  1. Norfolk born & bred. Now split my time between Indonesia and Johannesburg. Check every match online, although had the treat of watching the match vs Ipswich live here in South Africa.
  2. Thanks, will let you know as soon as I do.
  3. Yep, something that Roeder can sell to the new players he is trying to attract hopefully! I just hope it doesn''t shrink too much if they do let the sea defences erode. We may have to start a water polo team rather than football.
  4. My parents and brothers still live just outside Norwich.
  5. I love coming back to Norfolk, Norwich in particular, although spent much of my working life abroad.
  6. Do you come from Norwich originally?
  7. We lived just off Brick Lane for a while.
  8. In which part of London do you reside?
  9. Well that''s a pretty good reason!
  10. Can''t say until his future is sorted, as you will understand.
  11. Fair enough, apology accepted. But I am very worried about what the future because of what I''ve heard. I don''t think there are too many malicious lies. I think there is a lot of indignation at the treatment of Huckerby, contrasting with his totally gracious behaviour.
  12. I can understand scepticism. I can''t understand the rudeness.
  13. It was the Colney one I was talking about. They spend more time there.
  14. Very good point, Prudence No Ambition.
  15. Actually I do have an in to the dressing room. So don''t be so rude.
  16. I don''t think many of them want to stay. Roeder has lost the dressing room.
  17. Yes, I think Fotheringham, Doherty, Gilks, Croft & Lappin will all go.
  18. Good point. I was thinking more of his MK Dons time rather than Macclesfield.
  19. I fear that Roeder doesn''t have many players that meet his own lofty standards, let alone a board. I predict that not only Huckerby but Fotheringham, Doherty, Martin and Shackell will all leave. Cave-Brown, Halliday, both of the Jarvis brothers, Smart and Bexfield will all go. Roeder definitely deserves plaudits for rescuing Norwich from last place in the Championship with just 8 points from 13 games. He set us off on a good run but in the end of it was touch and go. I sense an unhappiness in the changing room and that Roeder has a need to eradicate any signs of previous regimes and install his own. That is all very well but in the process he will rip the heart of the club out with very few players having any links with Norwich. No doubt we will be become Newcastle Lite.Team                  Nat From                    To                                            Record                          P   W   L   D Win %Gillingham August 1, 1992 July 9, 1993 51 13 22 16 25.49 Watford August 1, 1993 February 20, 1996 139 44 55 40 31.65 West Ham United May 9, 2001 August 24, 2003 86 27 36 23 31.39 Newcastle United February 2, 2006 May 6, 2007 72 33 24 15 45.83 Norwich City October 30, 2007 Present 31 12 10 9 38.71Just a reminder of his management record. He''s certainly getting better, but he''s no Paul Ince.
  20. I don''t think Roeder has proved anything yet. He has got Norwich playing their traditional passing football. He arrived when we were rock bottom and got us onto a good run, so that we were almost vying for the play-offs. We then slumped so we were back in the relegation mix towards the end of the season and only managed to guarantee Championship football on the penultimate week of the season. We are 16th in the Championship which is not a great result for this club.Roeder has done this before. He had an immediate positive effect at both West Ham and Newcastle but then things began to slide. A lifelong Geordie supporter today bet me that Roeder will not be manager by January next year after a poor run of results. He expects Lee Clark to take over. He just doesn''t think Roeder can improve a team over the long-term and ends up losing the dressing room. I would suggest that this isn''t a particularly happy dressing room at the moment. Now that we are safe in the Championship, contract negotiations will resume. We will see whether Hucks and other players remains here. It seems to me that Roeder doesn''t like particularly strong characters in his changing room, so Huckerby probably won''t be retained. It doesn''t help that he is a legacy from previous regimes.Norwich''s academy products must be demoralised. Chris Martin and Michael Spillane have hardly had a look in. Halliday, Cave-Brown, Eagle, Smart & Bexfield have been stuck in the reserves or playing Youth team football. If they aren''t looking for other clubs they should be. Tom Miller was told that Roeder had heard good things about him but that he wouldn''t be getting a professional contract. That suggests to me that Roeder, who is meant to be good at evaluating and bringing on youngsters, didn''t have the time to check out the youngsters and relied on the advice of others. That won''t be helping morale amongst those responsible for the Academy & developing age group players. So, after bringing in his Newcastle mates Stephenson & Clark, I would expect Roeder to instigate more departures of long-time Norwich servants, such as Ricky Martin and the introduction of other contacts from his Newcastle days. And if the board doesn''t back Roeder with money we will have the embarrassment of the club captain, Fotheringham leaving as well. It''s very sad that Dion Dublin will retire from football with the club at such a low ebb. Not a great exit for Huckerby if, as widely expected, he does go as well. However, Roeder will have a blank sheet with which to start. Hopefully he will still have Marshall, Fotheringham, Pattinson & Russel as the basis of his team. I look forward to seeing whose contract is renewed and who is on the way out, as we should over the next few weeks.
  21. Jas, the journalist writes it, the editor edits but the article is the product of journalism. We will never know whether the journalist got it wrong or the editor introduced the mistake. Only the editor and journalist will know whether the Archant editorial system is working well or apparently not as in this case.
