1.

It''s quite simple in this instance.  If you really wanted to stand that much, you could have (as I did) bought tickets to go on the terrace.  Not only was it four quid cheaper that is kind of the entire point of it.  If you wanted to sit then you go in the seats.  Only, of course, I forget that we seem to have a disproportionately high number of selfish c*nts in our fanbase who insist on standing even in this situation where they are at the front and kids, short people and those who have trouble standing for long periods then suffer as a result.  But never mind, at least you''re true fans, eh?
Spot on Graham. People can huff and puff all they like about wanting to stand at football matches but last Saturday and pretty uniquely for us there was a choice as to whether you wanted to sit or stand. Want to stand ? = terrace ticket Want to sit ? = seat ticket. Can''t be plainer than that, can it ? Why buy a seat if you want to stand ? Many on here were looking forward to a '' proper knees-up '' match on terracing which was great but those who can''t stand/prefer to sit could still attend and enjoy the match. The seats sold out much quicker than the terrace spaces - there was a message saying so on the official web-site before lunchtime on the day of sale - so clearly those that couldn''t, or didn''t,  feel comfortable standing snapped up those tickets assuming that, just for once, they''d be able to see the full 90 mins. How wrong can you be. The stewards should have come down heavy from the off then maybe everyone could have had a decent day out.
Strewth Smithy!! You and that Graham must be a couple of lame-brained flamin'' galahs... even blind freddie can see that we needed the seats to sit on at half-time... you couple of whingeing poms  don''t expect us to get terrace tickets and stand for two hours do yer?? You''re like a bunch of Sheilas yakking on about sitting down during the game... stone the flamin'' crows what is it with all you drongos gettin'' as busy as centipedes on a hot plate tryin'' to spoil the enjoyment of us kosher fans who like to stand and go leary... fair dinkum to cod piece and the like who behave like proper fans should..  Flamin'' Galahs.. the pair of ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![ip][B][B][ip][pi][ap][B][:''(]

Stone the flamin'' crows mate! You gotta have kangaroo''s loose in yer top paddock! We''d be be up sh*t creek without a paddle with that bludger Ranger. Too many drongos get on here and bang on like a dunny door in a storm about bludgers who could replace Holt. Even blind freddie could see we need to hang on to Holty. With threads like this he''ll be off quicker than a bucket of prawns in the hot sun. Flamin'' galahs the lot of ya!!!! 4. Of course a woman could manage your football club. A woman has the ability to stick to a job and get on with it when everyone else walks off and leaves it. You see it may be the cock that crows, but it is the hen that lays the eggs. Any woman who understands the problems of running a kitchen will be nearer to understanding the problems of running a football team. I was always taught that if you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman.   Just look at your wonderful owner. Delia Smith is a woman. And like me she will go on and on and on until she feels your club would be better served if she stood down. I am quite sure Delia won''t stand aside and allow your football club to be swamped by an alien culture.
 5.
What a racist advert!
Stone the flamin'' crows Mister.. However is that racist!! Get off the ''puter and do some work yer flamin'' bludger! 6.
Ha, might have guessed who was behind that comment - architect of Britain''s ruin my a*se. He''s old enough to know who that was and he probably has a shrine to her in his house!
How nice to read you still remember me a1. I hope you remember that Labour Governments results have ranged between the merely shabby and the truly catastrophic. Phoney Ed Balls should remember that every Prime Minister needs a Willie. I usually make up my mind about a man in ten seconds, and I very rarely change it. Balls is Frit! Frit! Afraid! We should back the workers, not the shirkers! But it would be a grave mistake to think that freedom requires nothing of us. The architect of Britain''s ruin is not your a*se but it is a man. It may be the cock that crows, but it is the hen that lays the eggs.   Blue is the colour.
 7.

Wimbledon won the FA Cup in 1988....it can be done.
OHMIGOD!!!!! Are we still in the 1980s?[:''(]     I thought today''s economic policies looked familiar...[8o|]
Good morning Purple, what a lovely summer’s day! I’m very much looking forward to Geoffrey’s Budget next week. Now where was I…….   Ahh yes! Purple, how nice of you to still remember me!   You would do well to remember that your club is in very good hands. Like me Delia Smith is a woman. And like me she will go on and on and on….   She has a woman''s ability to stick to a job and get on with it when everyone else walks off and leaves it. No wishy washy Mr Carrow type support from her. No withdrawing support when the going gets tough. You see it may be the cock that crows, but it is the hen that lays the eggs. Any woman who understands the problems of running a kitchen will be nearer to understanding the problems of running a football club. I was always taught that if you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman.   I say to the likes of Mr Carrow that I was brought up by a Victorian grandmother and we were taught to work jolly hard! We should back the workers, not the shirkers! And Delia is of the same mold. So Nutty, you have nothing to worry about. Delia will back Paul Lambert and not let a mere man spend the money on tangible fixed assets. Many of your troubles are due to the fact that your fans turn to the club for everything. There''s no such thing as entitlement, unless someone has first met an obligation. It''s not the creation of wealth that is wrong, but love of money for it''s own sake. So stop all this namby pamby bleating over cheap season tickets. Let me give you my vision: A manager''s right to manage as he will, to spend what he earns, to own players, to have the board as servant and not as master. I usually make my mind up about a man in ten seconds and I very rarely change it. I believe that Carrow chap changes his mind as often as I change my M&S knickers. My message to him is “You turn if you want to, the ladies are not for turning!”
 8.

