That penalty at St James!!!
SeattleCanary replied to firststeps's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
You know what else really peas me off, there was a time where a goalkeeper could not jump forwards off his line and gain an advantage by being closer to the penalty. Darlow easily jumps two or 3 yards forward. -

It''s sad to be pessimistic, but anything other than a loss will be a bonus. You never know when we might play arsenal again so maybe we should just enjoy the game -

Ruddy, Pinto, Martin, Bass, Olsson, Redmond, O''Neil, Howson, Brady, Hooly, Jerome Subs; Rudd, Jarvis, Mbokani, Whittaker, Naismith, Mulumbu, Dorrans Glad Naismith has been dropped. Looks the best team we can field without Tetts and Klose!
Very concerned with that team selection - didn''t expect so many changes and not defence minded enough.I previously predicted a 2-1 victory to us and I''ll have to stick with it, so everthing crossed [Y]
I agree it isn''t defensive, but we need to just go for it. -

I''d assume so, even though he didn''t have a great game last time out you''d expect him to be in the squad. We are scarily thin at CB now. -
I just had a quick peek at the championship table, and I couldn''t believe how close the top three were! Brighton and M''boro still have to play each other, so 91 points could still be reached by both teams and not be enough to get a top two finish by one of them! Crazy! Also as a sidenote Hoootun''s Brighton are the top scores in the league. Why the hell could he not do that with us!?

Looking like Spurs will be on the beach against Newcastle on the final day. Typical luck for us… -
RDS7, I never said you weren''t entitled to an opinion, I just want to know why you have predicted us to lose to Everton 2-0 even though they have been atrocious at home, are injury hit, and in wretched form?
Don''t you know by now? We end teams poor runs mate. Just look at Palace. -
Since Paul Lambert the club has stagnated.
SeattleCanary replied to pete's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think the only thing that has stagnated has been the quality of football, and the running through brick walls giving 100% every game. Since Lambert left no manager has managed to include all these elements in their team. -

We will beat Watford 2-0
I''ll have a pint of whatever you are on.
Or just take the fact I''ve mentioned results that have occurred from playing 6 teams of the current bottom 9 that sit along with us, as an indication of what is more likely to happen than not. As I said CP are the only exception so far. Arsenal and Man U anything could happen. -
We will beat Watford 2-0
SeattleCanary replied to SeattleCanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Oh yes, of course, if you lose at home you are bound to win away. Does that just happen to all the teams or is it just something that happens to us? Six examples quoted, what about the other eleven, how did they go? Mention of Crystal Palace being the exception “for the bottom half teams”. So it’s only the bottom half team where it’s significant? Arsenal and Man U are not in the bottom half, Everton and Watford might not be by the time we play them. Isn’t Seattle well known as a technology centre can you run this through some of their computers.
We aren''t expected to beat top half teams really, except maybe 7-10 placed teams, so yeah it''s more significant in the bottom half. -
We will beat Watford 2-0
SeattleCanary replied to SeattleCanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Wow what a bunch of miserable f@ckers you are! I just thought I''d share something interesting. And yes, I found the bottom half way more relevant as those were always going to be our closest rivals for survival. I was just pointing out that we don''t do the double over anyone but look more likely than not to take something out of this fixture. Yes Bill Gates lives here, but I have no idea what you''re rambling on about mate. We beat them 3-0 at home last season, so why not 2-0 on a few weeks!? -
After letting the disappointment of the defeat today sink in, I was thinking about results, and how we played against a lot of teams this season. We all know it''s part of being a Norwich supporter, but the inconsistency is actually quite consistent when it comes to how we perform against a team twice in a season. Look at this and it''s weird, almost the reverse goal for goal. Norwich 3 Bournemouth 1 - Bournemouth 3 City 0 City 0 West Brom 1 - West Brom 0 City 1 City 1 Swansea 0 - Swansea 1 City 0 City 0 S''land 3 - S''land 1 City 3 City 3 N''castle 2 - N''castle 6 City 2 City 2 Villa 0 - Villa 2 City 0 Crystal Palace are the exception for the bottom half teams, whilst we have lost or drawn to the top half teams, again the exception being Southampton where we lost at their ground but won at ours. The West ham results were completely mirrored as well. I know that the reverse fixtures don''t see exactly the same goals, but when we score 3 or 1 against a team they normally come back at us and score 3 or one in the reverse fixture. It is extremely strange. There is nothing to suggest our inconsistency will change, so we could quite easily beat Watford 2-0, draw against Arsenal and Everton 1-1 again, and likely lose 2-1 at home to United. But really who knows. I just thought how strange it was how we almost reverse the score in the reverse fixture of every game.

Agree with you somewhat Herman. He should stay, but his signings except Klose have been awful... Jarvis, Mbokani, Mulumbu, Dorrans and of course Naismith. I don''t have faith in him or the recruitment team as a whole at all. We''ll likely lose Redmond and maybe Brady plus maybe one more of our better players. I am worried we''ll follow a similar relegation to promotion after one season and the relegation to mid table champ mediocrity ala QPR.

Goal difference has taken a huge swing between the 3 of us today.

Says it all about today

Why did he bother saying that he would be a close assessment for today''s game then, if he was out for the season all along? It was tactical, to keep Sunderland second-guessing, then surely we should be doing that for the last four games as well and not telling other teams which players are out. Completely stupid.
