1. yeh i forgot those thanks,i am being a dohnut. i think this is the bussiest early summer i remember for being linked to players, having the amount of trialists we have and also already having signed 4 players too. Mind you all this is after losing Croft and Marshall so early on after the seasons end, by the way whats happened to the oh so imminent arrival of wade small heseems to have just been forgotten and would be free unlike any deal that would involve Whaley.
2. With being linked to so many players and having bids rejected, people on trial and then rumours aplenty, who do you really want to see in a city shirt this coming season, and who would you reluctantly or not so reluctantly see leave? Trialists: Mtandari Chrysantho Powell Joarder Nielson Theoklitos (aquired) WLY (dunno bout him)   Linked to: Wade Small Phil Ifill Paul Parry Simon Whaley Alan Lee Liam Dickinson Grant Holt Steven Hughes Rhoys Wiggins Warren Feeney   Academy products coming through: Adeyemi Smith Dumic Haberghabm Daley Lathrope Martin (kind of youth) Spillane (same as Martin)   Players linked away: Clingan Russel Hoolahan Docherty Pattison Obviously we were linked with OTJ, Gill and Nelson just before thry signed. But who else wouldyou like to see available as an NCFC player this year and a mix from who we could keep, buy or afford and with youth would u like to see feature. I think a team of:                                                                                           Theoklitos/Rudd                                                  Splillane                   Doc                     Stefanovic                  Drury/ another                                             Whaley/Neilson           Adeyemi/Gill           OTJ/Hughes              Hoolahan/Parry                                                                                Martin/Cody         Lee/Dickinson              Clingan will leave in my opinion. would like to see Dumic and Smith along with Adeyemi given a real chance i think Daley and Lathrope arent ready. Also is there a youngster called Stephens come through aswell? well thats what i would like anyway. what does everyone else think?
3. Ashton really should have cleared it off the line, the ball should never have got between his head and the post. And thats just what they said on sky
4. Seeing the article earlier stating that we have been placed as one of the top favourites for promotion, and not only that but winning the league of all things. Do the bookies actually have a look at the clubs that come down and the financial situation before making them favourites to bounce back, or do you reckon they just look at the end of the season and think ''''hhmmm..... Norwich, Southampton and Charlton relegated, so.........thats poor football all season thats done that, so............um............they''ll be favourites to do the opposite and play well next season, and uh win everything i guess?'''' Also to add if they had seen the comment made by Gunn today and the fact that we have no transfer kitty. Surely if they took a ganders at what little squad we do still have and thats expected to gradually disappear, with no promise of replacements (let alone the kind of replacements that will merit us being worth the odds assigned), they would take us out of the reckoning. I mean for gods sake we can''t even tempt Billy Clarke over Brenford its embarrasing. Shame that we were relegated as it seems there are a few good players on frees in the champ this year that are too good for league 1. We could have filled a few of those holes in the squad to make up numbers, surely now we must look more towards the conference and the bottom of league 2. OTBC
5. oh ok thanks guys, i did actually think it was summit to do with home grown players as i remember a couple of years ago when lee cook wanted to leave watford for QPR it think and they made a big fuss cos he was only 22 or 23? It was just because they said in the N''Guessan story he started his pro career in France which is why i assumed he did not graduate from their academy.
6. As lincoln are now asking any potential buyer for Dany N''Guessan for a compensaion fee, or they will head to tribunal. Are we eligible to do this for Croft as he is still under 24. I know he is 24 in june but surely if he is trying to sign before then we could ask at least half what we paid forhim back.
7. there''s only one mark rivers, one mark rivers, walking along singing his song........................
8. croft cannot b sold as he is not under contract anymore, and has walked away to join derby!
9. I agree on the malky point and when he retired we should of kept him here to coach the defence. Has done ok for himself at watford.
10. So i know we are trying to look forward now and rebuild and the last few years are nothing short of a catastrophe, but if you could go back what things would you change or rather earmark as the turning point(s) that have led to where we are today. My dad always said from the second we got promoted that he wasn''t looking forward to the prem season (strange i know), but i now know what he meant when he explained to me exactly what he meant. He said that we would face an obvious season of struggle and disappointment, and have to face being thrashed by the likes of ''''the bigger clubs.'''' Although this was not his main concern, it was more the fact he was concerned that once we were promoted and as expected struggled in the prem, it is very hard to get a team that is used to losing week in week out to win again, and so he was proven right as when we were relegated, and carried on the losing trend only to lesser teams and have not really competed or played football anywhere near he standard of the promotion season since. Now i know it would be silly to suggest that promotion was a bad thing as promotion and being at the top of the table is what football is all about. But looking back and knowing now what you do would you have traded our place in the prem that season if it meant playing decent football, having a steady flow of our own players, an ever present management team to provide the stability. Finally we all have our opinions on the board i know that they are 99% to blame in effect for what has happened but the last few years since relegation is all i really have to complain about with regards to them, so everything they have done in the last 2-3 seasons is well noted i want reasons that may have also affected us other than the ones the board have made So in conclusion what would you have changed in the last few seasons before this one? Do you think buying Ashton at the start of the prem season would have kept us up and we''d still be there now? Would you rather we never got promoted when we did? A different manager after relegation? for me it would be ashton at the start of the prem season, his goals would have been paramount and obviously a better centre half.