Its funny until its You Purple.[:|]
Wizard, no-one has ever thought me important or interesting enough to impersonate!   But, OK, I take your point, assuming this other person on this other site I haven''t looked at is seriously pretending to be you.
I''m a purple wizard, And Im going to post on here. You''re not important or interesting, Let me make that very clear. I''m a purple wizard, I''m a wonder of the age. I''m a sorcerer, magician, prestidigitator, mage. I can be a purple chicken, or perhaps a purple pig. I can wave my wand and, presto, I''m a waffle with a wig. With the power in my pinky I can burst like a balloon or transform into a tiger with the head of a baboon. If I wiggle on my earlobe or I knock upon my knee I become a dancing doughnut or a turtle in a tree. Just a simple incantation and I deftly disappear, which I never should have done because I''ve been this way all year. And despite my purple magic I''m impossible to see, for I never learned the spells I need to turn back into me. So think of me the next time a purple thing you see, even if it''s only Fergies nose while your watching your TV.
 9.
All seats in the Fanny Magnet Pussy Wagon complete with match ticket were taken Nutty Junior but if this Angel Bashing keeps up there may well be a seat for you.If so good job tickets are not identified as male and female[:P]
Hello big boy....     If there''s a spare seat going I''m your man and I''d just luurrvvve to live in your cupboard.....
 10.
Totally agree with that too Mr Cluckbert.
Indeed Mr Yellow. It''s nice to see another poster who can appreciate that this great togetherness between the club and the fans cannot be enjoyed without making it very clear that Delia is not included. New blood such as your good self is now very important to us now since the rest of the purists seem to be embarrassed by the clubs success and have stopped posting. Glad to have you with us and don''t let the Pink Un bully-boys deter you[Y]
 11.

Why did I just know that a thread with "General Idiots" in the title would be swarming with "purists"? [^o)]
The PURISTS mission... should we choose to accept it... is to return NCFC to it''s County roots and thence secure it''s future as the community club it once was (and will be again) when the tired old cook has packed her bags and left for Portman Road. We exist and will persevere in our quest for as long as it takes. General Idiots along with certain other distant locality based ''fans'' (laughable) will play no part in the PURIST view of what NCFC should be.
Thank Christ for that.I''d rather eat my own poo than belong to a group of ''Purist'' gumbies!Nowt but a bunch of local, yokel tw@s by the sounds of it![:)]
Sorting this club out is a serious business and we don''t want any limp wristed participants when we have our group sperm donation to ensure the purist support continues long after we have slipped this mortal coil.   You simply aren''t up to the standard required.....   For those who''s wrists are strong enough to join us at the session please listen to our anthem  and learn it for the next meeting.
 12.
Having just spent 15 minutes reading this thred which is a mixture of sensible debate and purile childish insults I have just one question of one or two posters. What do they expect to happen if/when Smith and Jones shareholding drops below 50%. I can only come up with two things which I believe will happen.   1. Wiz comes on here claiming a huge victory for Norwich City 2. A significant amount of the debt becomes repayable immediatelly. Excuse me if i can''treally see too much benefit to us as a club.
Hilarious jbghost......Sad that so many like you need to cling on to Delia''s apron strings. Life existed quite nicely before she arrived...and and it will again when she leaves.   If that doesn''t sink finally in I''ll have to charge a fee from now on as it then comes under the mental health act as nursing care.   Run along and pull your pants up FFS.   Lightweight.   This is easy Paul.... Money for old rope.
 13.
as no one has said it i suppose i will ghave to "But she saved the club!!!!!"
Hilarious tripe......Sad that so many like you need to cling on to Delia''s apron strings. Life existed quite nicely before she arrived...and it will again when she leaves.
 14.

