for those who attended todays game, how many of you thought martin looked lots better than brown. i thought brown looked clumsy when in possesion and kept tripping over his own feet when he had the ball. but martin looked really sharp, and his passing, abbility to turn defenders and workrate impressed me. good signs for he future providing grant brings him on every week or maybe even gives him a start.

eagle shines again in reserve match
SM replied to lucky green trainers's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
the no.6 you are on about is probably matty haliday, and about eagle playing centre mid didn''t i say a couple of months ago that eagle would end up playing there because of his lack of pace, and everyone slated me and were is he playin in the reserves -
you are alowed 8 short term loans per season (anything up to 3 months) and 4 long term (anything above 3 months) hope this helps

totaly agree JF zonal marking is a continental style as set pieces don''t really get used in there games because it is mostly build up play and most free kicks get passed square. you may be able to get away with zonal marking in the premiership as it is not as rough as the championship, but when you have strapping 6''''4'' centre backs attacking your area you are marking they usually beat you to the ball. grant please put man marking into action immediately.

i take that back 6 chances already OTBC

playing 4-5-1 away at palace who are struggling in the division this year seems a bit negative to me, but at least safri is still in the side. even if dion only played 50 mins today, he would still give us what knowone else can give us. height, strength and leadership. i''m sure people will aslo ask why grant wants to chage a winning team, even if dublin and croft have to come of after an hour. anyway hopefully we can get another much needed win OTBC

my team for the fa cup tie against tamworth would be as follows: lewis colin spillane shackell rossi j henderson safri etuhu eagle martin dublio Subs: gallacher, drury, hughes, hux, earnie this team has enough qaulity and experience to wi the tie and it would give some youth players a chance aswell. or do you think we wshould go with a full strength side just to be sure of victory?

Young English football academy - failure!
SM replied to hogesar's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
our academies no longer focus on skill or tecnique, they are more interested in pace, power, height and strength this is why players like shaun wright-phillips (who slipped through the nottingham forest net because of his height) nearly didn''t even have careers. this is why there is a lack of creative midfielders. and what positions do NCFC lack in at the moment midfielder-not many midfielders around with any skill is there, this is why at the end of the day our midfield cannot pass a ball (excluding safri, who is suffering from a loss of form) this is why we cannot win the world cup-why do brazil win lots of competitions? because they concentrate on skill and tecnique -
Youngsters go to Lynn, why??????????
SM replied to Hartsons Gut's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
do you have any idea IOTC? It''s pretty simple why the two young boys have gone to kings lynn IMO, cave-brown has gone there to get some match fitness and so that grant has the chance to see him play. fisk has gone there to play regularly so that he can get used to proffesional football as reserve and youth teams lack bite, determination and the wise old head in the team who will encourage and help the younger players, dion dublin is a great example of this if you watch him. since shackell has played next to dublin, shack''s positioning and awareness have come on leaps and bounds uner DD''s guidance. this should also toughen up fisk a bit because from wot i have seen of him he is total lightweight -
well when he matures and gets stronger he will be able to, not necesarily now

when i have watched rob eagle play in the reserves over the past two seasons, and in recent times i have always thought he hasn''t got enough pace to be a winger. so he may eventually move into central midfield because of his good passing ability. if we try this it would allow us to get carl robinson out of the starting lineup, an into the reserves where he rightly belongs.my formation would be for hull would be: gallacher colin dublin shacks drury McVeigh etuhu safri eagle hucks earnshaw this would also allow us to switch to a 4-4-2 when hucks roams and isn''t getting back

Jamie ashdown-kicking poor, but handling and command of the area are good MLJ-sicknote, get him of the wage bill adam drury-good championship defender butnot prem quality shackell-great prospect and may be a future captain, needs experience next to him to guide him and help him improve fleming-great servant but his time is up younger legs needed hucks-sign him on a new 2 year contract now please grant, no attacking force without him croft-improving his fitness would make him a great player thorne- need''s to go, thats all i can say dion-when played at centre back guides shackell, great leadership, needs replacing @the end of the season as legs will go soon earnie-needs a partner desperately, looked isolated against binners chadwick-looks class, hopefully the injury isn''t to bad camp-back to derby safri-great technical ability, but needs to start giving 100% every game hughes-great battler, but dosen''t have any ability when it comes to passing or technique, go McVeigh-class player on his day, if played in his favoured position behind the strikers, can make city tick at his best, another who needs to give 100% evry week dickson-at his best prem quality, at his worst not good enough for the conference, needs consistency gallacher-great shot stopper, but his command of the area is very poor, defence always look vulnerable from crosses as they know he probably isn''t going to come and claim it hendo+jarvis-should have been loaned out for experience a couple of years ago, both can leave colin-starting to improve slowly, starting to get past wingers and put good balls into the box doc-has put the weight on again and looks slow on the turn, replacement needed desperately lewis- loan him out now so he isn''t another jarvis or hendo robinson-always looks the poorest midfielder on the pitch, can leave no youth players assesed positions that need strengthening-GK, CB, CM, ST any disagreements?
-
my team would be gallacher colin dublin shackell drury dickson safri chadwick mcveigh hux earnshaw this formation would give us more attackin options
-
if we were to go with 4-4-2 the lineup i would pick would be the following, and give hucks the free role. ashdown colin doherty shackell drury croft etuhu safri eagle hucks earnie but if it were to go with 4-5-1 the usual team, any other suggestions?
