  1. You’ve offered up a much better reason for Lampard than a lot I’ve seen elsewhere (the point you make about the midfield), and I think you’re right about Mason Mount too. It’s indeed highly debatable. But people are talking like Mason Mount was some sort of street urchin with 2 left feet and Lampard turned him into the player he is today. Not buying that, he was and is a fabulous talent and any manager could have given him minutes. Regardless, I’m more interested in is he actually the guy to get us climbing the table, or is he wanted because people think it’ll make Norwich look respected and ‘big time’. I suspect the latter.
  2. Seriously 🤦🏻‍♂️ Do you honestly think we sacked Farke and then began the search on Saturday night???
  3. Feel the same, Knutsen definitely 1st choice too, but Dean Smith did great at Brentford also, way better record than Lampard’s so I’m warming to the idea also (if we can’t get Knutsen as I’m starting to fear maybe the case).
  4. Ha ha there’s been some classics on here over the last 20 years or so, but that ‘big TV’ was a Pink’un bit of gold, Squit! ⭐️
  5. Our of reactions, but yes Fred 👍 Seriously I guarantee you if Frank Lampard hadn’t played for Chelsea then nobody would be remotely interested. In fact, if that was a foreign manager with an identical record to Frank’s, then there’d be absolute uproar at the mere suggestion of said guy coming in to firefight our season, and rightly so.
  6. If we’re going to replace Farke, then at least do it with people that have actually done something. As I say, Knutsen’s 100% my choice by far as he has done exceptional things at Glimt, but if it really is between Smith and Lampard, then you have to look at their managerial records to give ourselves the best possible chance, and actually base this appointment on a proven track record rather than just hunches and hopes which is largely the argument for Frank Lampard. Dean Smith also did rather well at Brentford and actually has a pretty decent record as a manager - it is certainly better than Frank Lampard’s, I don’t think that’s even debatable to date. Every appointment is a gamble, but we are really not in a position right now to mess this up, so I just hope to give ourselves the very best possible chance we go for the most proven option first and foremost, whomever that may be.
  7. Spot on Gunny. His defensive record wasn’t exactly great with the calibre of players he had at his disposal, so I hate to think how that would play out with a team currently in the midst of an early season relegation dogfight. Not very favourably I would imagine, and that statistic alone is a big red flag for me.
  8. Indeed, of course I’m well aware of that incident and it was a terrible decision Nuff, but the VAR’s, particularly that teething season, were making controversial decisions every weekend much to the fury of supporters from all 20 clubs, so if all the wrongs were righted I’m sure the end of season table would look different again. Therefore I think it’s a fairly moot point with the greatest of respect.
  9. He also conceded quite a lot of goals at Chelsea too. I would hate to think what that would translate to here.
  10. If it was a straight choice out of Dean Smith and Frank Lampard, I would 100% go Dean Smith. Has kept Villa up 2 seasons in a row and would probably have finished around mid table this season once he had some key players back to full fitness. A look at VillaTalk shows a lot of their fans thinking it was a crazy decision and more importantly that he’d keep us up too. My choice is still Knutsen, but would have Smith over Lampard if it came down to it any day of the week.
  11. Ha ha true! Yep he’s stopped short of saying the word ‘retired’ to be fair, but there’s numerous reports on the internet that say he won’t be managing in the Premier League again, I posted a Sky article about it on here earlier somewhere.
  12. Dean Smith, son of Delia, first transfer target in January - Emi Buendia
  13. I suspect that’s a leak from the club whilst we talk to the real candidates, Ralf Hasenhuttl being the giveaway, I mean just imagine winding up and unsettling the club we just so happen to be playing next in a crunch game at Carrow Rd? 👀 Good work Webber, I can see what you’re trying to do here, very naughty 👍
  14. Definitely need to get Knutsen stood next to Rob Holding for a photo opportunity, Wolfie
  15. I would guess it simply comes down to whether you agree with their views or not, rather than an age issue. If you look at the support for them on here then it’s generally from people that are in agreement of their views, and those that don’t agree aren’t fans of theirs, that’s how it looks to me. I don’t see why anybody should feel forced into views on them either way - I’ve liked some of the podcasts with opposition fans that Chris does, but my own personal choice is the Pink’un lads and Michael Bailey’s podcasts as you get what I’m far more interested in, and that is a very balanced view rather than crazy extremes either way.
  16. I believe Chris Reeve is a journalist for the Daily Planet but not 100%
  17. I wouldn’t get too concerned just yet. Webber was far from impressed when his pursuit of a player, Dennis Mann, was played out in public a while back. The fact that reports in Norway could be quiet maybe down to Webber’s insistence with those at Glimt that any conversations remain strictly private. Hopefully the whole Lampard/Smith stuff is just a carefully executed smokescreen, something I definitely wouldn’t past Webber. Surprised no ones been checking the private planes to the airport at the moment though!
  18. Wonder if that’s to do with some (possibly dubious) articles being put out today that Lampard is in talks with the club, just as his odds had gone out to 3/1 or so. Got a feeling there might be a few Chelsea fans lumping on as well as our own.
  19. Out of likes, but this sounds a very fair assessment to me Purple old bean 👍
  20. You’re correct, it did affect everyone first time around and we were all in exactly the same boat. It was the least of worries that season thanks to our injury crisis and a record low spend, the latter we were warned about by Webber at the time in fairness. Did every club have an extensive Covid outbreak 2 weeks before the start of this particular season which curtailed essential preparations however? The answer to that would be no.
  21. And then another fully grown bloke who has spent the last few weeks having public meltdowns agreeing with another fully grown bloke having… a public meltdown 😝😂. Love this message board, never a dull moment 😂
  22. You’ve basically nailed TeemuVanBasten in one 👍
  23. Lunchtime bevvy? Don’t worry, been there myself in the past 😉😂 And it’s not just some German manager, it’s Lord Farke btw