EMPTY SPACE
Did somebody say something? No?
Dear oh bloody dear...   What a silly little fellow you are to be sure.... I expected more from you, if you don''t pull your pants up short shrift I will be getting my promotion sooner than I expected.     Let me try....     This is the result of dumbing NCFC down and changing it from a passionate community club into a la de da family theatre. Not enough passionate grassroot fans who are happy to be heard... and too many luvvies who think such behaviour is ''most unseemly''. Despite the best efforts of the new regime it will take years to throw off the painfully squeaky image Delia Smith has inflicted on us. Bring back the ''casual fan'' and reduce the season ticket stranglehold and things might change. This Canary Call crap says it all about the modern game and the mentality of the support. It''s just another example of the ''look at me'' generation who love to hug the camera to polish an already over inflated ego. It''s hilarious tripe......Sad that so many like you need to cling on to Delia''s apron strings. Life existed quite nicely before she arrived...and and it will again when she leaves.   I detect some kind of ''Mother Fixation'' going on here......and that involves a fear of going out into the big wide world alone. This is the real negativity we need to address in order to move on and shows just how effective ''spin'' can be when directed at the right people. Bring me a bucket for God''s sake.
 15. Throughout the late eighties and early nineties we were referred to us as a small club. In fact during my ten years there, and I''m not boasting, just being factual - we finished third, fourth and fifth in the top flight, reached two FA Cup semi-finals and during one season stayed at the top of the first division longer than any other club. Rarely does a club as small as Norwich hold the top spot for so long. I can''t see that being repeated.   I''m afraid anything Mr. Unpopular in Scotland can do I can do better!
 16. Football chanting is as sinful as any other type of chanting, with its obscene  gestures and swearing. It is an incitement to violence.     There is no excuse for it; it has to stop.
 17.   Indeed we did sell players to finance other ventures. How else was it to be done. We built three new stands and a magnificent new training ground. We invested heavily in buying eight acres of land around the ground, which were a derelict mill and a car park. It was later sold for 15 times more than we paid for it.   I had plans big for that land and was going to erect my Chasedome but cruelly never got it built. What a lasting legacy that would have been for my wonderful 10 years in charge.   You should never forget that during my ten years here, and I''m not boasting, just being factual - we finished third, fourth and fifth in the top flight, reached two FA Cup semi-finals and during one season stayed at the top of the first division longer than any other club. Rarely does a club as small as Norwich hold the top spot for so long. I can''t see that being repeated. We also qualified for Europe on three occasions, but unfortunately, because of the English ban, we only had the opportunity to play in the competition once. That was crowned by a trip to Bayern Munich when we beat them on their own soil.
 18.
Bob the builder - Is it actually legal to impersonate (or pass your self off as someone) without their permission?
Good point Budgie and thank you for bringing it to my attention. I did ring Bob''s office this afternoon and spoke a lovely young lady called Wendy. She told me Bob was out pricing up a new job. Apparently the Main Stand has burnt down at Sunflower Valley FC and Bob has been asked to quote for the rebuild. I told her to be careful and make sure that Sunflower Valley considered all of the quotes on their own merits.   To return the favour I called the RSPCB on your behalf and they have absolutely no issue with you impersonating a budgie. I also took it upon myself to call the monkey house at London Zoo and they assured me that posters from the "Old" NCISA were ok too.
 19.
Going off at a tangent, I am interested by the comparisons over the scale of the Chase protests and those half hearted Delia Smith "protests". If you think about logically what has happened to NCFC under Delia Smith and Co was (I say was as I believe she is now just a figurehead and McNasty is the driving force of the club) is every bit as bad as what happened under Chase, yet hardly a whimper from the fans....why? Personally I think there are three main reasons - 1) Legislation (In terms of organising a protest and the powers available to the authorities 2) Technology (No mass access to the internet and 3) Apathy (Linked to 2) in that there are so many keyboard warriors these days, these days its all Facebook campaigns....
Interesting post sir. Although I do feel you miss the point slightly. In my day I controlled the show. I didn''t employ Executive Management - I was Executive Management. I think the dear lady once referred to me as the "all singing, all dancing leader". Consequently the 8 good years were down to me alone. As was the following struggle. As you say, there were half-hearted Delia protests but no protests whatsoever towards the Executive Management of the club. I shall never understand why that was.   Perhaps you can answer your own question - Did you protest against me? Did you protest against them?
 20.