11. Jack Wilshere?? is that the lad from Arsenal?? would be worth a punt on a 18 month deal. think hes a left winger. As for the rest your dreaming. Just think if we''dstayed up we could of had people like alex bruce on a free added to that list kept crofty, but you can forget these players now they will be expensive. we need hungry younger players from beneath our league standing who arent someody elses cast offs and here for the pay check a la sibierski
12.
hmmmm i don''t know when i think of green i see that save he made in the play off final...that was agility
And the save in the prem against spurs at white hart lane from timotee atoubou shot. One handed class!
13. We are all aware of the state of our club so this is just a few suggestions on new players forthe new season obviously depending on the budget and wether we sell someone like clingan to fund it. anyway i think its vital we now scour from the league below (league 2) or the conference, like a peterborough approach and collect some low earning hard working solid performers for the next three seasons or so.   Simon Cox - top scorer in league 1 - may see us as a step up even if he remains in the same league, is still young at 22. price? Reuben Reid - Rotherham - is still young at 20 and scored 17 in league 2 i think John O''Flynn - linked with a few months ago scored 17 in league 2 may be worth a punt i still think Andy Bishop is worth a punt provided Bury dont make promotion, we were concerned at champ level wether he could make it but surely at league 1 its not to big a step up. i think if we can keep the nucleus of the squad together i.e. Marsh/ Rudd, Dejan, Doc, Drury, Hooly maybe Clingan Smith on the RM for me and then cody and lee if we can get him with one of the strikers mentioned above replacing a departed cureton.
14. This guy did his research!!! and he''s dead right about delia and co. a brilliant and im sure well rehersed speech.
15. Wat about all the talk of having points taken back off of other teams and results anulled surely if they folded this was meant to happen?
16. because if at that point   Barnsley - 49pts Plymouth 50pts and us on 47pts going into the last game. If we win and end up on 50pts, whatever the outcome on their game neither team could go and end up on over 50 point as a draw would mean we finish above barnsley on goal diff, and a win for either side would mean we would finish above the other either on goal diff for plymouth losing or by 1 pt if barnsley lose.
17. very interesting!!!! we will have to see what happens but i dint see that scenario
18. absolutely spot on u could tell from his voice that he felt the referee was clueless. Its nice to hear what is said from a referee to a player in situations like this, and when he said the referee said " well he kicked the ball away from goal" and marshall replied "yes" but then responded with " but its still a foul" you have to wonder how he can justify giving a penalty which should only be given when a clear goal scoring chance is denied. Absolutely mad
19. Makes me feel slightly optimistic even though i feel we are down. He reckons 2-3 points for barnsley and 4 for us will keep us up on goal difference!!!
20. So really it would be a side ways step. Getting rid of a player who is in out first eleven when fit for one of their squad players. Good business as usual. So next season thats no croft hooli or clingan and no money, wel if we dnt get relegated this season next year we will for sure.
21.
It''s goodnight to you........and good riddance!!!!!!! Don''t agree with your emotional waffle at all. You say you have been glued to your radio for years. Big deal!!!!!!!!! I live just 15 miles from you,am ten years older, have held a season ticket for over forty years, and also go to most away matches. I will be doing the same next season.......and the next. I could have had a nice villa in the sun ,on the money I have spent following Norwich over the years. Every game is an eight hour experience from west London. And quite expensive, with the petrol, food and drink. But it''s been worth it. Yes it is a shambles at the moment, and the situation has been in decline for some years now. We know the faults, and there are many. Doesn''t need an Einstein to tell us. But it''s either in your blood or it isn''t. I will go on watching my team no matter what division they are in. This is not just blind faith. Just what I enjoy doing despite the ups and (mainly) downs. So suggest you go shopping on a Sat afternoon, have a latte and a blueberry muffin, and listen for the Man Utd result on your ipod. Its people like you that are wasting and throwing your money into a botomless pit of under achievement. Theres nothing wrong with supporting your team, but the 17000 people who bought season tickets are making it look like they back delia and this tosh. Like someone else on here said, it doesnt matter as much if were trying and losing, but when were just rolling over and taking up the arse, how could anyone want to fund whats currently going on, especially in the current climate. Its nothing short of day light robbery.
22. All these people saying were down, despite how bad weve been all season i dont want to see it that way just yet. We still have to play plymouth watford and charlton and look how bad plymouth were pre the last five games. As i say this is not a debate just think that the only supporters that should feel dead and buried are charlton. Like wen we were on the way to promotion worthy said nothing is done and dusted until its mathematically impossible.
23. Sandy kennon a couple of times. Him and my grandad played for norwich at the same time and both goalies, did go in halves on a house here in spain, but sold up now. They see each other regularly, and we both obviously present at the reunion.
24. If by some miracle we stay up, and i mean miracle as in unbeaten till the endof the season with 5 wins making the run up. The summer comes and surely for all teams in the division its an even playing field. What chance do we have (provided money is found, via a treasure map or however) do we have of signing players of say Cheds satndard or the man himself, if we can produce a positive feeling round carrow road and colney and try to show ambition in building a squad with a 5 year plan for promotion. Or do people think after our last 2 seasons even if sed funds were made available (very unlikely) would a player just turn us down due to the position weve finished recently?
