1.
I like everyone else on here am extremely disappointed with the results so far this season, but I would just like to point something out.. This is a big IF; but IF we start playing as well as we possibly could do then I am sure we will not be in this position after the next 4 games.. IF we play like we can do then i can see at least these results: Sheffield Wednesday (home) - Win Scunthorpe (home) - Win QPR (away) - Draw Bristol City (home) - Win My point is, that after these results we would be on 17 points from 11 games which would see us back around 12th place. And now I know 12th isnt great but we will then Have Jimmy Smith and Fotheringham back as well Hucks firing on all cylinders! My point is we should all continue to get behind this team, we are in a difficult position at the moment and the only thing that will get us out of it, is everyone sticking together and fighting as one.. And if this does happen then the above results are more than possible.. And then who knows where we can go! So, this Saturday agains Sheffield Wedsnesday, Sing loud and clear for Norwich City and Johnny Gavin! On the ball City!
Nurse, Nurse - he''s out of bed again!
 2. ...and right on cue he arrives and proves the point "Anyhow heres hoping for a 4-0 victory for Wolves today" - welcome back Smudger!
 3. I don''t always agree with what you and most of the others to whom you refer post Ricky but I for one generally find it interesting and thought provoking. Just because it is critical of the club, the board etc I have never assumed it meant you were not a supporter.  Most posters on here come across as clearly having a love for the club and wanting to see improvement, it''s just our respective views on how to achieve this that may vary - but if we all saw everything the same the world would be very dull.  Such posters don''t indicate they want to see the club fail, dont gloat when we lose because it proves they were right etc and therein is the difference between the people you are describing in your post and the likes of Smudger.  I agree our failure to strengthen our defence is a scandal, and that some of Peter''s signings have yet to fire (although I think a fit Fotheringham has plenty to offer and Brellier has real potential once settled) but I never had expectations we would do anything more than flirt with the playoffs (probably unsuccessfully) this year.  On the basis of such an expectation what I have seen to date this season is not that much of a surprise and hence I am not as disappointed as some others at the impact of a late away defeat at the hands of a team who were in the Premiership last season - if we had hung on for a nil-nil many of those now screaming for Grant''s head would have been perfectly happy. Lets hope for a better result on Saturday against the Wolves!
 4. Assuming the video evidence clears Dion, will action then be taken against Mills for faking injury?  I suspect I know the answer to my own question.
 5.
he knew we meant business and peter grant really fancied 3 pts, what hope is there
D''oh
 6. The Wizard now....

Well the title thread says it all, I really cant stand this dire rubbish to continue. Just bugger off Grant
Sums it up for me nicely.
...and on 2nd September from the same poster - "I''m convinced something must have rubbed off on Grant at West Ham, he isn''t crap as some would like to say...worries have crept in for me, but we must give Peter a season at least with his own team surely." So why the complete u-turn in the space of two and a half weeks Wiz - I thought you were a changed and newly positive character?  Maybe its not Grant who has no clue.
 7.
It should be titled: "Matt (pause) Me! Me! Smith, Leeds, Leeds and more Leeds, with a frustrating couple of minutes of other teams scoring a few goals in the Championship and some lower leagues cloggers running about a bit.......On ITV".
I am glad someone else has noticed the apparent Leeds obsession on this programme - I was thinking it was just me! Main problem with this show however is it tries to fit too much into an hour (which in reality is more like 45-50 minutes when you take out the adverts).  A possible solution however would be for Matt to talk less......
 8. Despite being a fan of Brown, I think the time has come to make the switch and give big Dave his chance.  I am a little concerned about his fitness and ability to last 90 minutes at this level (see his own comments on how he flet at the end of the game on Saturday) but I think he deserves a start tonight after his efforts at the weekend.
 9.
yeah yeah whatever...  look at leeds, look at leeds... we don''t want to do a leeds..  whatever the hell that is.... We don''t want to do a Ipswich... or a Derby...  no wait, yes we do ...
Is this the same Ipswich that are some £30M+ in debt, don''t own their own ground etc?  We might not be in a great place right now, but would you really want to take them as a role model?
 10. To those who say lighten up this is harmless fun - maybe you are right.  But, (and at the risk of being accused of being a closet binner sympathiser) 1. It just seems a little childish as a post topic 2. It hardly adds anything to the overall standard of footballing debate on here 3. (Most important) If we became aware of a similar thread in reverse on an Ipswich site would we not be using it is evidence of how moronic they all are!?
 11.
And only 35 minutes long - I''d ask for my money back...
...about 34 minutes 50 seconds longer than my ears could stand
 12. According to the official site he is now on trial with us for a few days.
 13. Thought he looked pretty useful throughout the game (not for the firs time this season).  If Emile Heskey can get an England recall why not Greeno?
 14.