I smell a new bromance [{][}].....although I do feel a bit left out[U][W]
It''s just respect for one''s old CO. You youngsters wouldn''t understand that[;)]
Butler..... I''m getting a good vibe and am genuinely impressed by your stoicism when it comes to criticism on here. Whether I''m suitable to be part of the ''establishment'' is seriously open to question.  [;)]
Suitability, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.[;)] Better to be a rebel with a cause and a means to try and change things than to rage at a no feling brick wall. As chairman (or acting at least) it would be great to welcome you as a comrade in arms (again) and to have the benefits of your experience (however radical) If you don''t have all views how can anybody hope make the right decisions.[:D]
Now this kind offer extend to me? I''m still a proud man but I''m not in a position to turn down the offer of a free ride. I could help your cause. I just need an assurance that the rump of the old Chase Out Group has been removed. I could never sit round the same table as them. If they are now banished, never to return, we could be rebels together. Comrades in arms giving the current lot a taste of the medicine I recieved from your predecessors.
 21.
To my mind there will only ever be one winner.... and that is RC. He may have come off the rails a bit towards the end but it was one hell of a ride.
Too true my friend. You''ve got to be judged on your results - and my last 18 months were very difficult. But I think the 8½ years before that were very successful. When you look back over our ten years at Carrow Road as a whole I think we were very successful. I hope that my colleagues there now will be more successful over the next decade. But going back, and the club is over 100 years old you know, I would think that my decade was the best and most successful the club has ever had. OK, the last 18 months was tough - but you''ve got to take a broad view.   That''s why it hurt so much when the Chase Out Brigade were so insulting to me in such a personal way. Taking my unprecedented ten years as a whole I don''t believe I deserved that. Apart from the year they spent treating Nigel Worthington the same way, they''ve never protested like that again. Even Neil Doncaster, who took this club into the Third Division, never had to contend with a fraction of the abuse I received in those last 18 painful months.
 22.
Didn''t Polston turn out a waste of money!!
How could you say that! John Polston was a key member of my team that conquered Bayern Munich in Europe. That was probably the pinnacle of my unprecedented ten years success. He was also my get out of jail card because the other two were a waste of money. It didn''t work in the end because shrewder football brains than mine recognised that Linighan was second only to the great Barry Butler in the pecking order of Norwich centre-halves.
 23.
You also missed Radio BOB with headsets built into hats.(stil have mine) A pure stroke of genius far ahead of it''s time and the fore runner of club podcasts!!
You still have one of those Chris? How quaint. Of course mine went in that polythene bag and into the cellar, the same way as all my memorabilia went. I don''t know where it went when we cleared ''The Hall'' though. Do you recall me moving on from Radio Bob to HOT 106 FM?  Of course that venture never really got off the ground, something I wasn''t used to after my ten years of unprecedented success at such a small Football Club. In fact we were fondly known as "Robert Chase''s Little Norwich" in my day.     Whilst we are reminiscing another of my "pure strokes of genius" was back in December 1990. I was watching the Wimbledon match with my guest Lord Justice Taylor. We were 0-4 down after 20 minutes and the natives were restless and becoming unruly. Of course this was a recurring theme during my unprecedented ten years in charge. The rabble in the Barclay Stand all sat down on the terraces in protest because I had sold Andy Linighan and Andy Townsend for two and a half million and brought in John Polston, Paul Blades and Colin Woodthorpe for less than half that amount. It was a little embarrassing to say the least. But Lord Taylor put his hand on my shoulder and said "Stroke of genius Bob! All your unruly fans sitting down as though they were in a classroom. Much safer! I''m sure that will come in handy one day..................
 24. I believe the shares are £30 a pop and worthless these days.   But of course during my ten years in control, and I''m not boasting, just being factual - we finished third, fourth and fifth in the top flight, reached two FA Cup semi-finals and during one season stayed at the top of the first division longer than any other club. Rarely does a club as small as Norwich hold the top spot for so long. The shares were valued around twenty pounds each then. And worth every penny!   But of course in reality they weren''t traded at £20. They were brought and sold for whatever was agreed by the two parties. When I realised that hiring police horses was throwing good money after bad I looked for a buyer. Eventually I found the right man with the right offer and it was thank you and goodbye.   Dear old Geoffrey always had an eye for a bargain.
 25.
Since Delia put the chintz curtains up it''s lost it''s way........ Robert Chase''s fortress is now little more than a kitchen extension.
During my ten years there, and I''m not boasting, just being factual - we finished third, fourth and fifth in the top flight, reached two FA Cup semi-finals and during one season stayed at the top of the first division longer than any other club.   Rarely does a club as small as Norwich hold the top spot for so long. We had the most wonderful monogramed carpet with a pile as big as yours cluck. Indeed by the time I found the right man with the right offer we had the income of a Southend and the expenditure of Real Madrid. But never, I repeat never did we truck with chintz curtains.
