frined of mine who works at archant has just told me the appointment has not been greeted with many cheers there. I don''t suppose for a moment that the writers there will be at all comfortable with any of this.
 2.
The first rule of journalism, if you believe what you wrote, is not to start bleedin'' apologising to anyone for it afterwards but to defend it if necessary. Otherwise don''t write it.
You really are a pillock, aren''t you. I couldn''t see Aiken "bleedin'' apologising" for anything. He was entering into a debate on this board about his column. Which if you ask me seems a pretty reasonable thing to do. What has happened to make you so insecure about yourself that you feel the need to have to spout non-stop criticism of other people even though the common held view is that your own talent is no more than medicore?
 3.

Wizard - Go away. You''re like a stuck record.
Why Ms Kathy? because I dare to have a low opinion of your bottom licking, minority and self important group![:|]
I accept that not everything is everyone''s cup of tea, but why are you being so vindictive? NCISA do a good job in so many ways , so if you''ve got nothing positive to say, don''t say anything at all. I can also say in my experience that when you raise issues with NCISA, they take them on board.
 4.

So this isn''t a flowery version of "No I didn''t" ? Let me categorically state here and now that I have no interest in signing Elliott Ward and there is no possibility of David Bell leaving here in a swap deal.
If I''d been publicly accused of something I hadn''t done I''d want to leave people in no doubt that it wasn''t true.  I''d probably also have a word with my lawyer. As already posted, if there is no possibility of Bell leaving in a swap deal, that could be because Coventry turned it down. If he cannot get Ward for free he has no interest in signing him because we can''t afford him, I suggest.
This story was put round to the nationals by a West Midlands agency - whether they originated the story I have no idea.  We were asked to check it out at the Norwich end and were told it was completely untrue: that Bell was going nowhere and you weren''t interested in signing Elliott Ward.  On that basis it didn''t appear to be much of a starter. This was before the EDP story appeared.
Some of the things that you spout with such authority cover up the fact that you are nothing more than a fairly average stringer , even though you seem to like to give the impression of being an integral player within the media scene. The only other hack you seem to have any time for on these boards is Mick Dennis, who works at the same newspaper group as you, which says it all really. You seem to think that by spouting all kinds of nonsense about all things to do with newspapers, you somehow come across as a well-connected expert within the media. Which makes it even more surprising that you haven''t risen above the heights of, um, a Daily Star freelancer! I know some of the people at Archant (not very well, admittedly) and I don''t think you''d get a job there if you wanted one. Wasting time slagging off other journalists as you do on these boards seems to me to be a sign of insecurity.
 5.
roeder is certainly an impressive individual.  but, he said the meeting was off the record - so i''ll respect that and not repeat what he said. he''s a believeable character from humble origins, i would imagine, who has been brought up to know the value of things and other people.  overall, i liked what he had to say.  he has a presence, and is 100% determined.  he says he loves this job, but then so did the previous 2.  if he''s given the funds, i''ll think he''ll do well for us.  and btw - imo he will keep us up - the sheer force  of his personality will ensure those around him are equally inspired.
LGT - the meeting last night was NOT off the record. Just because someone says that it is doesn''t make it the case. It was an open meeting advertised in the press for everyone to attend. As such, anything that was said at the meeting can be repeated by the media, by you to your mates in the pub or on these message boards. Just think what would happen if at every meeting that was held anywhere, the people talking could just say "This is off the record" and then spout all kinds of nonsense. What if Neil Doncaster said it at an AGM? If Roeder doesn''t want the 24,000 Carrow Road regulars to know what he has to say, that''s fine, but he shouldn''t then tell the 150 who turned up last night.
 6.
Sorry Kathy but you are way out of line on this one. Perhaps if you stopped to think for one minute you may realise that some of us may well be at work, have family committments or other personal resons for not attending. Against that background what right do you have to make such crass comments such as " quite frankly its a job to take you seriously" Talk about calling the kettle black. I think you owe us an apology and pretty damm quick.
Sorry, but you''re wrong on this one Sweeney. It''s quite clear that Kathy was talking about those people who make a lot of noise on these message boards but then don''t say a word when they get the chance to address the manager in person. She was not talking about those people (such as you?) who couldn''t go last night because of other commitments.
 7.
please adhere to the strick etiquete of this board and stop clogging it up with ridiculous and pointless post such as this. gggaaawd
Oh do lighten up and get a life.
 8.
Could Nugent be the player Roeder is keen on?
I don''t know.
 9.
Would that be both guys and girls? Same question to Cottage.
Not sure, to be honest. It''s quite male-dominated and I''m not sure a couple of girls would be quite so welcome, if you get my drift.
 10. I must say that I''ve never had any problems at the Cottage on Silver Road.
 11.
You are all obviously far too young to remember ''Hot Cross Bone Day'' at easter one season in the seventies when David Cross and Jim Bone scored in a City victory. Cant remember off hand who we beat but thought it was a pretty good headline.
You''re right, I don''t remember that. You''re quite old, then, are you?
 12.

"Earnshaw dreaming of Premiership return" "I''ve got to be true to myself - I want to play in the Premiership," he said. "I think it''s the perfect time for me at my age and I''m no different to anyone else - I want to play against the best." I have to say I can understand where some people are coming from. Essentially this is the only piece that is used to draw the entire article from <missing comma> which makes it a little sketchy! The problem with it is that it is entirely open to interpritation, and can send out a very mixed message as a result. If you compare it to <"to" should be "with"> a story from a couple of weeks ago when Earnshaw stated that he expected interest but would not let it bother him unless the club became interested in a deal.<you start the sentence with an "If", so it should also have a clause starting with a "then"> Otherwise this is a very different story. Essentially this other paper has asked him if he would rather be playing in the premiership and this is a standard reply which has had a slant put on it. In all fairness it is nothing unusual of newspapers these days so personaly I don''t find it a problem. What I do find amazingly attrocious is the spelling and grammer in the paper. It wouldnt take much to proof read things every once in a while,<should be a full-stop, not a comma> I am a teaching assistant and some of the kids I work with can do far better!
You are taking the mickey here, surely, Chicken? Or perhaps some of the kids you teach should have a word with you about YOUR speling and gramer.
Yep, nothing like pulling apart the spelling of a dyslexic to make you feel better about yourself.  No comment about the actual subject in question though.
The "subject in question" that I was responding to was criticism of Archant''s spelling and grammar. That criticism came from someone who evidently can''t spell themselves. Greenhouses and throwing stones springs to mind. And if the writer was a dyslexic, how come he or she noticed spelling problems elsewhere? Finally, for what it''s worth, I don''t feel the slightest bit better about myself. I was just pointing out some hypocrisy. Lighten up.

 14.
I see Michael Ballack has had some dealings with the law this week too. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/6653803.stm
I gather the Dion D works well both up front and at the back.
 15. The Cottage is a good pub. A friend of mine who is gay said he feels as comfortable there as anywhere in the city.