No - for pity''s sake lets keep a sense of proportion.  Did anyone really think we were going to run away with the league this year?  We are in a rebuilding phase unfortunately at the moment and it will take time.  We will play worse than we did yesterday this season and win games (indeed Southampton springs to mind).  Lets see what things look like after ten games (by which time maybe our current injury jinx may have resolved itself).
Pboro-Canary, Yep i thought we would run away with the league , still think we will do so , the league is filled with rubbish .You tell me who is going to win it with what you have seen so far ?arrdee.
OK, did anyone except Arrdee think we would run away with it?  And Arrdee, for me Watford and WBA look to have the squads capable of doing the business in what I agree is a generally poor quality league.
 15.
Mods - why, why, why let this post through?  What is the point?
hi, please can everyone agree that the the whole "Ipswich town football club" is an absolute fantasy and the whole club are losers!! Also some football team ipswich are when they a town and we are a city!!!!!!!!   overall ipswich are <SCUM>

Come on mods, are you going to answer the question?
 16. How about the fantastically silly-named López Ufarte who played for Spain in the 1982 World Cup?  Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roberto_L%C3%B3pez_Ufarte
 17.
Just a thought, anyone know a good piece of business in finacila and footballing terms done by Donkeycaster?
Financially, how about Dean Ashton, signed for £3M sold for £7.25M?  Or in football terms Dickson Etuhu £400k in, getting rid of a woefully inconsistent player for £1.5M?  Still lets not let facts get in the way of a personal dig.
 19. Interesting to look on the BBC site and see a) how little business is reported as of 6PM; and b) of that, how little movement there is into Championship sides.  Charlton have picked up the very useful Sam Sodje (would have loved us to get him) plus the over rated Danny Mills, and QPR have spent £900K on Mikele Leigertwood (used to look pretty useful for Palace a while ago); Saints picked up Jason Euell for free (who has never looked prolific anywhere) and Hull have stumped up £1M for Caleb Folan (which seems a bit of a gamble).  Otherwise just a couple of non-descript looking loan deals. Whilst very much in the pro-Grant camp, I am distinctly unimpressed at our current lack of a CB signing bearing in mind the gap has been clear for months and the situation is worse now due to recent injuries.  I do begin to think that if I delivered the sort of success rate that alleged ace loan arranger Gunn was producing I might have been called in by the boss for a chat by now!
 20.
Dublin will replace Shack at the back, so Cardiff better not be quick!
If they have Hasselbaink and Fowler up front it might well be experience and intelligence we have to contend with more than outright pace.  In that case I hope Grant pulls an iron out of the fire this evening or else Dion is patched up and ready to go!
 21. For me automatic promotion was never a likely prospect considering where we were last season, the changes in personnel over the summer needing time to gel, and the strength of three or four other sides.  I think results so far demonstrate an overall improvement on last season; performances at times however show how much there still is to do.  So far I am pretty happy we seem to be going in the right direction and am happy to reserve detailed opinion until 10 games. All I was expecting for this season was a bit more bottle and a realistic flirt with the playoffs - while my heart said we would end up in the fray my head said (like you) 8th to 10th place was the likely outcome.  Like you say though, would be nice to be proved wrong.
